I would deem Machaelle Small Wright to be the most knowledgeable person on the planet as regards flower essences. First and foremost, she has direct access to the horse's mouth, so to speak, that is, the Nature Spirits and Devas, or perhaps Deva in the singular, who tell her all she needs to know about making the flower essences and about the qualities and applications of the specific essences.

I don't myself work in this field at all, though on reading the book I have become convinced of the absolute value of flower essence treatments.

There are two extensive passages by the Overlighting Deva of Flower Essences, one at the beginning and one at the end of the book. The first explains: "We of Nature consciously accepted a partnership with humans that related to the development of their physical form and ... the upkeep and maintenance of that form ...". Also, "we took on the responsibility to balance the human form during times of dysfunction." "There is contained within Nature a pattern of healing that responds and relates to every specific dysfunction within mankind." "... it is the plant kingdom that we primarily utilize for infusing into the blueprint human healing patterns." This explains how flower essences are so valuable for our systems.

Machaelle begins by introducing us to Perelandra, her home and nature research centre, explains about her "co-creative energy gardening" and provides us with definitions of "devas" and "nature spirits".

In the first chapter she explains how the Perelandra Flower Essences are made. Then we are given definitions of each of the Perelandra garden Essences and the Perelandra Rose Essences. These definitions identify "the specific healing pattern that has been released from the flower into the water". She provides us also with short definitions for easy access. For example, "Cauliflower: Stabilizes and balances the child during the birth process", "Dill: Assists individual in reclaiming power balance one has released to others. Victimization." and "Summer squash: Restores courage to the person who experiences fear and resistance when faced with daily routine, Shyness. Phobia."

The book explains how we can get our own definitions from the Deva of flower essences for those flowers and vegetables not listed. This is quite an exciting process in my opinion. I haven't tried it myself, of course, since I have at present no desire, or rather time, to work with producing essences. Perhaps in another life.

There is a useful and detailed chapter on "Kinesiology: the Tool for testing". This includes a passage by Universal Light. And there's a chapter on when to use flower essences.

Machaelle describes the process involved in the basic flower essence test and advises about surrogate testing, testing for others.

There is a long chapter on additional flower essence procedures, including peeling and telegraph testing. Sometimes whatever is making you feel unwell or unbalanced is in layers and the peeling process removes the layers one by one until you become clear. Telegraph testing is a tool to move through symptoms at lightning speed, minutes instead of hours or days. by the use of visualization or focus. (It's a bit complicated to explain so you will need to read the book, if you're interested in this,)

There are sections about testing your family or group, on another process called the two-week essence process, on finding out causes of past problems, essences and the death process and essences and animals.

Machaelle is intelligent and articulate, and the book is extremely well-written, everything being explained in absolute detail. I don't think you could find a more qualified exponent on flower essences than this expert, her explanations being backed up by theoretical statements by such high beings as the Deva of Flower Essences and Universal Light.

I thoroughly recommend this book to all those interested in flower essences.

The pervasive idea that truth that does not escape our body's electrical systems is so distilled by Small and by using the muscle testing techniques of kinesthesiology it is EASILY accessible to us all. The wisdom of the Devas and her access to them is encouraging to those of us who have not fully explored what has been revealed to us.
