Layla has forever been in love with, Brody. He was her big brother’s best friend. On the day of the tragic car accident, it killed more than her brother, Paul, and a deer. It killed their relationship that had been just seconds prior, that he only moments before had been professing his love, to her brother for her, telling him that he would marry her one day. All gone, not just because her brother died but for the way, Brody slithered his way out of town leaving, Layla to grieve alone. To be blamed for her brother’s death by her family, and was kicked out the minute she turned seventeen, but being called a deer killer.
Now, two years later, here he is waltzing back into the bowling alley as if, no time had passed at all. Bringing his standard beer in his backpack, and is ready, to party. Well, she was, too. If nothing else she would use him, to get rid of her V-card, and so she did, and as she figured he had slithered on out, by morning. She was disappointed because she thought they at one time loved each other, but she knew he was no longer, the Brody she and, Paul once knew.
Eight years have passed, now. Brody has been living his life large, fast, and way too loose. It has all come to bite him in the arse. The LA Kings no longer wish, to play with him due, to a picture that will be coming out, and have been talking about suspending him. That is until, after the game, Sheila, his PR person told him, to lay low. Instead, he beat up a fellow teammate who is with his ex. Now, a ruling has been given, however, he is being cut. They now need a game plan but also need Brody out of the bright lights of LA. So, hometown life it is. The place with all the memories, and his girl that never was.
That is until the hurricane, called Sheila came into town. She is bound and determined that she can make all her game pieces come together, and make them fit. There is just one small problem with that, one of those pieces is a small sexy-as-hell, Layla. She would rather have my balls in a noose than, fake as his fiancee. But, add in exes, estranged parents, and sleaze media outlets, and you have the perfect storm, to fuel the flames of this story. Really enjoyed the characters, and the noted growth they went through, to be with one another, and not lose themselves.
