Hushed, the fourth book in the Witches of Santa Anna series of novellas....
Natalia Moore is the new girl at Santa Anna Prep, and all she wants to do is fly under the radar -- get to her classes, meet a few friends, and try not to make a total fool of herself in the meantime. But when handsome and popular Campbell Elliot goes out of his way to be nice to the new girl, Natalia's plan to go unnoticed flies out the window.
Cam's hot, but he's completely off-limits. Raine Marsden, the most popular and meanest girl in school, has had her eye on him ever since the summer. And Raine doesn't like competition.
When Cam goes as far as inviting Natalia to the exclusive weekend party at Raine's house, Raine sets her sights on a new victim. But what Natalia doesn't know is that Raine and her friends are no ordinary mean girls. They have powers most people can only dream of, and nobody will stand in the way of what they want. And what Raine wants is Campbell.
Hushed is the fourth book in The Witches of Santa Anna series of novellas, a series that proves just how far true love will go and that nothing--not even pure evil--can change your destiny.
These books are fast becoming quite intense, the mystery is spell binding, I can't help wondering what the hell is going on...
This time Cam seems to have discovered something that is tied in with the 'goings on' but he can't prove it and Natalia looks as though she may be believing him. Becca and Aiden? Please!!!
I am dying to find out what the hell is going on, but even more, I want to know how it is going to be sorted!
Moving onto Book #4 Hushed, at the end of Book #3 Rumoured we read as Cam watched Raine and the girls perform their witchy spells. Hushed continues with Cam involving his friend Aiden from the first book - the friend who was left out and telling him that he is right about the Triad that they are witches. Cam finds a black butterfly necklace in Raine's locker and knows that this has something to do with her magic. With Aiden now knowing, things are heating up as Raine gets Becca to handle Aiden so he can stop snooping around and fall in line with her plans. Homecoming is coming up and Raine and Cam are going together which leaves Brody and Natalia to dance the night away together. Natalia is unsure about attending but her friend Anastasia pushes her to agree and say yes. Natalia also has been getting creepy texts from Derek and it has something to do with the butterflies she has been seeing. Will Cam be able to help Natalia make sense of what has been happening or will he fall deeper under Raine's spell before she can speak to him?
Like the previous books, Hushed - Book #4 was a quick read novella that ends on a cliffhanger.
The 4th book in The Witches of Santa Anna series, and again I am a little disappointed in the length of this book, another 20 minute read.
Although the content of the book does not disappoint! Again we are thrown into the world of Nat and Cam, and this time the secret of the Triad is out!
The discovery of a black butterfly necklace is all it takes to convince Nat that there is something strange going on with the 3 most popular girls in school, combined with a strange ex-boyfriend who keeps appearing and the new relationship between Cam's best friend and one of the triad I am dying to know what happens next, and hopefully the next book will wrap up the story.
Hmm well now we’re finally getting to the nitty gritty. Which EXCUSE ME but I thought the parts to a book were introduction finding out a problem having a climax and then the conclusion. As much as I love these books I am kind of getting annoyed with this whole pretend book crap. If the author just put these together or called them PARTS I’d get over it. But this epidemic of self published book nonsense is making my writing career unappealing to me. And that is not okay. Overall this part is good I can kind of guess what’s going to happen yet I have no idea. I still love the love triangle happening but I’m wondering a few obvious things here. Why didn’t Raine notice the necklace missing? What really is Brody’s involvement in it?
So, I'm up to book 4 in this crazy, nutty teen witch series, and with each one being so short and random it's getting a little difficult to review them. But, here we go -- I'll do my best.
As we've learned in the last few books, Natalia, the new girl, has the hots for Cam, who also likes Natalia but is weirdly entangled with his loony ex Raine, and has additionally been threatened by his best friend Brody not to see Natalia (even though Brody is now, for some reason, pursuing Nat instead). As Nat and Cam have gotten closer, both have received random stalkerish threats, both have been semi-hallucinating and blacking out for no good reason, and both have been having dreams and visions of creepy black butterflies.
Being as slow as these folks are, it takes them a while to think that maybe Raine and her psycho "Triad" are witches -- until Cam randomly stalks Raine's locker and discovers a creepy black butterfly necklace, which somehow is the ticket to Cam and Nat realizing these chicks are insane. So now one of the popular witchy girls is stalking one of Cam's unpopular nerdy friends, and somehow Nat and Cam are both afraid they're going to be killed or trapped under some weird teenage magical spell.
Sounds random? It is. I'm pretty close to losing interest, but Il'l give this at least 2 more books, I think...
Review : BOOK 4 this book was very creepy in ways like the butterfly's cam finds a butterfly necklace in Riane's locker and he also thinks Brody and Riane are both in on this witch thing and they want to hurt Cam and Natalia also homecoming Riane asks Cam and Natalia isn't sure she even wants to ask Brody but her friend Anastasia tells her to because of the way he looks at her and when Cam shows Natlalia the necklace she knows something is wrong cause whenever something bad happens she sees a butterfly and she is getting stalker texts from her ex.
I said it about rumored but Hushed is definitely my favourite of the series. In this book i started to really hate raine, with all the rumors she started to spread about natalia. i was really glad about the butterfly aspect of the book as i was wondering why there were butterfly's on every cover. overall this was such an awesome book even tho as usual super short. now i am going to be waiting very impatiently for the next book.
Now I am really wanting to know what happens next! These little novellas do not last long to keep me in suspense because I read through them way too fast. Very interesting stuff. Now Cam and Natalia know too much about Raine. But is Brody in on it and can they save Aiden?
I'm starting to lose interest with all of the abrupt endings in these books. Additionally, I 'm not too that I like one of the main characters, Campbell, very much. He is a little condescending and eliteist.
Things are starting to get creepy! But there is something I don't get here. Are those three girls witches, vampires or demons? All I see all the time is that they can control people and suck the life out of them. Really I expected something more...witchy?
This series of books are really short answer didn't do much for me.... They didn't make much since and they kind of made me bored through out the series
Slightly better end to this one, Still really short I can read each book within half hour or less. Fairly good story though, I am looking forward to seeing whats goign to happen.
