I definitely liked this best out of the three Level 1 readers -- it had the most compelling story and some actual characterization. Unlike το περίπτερο στην Αριστοτέλους, although mostly dialogue, it also contained narration, which made it much easier to follow.
The only thing that was really 'what were they thinking' to me was ο κύριος Hudson, the English dude who doesn't speak very good Greek. Whose words were therefore all misspelled (to represent mispronunciations) and whose syntax/word choice probably contained errors. Eeek. Not appropriate, in my opinion, in a book aimed at language learners at such a low level (the errors were never acknowledged).
I liked it. I thought the romance was unnecessary + also that it was Totally unbelievable that the police would not follow up on their ONLY LEAD for this missing person's case which Must have been the largest case their department had had in years. Anyway, my favorite character was Marilou.
