To the casual observer Felicity Devon's life seems ideal. She lives on an island off the coast of Queensland and successfully runs the art gallery that her mother began. She loves her work, her family and her good friends. And as for love? Well, it's been eight long years since Bailey Macrae walked away and broke Felicity's heart... choosing career and conventional lifestyle over love. Eight long years - and Felicity is finally moving on. Then Felicity learns that Bailey - the face of Australian current affairs television - is returning to the island, and suddenly her hard-won composure is being put to the test. Felicity soon discovers that she isn't quite sure what she fears the most - that Bailey will want to pick up where they left of... or that she won't...
Lyn Denison was born and still resides in Brisbane, Australia, and attended school in Brisbane and Charters Towers. Before making writing a full-time career, Lyn was a librarian. Apart from reading, Lyn enjoys genealogy, scrapbooking, photography, playing her 12-string guitar and chatting with friends.
Lyn Denison has been a pioneer of the lesbian book since 1990, when she released her first book. She has written over twenty books formerly published by Bella Books. The 90s were not yet very open to lesbianism. but since that date she has been able to write lesbian romances with sexual relations. Many lesbian books today would not be published if some authors had not taken the lead. Read,The Wild One, Gold Fever, among others. Read her books and see the modernity of what she wrote.
Nice plot just a shame the story developed so slowly, i had the urge to flip through the pages to find the good parts. It hard to explain on one side i'd say that it was a dull read but on the other hand i was curious about the characters and what would happen further.
The Feel of Forever is another great read from Lyn Denison. Fliss and Bailey are amazing characters, each fighting demons from their past, not the least of which is their love affair eight years ago. Time and trials have gone by, but Bailey's return throws everything into a spin for Fliss, especially when truths come to light that paint a fuller picture of what led Bailey to leave Fliss behind. Great story, great characters, and fabulous wit! Don't miss it.
Lyn Dennison has a special way of telling a story that makes your heart feel good. This book does exactly that. It is a beautifully told story where young love appears but it disappears. Heartbreak follows and then eight years later life around the two comes full circle. Each having lived their own tragic journey. But is it enough to take another chance. A must read! I loved it 🥰
I read this many years ago' and was excited to see it in audio; so' I had to give it a listen. This is a fluffy, feel good romance. While there was heartache and some struggle, it was still a happy book with a good cast of characters. The kind of people we all wish we had in our lives. It's wonderful to see F/F books in audio format. So, thank you for bringing me back years and giving the experience more of a modern spin.
Second chance romance, but it never did go deep enough.
It took til 80% in for us to get the whole story, and the couple didn't really connect nor get back together until well after this point, and then it was over quickly.
This pulls on the heartstrings a little when the story of Fliss's heartbreak unfolds. The woman who broke her heart comes back to the island and seems intent on making things right. The story of their past is told in flashback gently as their present seems to be all tangled up in pain. A sweet love story.
