I am so stinkin' excited about this book. God's timing is beautiful! Only on Chapter one and I am so encouraged.

There are times when you realize you need spiritual work on your heart and mind. A redecorating of the inner house. It's been a difficult year and I was feeling my weakness so pulled this book off my shelf. Each morning, as I sat outside, Mimi Wilson helped me set a bit more of myself in order. It wasn't that I learned anything new--but was reminded of things I let slip. Sometimes they were very simple: "Thank God everyday" other times more in depth "become a communicator of peace to others." Nothing new--but things of which I needed to be reminded. The last chapter probably summarized where I've gotten off track the most--feeling a gap between the ordinary & eternity--getting wrapped up in ordinary & pressured days. If you need such reminders (and I think at times we all go through these phases) sit down, read and meditate on the truths in this book--for the good of your own soul and the blessing you can be to others.

Holy Habits is a treasure trove of spiritual wisdom. I took my time with this book. The first part of the book centers on what our part of a daily focus on God is all about. The second, and my favorite, section of the book is about God’s part or his work in our transformation resulting from these holy habits. At the end of each chapter there are ten questions for study. At first, I answered each question. But after finishing the first two chapters of questions, I found that the questions were a distraction from the meat of each chapter. So I abandoned the questions and worked on internalizing the wisdom and depth of each chapter. I learn best from the practical application of the stories that the authors share from their own lives. So glad I read this book.

Such a refreshing devotional style book, which typically I find somewhat trite if written by women. This is not an indictment against women writers, just sometimes their "sharing" gets a bit too emotional and off-topic with too many life-illustrations. There was some of that included in this joint work by two sincere ladies. However the excellent and incisive questions more than made up for any perceived faults. I liked the inclusion of plenty of Scripture to consult for the questions and I learned enough to whet my appetite for more of these books.

I really liked this book. An unusually good companion to your spirituality as an elder. Inspired by this book, I have also written a blog on Spiritual Habits. You must also read my blog, it is very interesting Visit Here

Originally I gave this title 4 stars. I am revising my stars to zero.

The reason I am doing so is that since reading this title, several things about my faith journey and expression have changed and I no longer subscribe to evangelical ideologies.

A few friends and I read this together for a little bible study. I read ahead and finished the book! I enjoyed all the insight his book has to offer and the Holy Habits are a great reminder of things to do daily, weekly, etc.

This book was chosen by my bible study in Baku. I am so glad they chose it! It focused on the attributes of God and brought me into a closer relationship with Him. I read it slowly, and took my time to answer the questions after each chapter. I'm also going to continue to keep this book on my kitchen table so I can review the habits she recommends and put them into practice. She also has a list of recommended readings at the back which I will follow since the attributes of God is a topic I'm passionate about.

Although this isn't a specifically LDS Christian book (which I am) fundamentally it goes right along with my beliefs, when taking into account the characteristics of the god- head. It has helped me learn to create my own personal worship in my devotionals, not just relying on Sunday services. Learning the names and some personalities of God had helped me think of Him more often and has softened my heart in many ways. This was a life altering book for me.

Excellent devotional - Names of God! I loved the practical ideas as to how to see Christ working in my life, how to worship Him in all I do. I loved how Mimi used examples and illustrations from her life to share with us our need to know Christ more and more! Very inspiring!

This was an awesome book. Very doctrinally sound and a benefit to anyone who wants to grow deeper in their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Messiah, and by believing in Him we have eternal life, end of story.

This book isn't what I had hoped it to be, but there are some good parts and I am going to persevere and finish it. I am reading it each morning as part of my quiet time.

An honest and simple look at what day-by-day holiness could look like. Encouraging and challenging in equal amounts.
