This booklet contains two individual writings. "Is Christmas Christian" revised edition by Michael Schneider, and "Christmas: An Historical Survey Regarding Its Origins and Opposition to It" revised edition.
This used to be a "handbook" of mine that I used and used often to combat the evils of Christmas. For near twenty years we were part of a Reformed crusade to rid the church of Christ-mass. The first year of my marriage, we had a tree, but then for the next twenty years we never took part. Our children grew up never experiencing it, until around 2006, about five days before Christmas, when I had a lengthy phone conversation with one of the authors of this book. Pastor Schneider revealed to me that he recanted his anti-Christmas stance a few years earlier, and after that conversation and a couple others with other Reformed pastors, we literally switched our views overnight, and two days before Christmas went out and bought a tree. Further study since that time has brought me to believe that much of what I had formerly been taught about the holiday may not be as clear cut as I had thought, and we have been celebrating now for a couple years, and I must tell you, the weight of the situation being lifted from my shoulders has brought much more peace and joy to me and my family than ever we had in our hatred for the season.
