101 Uses for My Ex-Wife's Wedding Dress

Rate this book
A truly unique book about making the best of a bad situation - the hilarious true story based on Kevin Cotter's popular blog "My Ex-Wife's Wedding Dress". When Kevin's wife left him, she had no interest in grabbing her wedding dress on the way out. "What am I going to do with it?" he asked "Whatever the f**k you want," she replied. After careful consideration, he did what any newly-divorced man would do-made it into a scarecrow, pasta strainer, dental floss, and 98 other things-while posting accompanying photos, videos, and witty commentary on his website.

It was definitively a different take on a common problem. Divorce. But the sad thing is, even though I read this book, someday his kids are going to read it and the sticky details of his divorce. He did mention that there was no bitterness in using the dress, there had to be some emotion behind it.

When a man has his wife leave him, leaving her wedding dress behind he resorts to a series of uses to soil her gown, some are reuses of the same type of idea. He shares his story along the way. At the end he provides data about providing gowns to needy brides. Obsessed much?

Been reading his blog and interacting on twitter. Thus, I am thrilled to have this book in beautiful, glossy print! It's been my pleasure to watch his journey through the wondrous interwebs. Got to know him a little better as one of his first tweeps. Great guy that provides us with these excellent 101 Uses for My Ex-Wife's Wedding Dress. You should buy a copy, because he can't just give them all away. Even if you don't like to read, the pictures are well worth it and mostly self-explanatory. BUT, if you only look at the pictures, you'll miss the real story. It's often poignant and witty without being sappy or vindictive.

Found it at the library and had very low expectations. This was a surprisingly encouraging read and very fascinating. Additional plus - the guy is from Tucson and took the dress to a U of A football game.
