Vince Morningway has always run the family ministry alone—and his way. Until his big-deal brother hires a business consultant to bring him—and the ministry—into this century. Suddenly Melanie Frazer, in her pastel suits and clicking heels, is organizing papers and talking computers. And she's too interested in sorting the dreams Vince has for his life. But those old dreams—to leave town and see the world instead of taking care of everyone and everything—passed him by long ago. Unless Melanie can show him how much he's always been needed, right here in Colorado…where an unexpected match is in the making.
Publishers Weekly Bestselling, award-winning author of over 50 novels and two million books in print, Deb Kastner enjoys writing contemporary inspirational and sweet western stories set in small communities, often including animals as major secondary characters.
Deb lives in beautiful Colorado with her husband, her puppers Gabby and Sadie, and two mischievous bonded brothers, black tuxedo cats Hype and Dab. She recently went through what she terms her midlife crisis and adopted her very first ever real live horse whose name is sweet Moscato.
She is blessed with three adult daughters and two grandchildren with #3 on the way. Her favorite hobby is spoiling her grandchildren, but she also enjoys reading, watching movies, listening to music (The Texas Tenors and The High Kings are her favs), singing in the church choir and exploring the Rocky Mountains on horseback.
I enjoyed this book and how you see the growth of the characters. The relationships that develop and change show how even the best of people can struggle. We can struggle with faith, healthy relationships, and pride. Thank you Deb for an awesome read.
When Melanie shows up to organize Vince's office, he see his brothers hand in it. How to get rid of her is the big question. After touring the hospital/rehab with Vince, Melanie see him as a caring man and starts to understand his mission.
This book was really cute. An easy read, although it took me a while because I have 5 kids and I’m always so busy. I loved the love story in Colorado match. It was heart warming and made me really fall in love with love again :)
There is a book ahead of this one called The Marine's Baby. I have not read it but I think it would be good to read before this one as it has the other part of the story.
Vincent Morningway runs the family business, a lodge for the families visiting the nearby hospital.
His brother Nate, who always has been irresponsible and letting Vince do all the work has hired someone with his own money to bring the business up to date. Vince fights against having Melanie Fraser do anything with the business especially since being around her bothers him in other ways as well.
Melanie had a step father who threw around religion as the reason for needing to discipline so she had no faith. She cringed that she was at a place involving God but as she watched Vince live out the true Christian life amongst his struggles she asked Christ into her life as well.
