Really enjoyed the insight into Kerry Daynes life and some of her beliefs. It gave me a new respect of people with mental health disorders and the challenges of dealing the outdated British Justice system. Worth a read, everyone would come away rememebering at least one story and retelling it.

Took me a long time to finish because I'm not particularly fond of non fiction genre but I'm fascinated by books about crime and the mind and reading a book from.the perspective of a Forensic Psychologist was the best of both worlds for me.
Until it wasn't.
I wonder why books like this aren't more popular. Our system is screwed when it comes to getting to the root of.crime and that of mental health and their rehabilitation. But such topics are swept under.the rug as if they don't matter when the lives of millions of people depend on such details.
Media gives more importance to news about the latest football games or how beautiful the latest serial killer is than using their platform to raise issues that are actually important.
What is the reason most people turn to crime? What are the best methods for dealing with such criminals? What might be the ways to bring these criminals back to their default settings of humanity?
But that shit is never discussed. Some well to do people even think that talking about such matters is bad and immoral. And that will corrupt your mind. It's a taboo. And I agree with the author that we need open conversations, better legislations and collective effort to bring down the crime rate and improve the system of providing rehab to criminals and victims both.
There's no us and them. There's only us.

Not so long ago, i read Talking with serial killers by Christopher Berry-Dee and it was gruesome. The details are so disturbing yet i cannot stop myself from reading it. So i thought this book would be as disturbing as that book but turns out it’s an unruffled read. Its nice, because i get to see a glimpse of what its like to be a forensic, its the dangers and risks. However after reading it, i feel like there’s a lot more things that i don’t know about this field (in a good way as its motivates ne to learn more).

Such a deeply insightful read.As someone who is endlessly fascinated by the human mind, the workings of the brain and our human stories, this was a very affirming and enriching read.

It also really made me think and question - always a winner, being such a curious soul !
Learning is an aphrodisiac to me and I hope that I’ll be curious my entire life.

Sexy knowledge is definitely a thing !

This book added extra depth and also confirmation to thoughts I already had, as well as really expanding on my last read, “Inside Broadmoor”.

I expected a lot more, was gifted the book by a friend. Not really fond of the style of writing even though I know I was Keery Daynes's encounters as a forensic psychologist.

I wanted a lot more delving into some of the patients' psyche, having a psychology background myself. To me I was disappointing.

I listened to this book, narrated by Sara Poyzer. I found that the narrator expressed the writer’s words well. I enjoyed listening to the case studies as well as Dayne’s personal experiences. I’ve moved straight on to the sequel and I’m pleased to see that Sara Poyzer is narrating this too

Found this book in a cute used booked store in Phuket. It was an interesting read, love learning about the mind. Nothing crazy special but was great for lazy beach days while traveling.

This is a fascinating book.
I confess I struggled to read some of the content, however, it's a really good book and it makes you realise that psychologists are also humans.

Quite an eye opener. Points out why facts are important before running to conclusions.
