This book was much more difficult to follow than the first and not because the content was more complex, rather because the material wasn't as interesting. During the first two I was having fun reading the books and performing labs, but I started losing interest about halfway through the book. I think if your goal is to become a DBA, then this book is necessary, but if you're just trying to improve your querying skills, then I would skip this one.
