Shane never prepared to do what no other Leopard shifter had done before and that was fall in love. Try telling that to his heart, though, because from the first touch of a certain Panther named Trevor, there was no turning back for Shane. Then just as Shane found his mate and true happiness, Trevor is brutally torn from him when a Cobra shifter, bent on revenge, captures the Panther. Now Shane finds himself helpless as he scrambles to find his lover before the Cobra enacts his final act of vengeance and kills Trevor.
Ever since his captivity, Trevor has known pain. He's known degradation. He's known terror. However, he also knows that Shane will be coming for him. And gods help the Cobra when Shane finally does arrive because hell hath no equal to a Leopard's fury. Trevor only hopes that Shane finds him in time, or else all hope will be lost.

A continuation of the previous story. Trevor has been kidnapped by the ruthless cobra shifter, Shane is losing his mind looking for him and there will be no mercy when he finds Trevor’s abductor. There is also the beginning of the story between hawk shifter Colin and eagle shifter Riley. The Riley’s odd behavior to have sex in public with the twin hawks while Colin walked in; would have really bothered me if I haven’t read the book “Riley's Regret”. I understood then both Riley’s behavior and Colin caring nature.
I am expected some emotional scenes from Shane, especially since Trevor, the only one he has ever loved, has been kidnapped. Also some scenes from Trevor's part, how he is in the captive ... but what I get is
(1) An introduction for a new character, Dalton, that starts the book in the first chapter, and then he seems to have some sort of brother/hero worship to Shane, and pretty much stealing the first section of the book. I don't mind a new character, really. I also think it's cute in the end on how Shane and Trevor seem to adopt this kid. But it sort of taking away the focus of Shane and Trevor, and this is supposed to be their book.
(2) Same thing happens with Riley (the Eagle) and Colin (the mentor Hawk). Again, I don't mind tidbits or tease about the next couple. We do have Shane and Trevor introduced in similar way in book #8 -- but book #8 is an after HEA story of Noah and Seth. Not to mention the M/M/M scene between Riley and the twins, which while consented, is not what I'm truly looking for in a romance. Trevor has been portrayed as slut and I remember him and Ranger back in Noah's story as well, BUT, when he is on the path of being with Shane, there is nothing like what Riley's done to Colin. It just doesn't fit my liking
So I guess, as a sequel to a cliffhanger, this book fails to satisfy me. There are too many distractions to the main couple, the core of it, which is Shane and Trevor. I prefer to have shorter story to focus ONLY on Trevor and Shane's attempt to save him, rather being presented stories from other characters.

Not nearly enough Shane and Trever. This could have been kept to one book if the Riley and Colin carry on was left out! I have to agree with B here that particular scene with the twins was not necessary and while I don't mind a sexy menage I wasn't expecting it here and it kind of lessened the enjoyment for me!
Was really glad Shane and Trever got their HEA tho! Their part of the story was pretty damn great! Shane kicked arse!

The story was to short and to fast, and actually it could have been put in book 9, but hey why would the author who wants more money do that, no way. Smarter is to milk people for money even if the story is not worth it. I don't recommend the purchase, rather wait and get it by other means.
I am giving this one star because I honestly can’t rate it with anything higher since it’s a book I wish I hadn’t read.
I was really looking forward to the continuation of Trevor and Shane’s story but it was pretty short and most of it was spent on the reader getting to know new characters, it lacked any real Trevor-Shane time together which was my favourite part of the previous one.
The reason for the low rating however was Riley’s scene close to the end of the book. I sat through it thinking this can't be happening over and over.
I can't believe I was so excited about his and Colin's story and the fact that there seems to be a reason for the scene does nothing for me, because at the end of the day, it still happened and nothing short of Colin getting a HEA with somebody else would satisfy me really. Riley being young doesn't justify it either since I'm 20 myself and would be insulted to be lumped into a category with him because of his age.
I think the worst part for me was the fact that it happened in a Stephani Hecht book, I’ve read a lot of mm books and felt disappointed by a fair share of them but I trusted this author and I felt really let down. I think back to previous books like Mitchell’s in which he never wanted anyone other than Dean or how Noah couldn’t go through with sleeping with Trevor and Ranger or how Trevor couldn't have sex with anyone other than Shane and can't reconcile this book with rest. I feel like I’ve lost the last bit of innocence I had with regards to mm romance, I never thought it would happen because of a Stephani Hecht book and the saddest thing is that now I’ll always be wary when I open one of her books. I don't think that next book will be Riley's either.
EDIT: After speaking to Stephani about what's in store for Riley and Colin I've decided to read his book. However, I won't change my rating or review because I still feel my reasons for it were valid. I am after all rating this specific story and not a future one, even though Riley's reason were powerful enough to make me keep an open mind for his book.
One of the best new series out. Lost Shifters blends action with romance and erotica very well. I can't wait to see how thing play out with Trevor and Shane!
I hate to take a break from the series because I was on shifter overload. Just finished the book and I must say it's one of my favorites in the series mainly because of Shane's transformation. I get why everyone was turned of of Riley too but things will work out I'm sure. I liked the addition of Dalton too, way too cute.
After the awesome cliffhanger in the last book, I had high hopes for this one and couldn't help but feel disappointed. I was surprised that the story opened with a chapter all about Dalton and I couldn't remember if we had been introduced to him before so it was a little distracting. When we finally got to Shane and Trevor, I settled in to read about all the good stuff but then it switched to Riley and Colin. I must admit that I'm not happy with Riley's behavior either. He was bemoaning the fact that no one thought he had anything worthwhile to contribute to the coalition other than his good looks, so for him to go whoring around with the twins (and in such a public manner too) just confirmed what everyone thought. Not exactly the best way for him to change his reputation. I don't know if he was trying to make Colin jealous, but the end result just seemed demeaning for him and I thought the scene could have been skipped altogether. Maybe it's building up for the next book, but at least the others with similar reputations in their past - like Noah and Trevor - couldn't go through with sleeping around and to me that made their relationships with their mates more special. It irritated me that I was even bothered by Riley because this was supposed to be about Shane and Trevor. I worried about Trevor's potential inability to resist other men when the spider's venom was in his system and what that would do to his and Shane's relationship. They're one of my favorite couples in this series and they had enough to deal with already so I'm glad it ended on such a sweet note for them. I loved it when Shane showed his true emotions for his man. I don't know what's in store for Riley and Colin, but Riley better not be boo-hooing about what he did because he did it deliberately so I hope it was worth it. And see? I'm still whining about Riley and this wasn't even his book.
Very disappointing. After reading The Assasin's Touch, which I loved for the record, I was going nuts to read this one because of the cliffhanger. And then...blech. This one shouldn't have been it's own book in any way. The resolution to Shane and Trevor was maybe *maybe* one-third of this story. The rest was spent on other characters.
Bummer. I ran head-long into this book after the cliff-hanger in An Assassin's Touch because I couldn't wait to read about Shane's FURY! Well, I was a little disappointed. Why?
First, too much real estate was spent on alternate characters. For example, we are introduced to Dalton, whom I really liked. He was cute and his hero-worship of Shane was understandable but it detracted from Shane's FURY, which irritated me.
Second, Colin and Riley. I can see setting up for a sequel but, again, waaaaaaaaaaaay too much was made of these alternate characters and teaching Riley how to fly. And, WTF was the three-way with Riley and the twins all about?!? That was totally unexpected and unappreciated, to the point that it turned me off to Colin and Riley's story. But most importantly ... it detracted from Shane's FURY!
Third, given all the detractions, Shane's FURY was a limp and watered-down version that was, frankly, underwhelming. I expected him to go ape-shit on Orion's ass. And although he did, it was anti-climatic by the time I got to it because of all the other crap I had to wade through.
Bottom-line: I still love Shane and Trevor but this installment did not live up to its name.
I'm not sure what to think - The Lost Shifters is one of my favorite series. I was looking forward to a satisfying conclusion to the Shane and Trevor story and it didn't quite get there for me.
I so wanted more of the leopard and his panther and for most of this book they were apart. I know some of that was to be expected just due to the storyline, but... It could have been good hurt/comfort, except the comfort really occured off page ("Even though it had been a full month since he'd been rescued...") 2 of 10 chapters were about Riley and his hawk shifter. The newly introduced lynx is a cute character but in my mind detracted from the primary story - I wanted MORE Shane and Trevor and it felt like it was setting up Lost Shifters 11 and 12. As others have commented, this story didn't need to be separated into two parts (book 9 and 10).
Overall, it would have made a more satisfying single story with more scenes of Shane and Trevor together - that's the relationship I wanted to be part of again.
Ok I'm not going to post a review. The ones previous do a nice job conveying my feelings toward this book. I am however going to go on a small rant about the word MEMORIES! In the first few books in this series the spelling and grammar were atrocious! What stuck out to me the most was how the author spelled the word memories, "memoires" She must have gotten a better spell checker for the last few, but now in Shane's Fury, she is back to spelling it wrong! I don't know why this bugs me so much, but after 10 books, come on!! Record it in your MEMORIES, how to spell it correctly!!
I give shane and trevor's story almost 4 stars because i loved them even though they didnt have a lot of screen time in this book. This had 3 other points of views and that just upsets me.... It's supposed to be shane and trevors book. I feel like Ms. Hecht could have just left shane and trevor's remaining pages in the lastbook instead of extending it with this....
As promised, I jumped immediately into this tenth installment of the 'Lost Shifters' series since the author did a once in a lifetime back-to-back books involving the same couple, Shane and Trevor, who also are my new favorites. At the end of the previous book, the cobra shifter, Orion, whom Shane has been hunting for several months, attacked and kidnapped Trevor. Since it happened on the same day that Shane and Trevor mated and said "I love you" for the first time, it was really bad timing on Orion's part. And, yes, I am that bloodthirsty that I want Shane to drag out this kill and make it hurt! *grins* Shane immediately goes after every nest of snakes hunting Trevor down and mercy isn't a part of his vocabulary. *rubs hands together in glee*
"Brent slid a worried glance at Dalton.'This part may get kind of froggy so you might want to hide your eyes.' Dalton blinked in astonishment. Things were actually going to get worse? Then he recalled the way Kirk had been eyeing him up and the inner predator in him surged to the front. After everything Kirk had done, it would feel so damn good to see the snake experience some of the very pain he was so good at dishing out. Karma was a bitch and today she was using Shane as her weapon. 'No, I want to see him suffer,' Dalton said, cringing a little at the way his voice shook a bit. Brent cocked a brow. 'Are you sure? Shane isn't exactly buddies with the Geneva Convention.'"
This was awesome! I loved it! Watching Shane trying to find Trevor while Orion mailed him video of them torturing Trevor was heartbreaking. On the other hand, the author did a great job setting the stage for the next couple and I'm looking forward to that. I'm having such fun reading this series. Thanks, Stephani.

Another good book starring my favorite Shifter, Shane. In this book, Shane has been searching for his mate, Trevor, who was kidnapped at the end of the last book. This book definitely did not adhere to the formulas of the last books in the series and was more a continuation of An Assassin's Touch. While this book developed Shane and Trevor's relationship more, it also served to introduce a lot of new characters to include Dalton, a rare lynx shifter, who was being held with Trevor by a nasty Cobra villain named Orion.
I enjoyed this book and had just as much faith in Trevor that Shane would save the day.
I wanted more with Shane and Trevor - together! But I got this.... It would have worked so much better if the whole story of Trevor's kidnapping had been included in the previous book.
And the scene with Riley and the twins? WTF? We don't know Riley enough to have a scene like that thrown in. And not in a book that's supposed to be about an other couple. It just messed up the storyline. There was no one in that scene who was relevant to the storyline of this particular book. It just didn't fit.
This review is for all of the Lost Shifters, Wayne County Wolves, and Assassin's Loyalty books since they are all interconnected and I read them back-to-back pretty much nonstop over a 10 day period. If I have anything to say about a particular book I'll add it under this bulk review. First, I'd like to mention these are more like novellas than books but they have the same underlying theme and pretty much continue where the last left off but with a different couple.
Everything starts out with the Lost Shifters. To summarize there was a war between the feline shifters and the raven shifters. 20 years or so before the first book there was an all out slaughter in which hundreds of feline homes were attacked and burned down all of the occupants believed to be killed. Turns out that the babies and toddlers that were assumed lost were not. They were hidden within the human foster care system for the most part. I won't say how because that'd be a big spoiler. In addition to foster care some kids were sold into slavery and that's where the whole assassin thing comes in. A couple of the main characters marry into the wolf pack so that's where those books come in as well.
Pros: Since the books are so short there are no long drawn out boring details or general angst. There's usually only one sex scene although it's normally long as hell. Which makes the fact some people shelved these as erotica confusing. I liked the world building and even though there were times I think a little more info might have been nice it never detracted from the story or left me confused. Most of the relationships were a sort of love at first sight thing. Or maybe lust or obsession? Despite this the shifters all seem adamant that's not a thing that happens. There wasn't one character I didn't like. My favorite character was Shane and he must have been the author's as well since he got a few extra books and a side series Shane's Chronicles. There's no big end battle or anything but the last book Baily's 9th Life does pretty much tie things up nicely. I think if I'd been reading the series when they were released I'd be a bit miffed because that book didn't come out until a few years later if you weren't reading the assassins books. Also, these books all have some really funny moments and/or dialog.
Cons: The last several books didn't appear to have been edited at all. If if wasn't for the fact that I was so invested in the overall story arc I would have quit reading them. Things like sent instead of scent and too instead of to they instead of them and random wrong words completely. There were also a couple of times that things were said/thought almost verbatim in different parts of a book as if the author forgot she'd already put that info in there already. At the start of the series, they state that all feline shifters are bisexual but at some point the author must have forgotten that detail because suddenly there are gay shifters and homophobia and all this hate. Which brings me to my next con, the themes of the different books started to repeat. Suddenly all these shifters had been thrown out of their previous pack or coalition or human home for being gay. And throughout this huge series of books there was only one straight couple. Like not even a straight friend or whatever. Even the females were all lesbians. It was just kinda unrealistic especially with the whole gay hate thing going on. Usually there's at least a few couples or friends or something on the periphery in gay romances especially in a world this huge. Which brings me to my final con, I had a hard time remembering who was who and what there story was after awhile especially if they weren't mentioned much in previous books. I wish there had been some sort of glossary to review.
Despite the cons, I would still recommend these books. All-in-all I really enjoyed them and was dreading the end although the editing in the last few books really had me also looking forward to the end if I'm being honest.
What an angel he turned out to be Trevor is happy with his mate. Crazy as hell but he knows his mate must be out of his mind to care for him the way he does.
So far my favorite book in the saga (I've only read two, but still). I just loved the angst and emotions involved in this book. I'm a huge fan of drama, what can I say.
I think the change in Shane is the biggest disappointment. He lost a lot of his uniqueness. Part of what made him so interesting was his complete lack of understanding for social norms and behaviours. Here he quips with the rest of them, keeps comparing things to normality and verbally expresses his emotions like any other of the author’s characters. His repressed, cold speech patterns are completely gone, together with the confusion he used to show about what upset people about him. But it’s the banter that really gets to me. He was not this chatty and certainly did not joke around with either his victims or allies. He was straight to the point and had no filter to speak of, but also no use for extraneous pop culture references. This is all kinds of wrong.
We get lots of POVs, some of them long enough that they appear to overtake the story. So this isn’t really a Shane & Trevor story, but rather something to set up and progress future plots. As such, most of this book consists of a big intro to the upcoming Riley & Colin story. That one still makes me uncomfortable and I am not looking forward to it. I’m just so fed up with jerkish tops and promiscuous bottoms (although I am feeling sorry for Riley rather than blame him).
The “big”, climactic rescue scene ends up being utterly anticlimactic and a bit cheesy. Finally we get a bit of wrap up and the obligatory sex scene, which frankly bored me. I could detect nothing special to the characters in it. Too generic and pointless.
This is the continuation of the last book and the story bring us with Shane killing a group a snake, yum. We also meet a new character name Dalton who is a lynx shifter and they are equally rare as the eagle shifter. Dalton imprinted on Shane because he know that he will protect him because he heard from Trevor, when they were held captive, that he will come and find him so he thought so as well. With that in mind Shane look for his mate until final he gets a lead and it belong to none other then his mother who at first he did not believe but went with it to see for himself. Will Shane find his mate in time or will it be too late for Trevor to survive if Shane does not make it on time.
We get to see a side a Shane that he try so hard to hide but instead of be a turn off it show how much he care for Trevor and he will do anything to safe him and bring him back where he belong and that is in his arm. I also like how Trevor did not lose faith that Shane will come and safe him because he know that he means a lot to him and that they are each other mate. I also like Dalton and his cute way and how he saw Shane as a big brother and I also love how confusing it was to him but in the end he just went with it.
The only down side to this book was that there was a threesome, I'm saying who they are but all I can said that it was birds. I do not like threesome and I would have like if they gave a warning so I can skip that part. Overall, it was a good book to read and past the time with.
I put off reading this for a long time because I knew it would be difficult. It is part 2 of the last book, where Trevor, psycho leopard Shane's mate was kidnapped by the cobra bad guy. Shane's going insane trying to find him. This however combines a couple of other stories, or beginnings of such. Riley is an eagle shifter, probably the only one in the world, and he is afraid of heights and is under hawk Colin's tutelage. It seems all Colin does is yell at him and tell him how shitty he is. When Riley finally makes a move, Colin tells him no, but is then stunned when Riley has sex with hawk twins. (I know some people had issues with this, but I was fine and it all makes sense nest book.) As well, when on the search when Trevor they find Dalton a young captive who was near Trevor before he was sold to some other snakes and thinks the sun rises and sets on Shane because of Trevor's stories. Dalton ends up kind of like their foster son. I love Shane. I know he's a psycho assassin, but he's adorable. LOL I loved how everyone was so confused by Dalton's hero worship and it still kind of annoys me that they are happy to have Shane kill someone for them, but don't want to be around him much. However he and Trevor are cute as a bug in a rug.
Shane is one shifter that I don't see getting beat, he is just to bad-ass for that. I have never thought of him as someone with no feelings, like how everyone always made him out to be, so I am glad that his books showed just how much he does feel. I have to say that he is one of my Faves out of this series.
Though what I didn't like was how they put Shane's and Trevor story in to parts, it didn't have to be that way cos it's not like Shane's fury was the whole book, cos as teh book goes it always just about Shane and his fury it was about Riley and Colin as well. I don't think the book should have been called Shane's fury for the fact it wasn't just about him. Then there was Dalton as well, though he wasn't in it much and the parts he was in did make sense, cos he was with Trevor so I can understand his part in the book, but why have a book called Shane's Fury but talk about other people as well like she did. That's the only thing that made it so I didn't rate this book that high.
It was good for what it was, but it could have been done differently.
I really love the shifter series as whole but this book I found to be a big let down. It's really two stories - the end of the last book and the start of the next book and does not work as a stand alone book. I really enjoyed Trevor and Shane's story and had this already to go on my kindle for when I finished the last book and was really looking forward to this so I was disappointed that it firstly isn't totally focused on them and the parts that are focused on them just felt watered down. The other pairing which take up the majority of the book could have been interesting but the introduction here left me not liking them and even though the author tries to show how it all connects up in the next book it just didn't come together for me at all and I've ended up really disliking Colin and Riley as a result. I would have rather have paid more for longer books 9 and 11 and skipped this all together.
I do wish there had been more of Shane and Trevor in this book but this was more about the rescue so understandable. The story bounced around a lot which made it feel even shorter. I didn't have a problem with Riley like others had. I think he had a lot of the same issues as Trevor and with Colin not even trying with him he was just seeking out a place of belonging. It may sound stupid and weak to some but with Riley's character it is understandable. I do hope it all works out for him and Colin. I loved the ending of this story with Shane and Trevor. One little niggle was that the spelling and grammar weren't very good. It was a shame that it lost me in a few places because I had to reread to understand a sentence. Overall it was a lighter read.
It was supposed to be the sequel to An Assassin's Touch, you know. And as a sequel you expect it to develop the characters and their relationship. To focus on them. But no. Like there wasn't enough characters already, the beginning is all about someone else.
And you have a lot of passages with other couples. Sigh. I mean, I didn't buy this bought to read about others. I bought it to read about Shane and Trevor and this freaking Cobra.
It feels like nothing is ever finished and the series is about promoting the next books.
