Lady Grace Hannington is the most inaptly named debutante in all of London. Cursed with two left feet, hands that are nothing but thumbs, and a stutter, she’s certain to spend the next five years on the wall and the rest of her life on the shelf. Or so she believes, until her clumsiness pitches her literally into the arms of Lord Colin Fitzgerald and his best friend, Atticus Stilwell.
Colin and Atticus have been inseparable since a shared boyhood tragedy brought them together more than twenty years ago. Though it raises eyebrows, they share everything…including women. This particular quirk has made it all but impossible for Colin, whose title and lands will revert to the crown if he doesn’t have a legitimate heir, to find a respectable lady who’s willing to be his wife.
When a stroke of good fortune—and a little intervention from a well-placed foot—gives the two men a golden opportunity to show the lovely and lonely Lady Grace she’s not quite so gauche as she believes, they play it (and her) for all they’re worth. But once she’s discovered her true talents lie not on the dance floor but in the bedroom, Grace must decide whether a scandalous marriage that’s sure to ruin her reputation is what she really wants.
I hate people that use this phrase: "IT IS WHAT IT IS"! But, guess what?! I'm a-gonna use it in describing this short novella! This was a fun, entertaining and very HOT, XX rated read. No depth to it, nothing to write home about. It was just what it is. A threesome romp. Period. If you need to read a hot and heavy threesome story, I say go for it, but if you want a meaningful love story, you'll be disappointed.
I enjoy menage stories but those in which the two men have to share a woman for some mystic-ass reason always bring on an "oh please" reaction. This is a historical, so the author tried to find a psychological reason rather than a science fictiony one, but it still reads like woo-woo. The historical parts of the story are none too original -- very clumsy, red-headed, extremely innocent heroine. Nonetheless, it was a pretty entertaining short read.
Lord Colin Fitzgerald and his best friend, Atticus Stilwell, share everything including women. They both set there eyes on Grace. She a virgin who is clumsy, and also ended up messing something up. Until she was offer a marriage proposal by Colin if she agree to have Atticus as well.
I like the plot of the story though I felt there could have been more details. It's a great book if you want a quickie or late night read.
Lady Grace is chosen by best friends Lord Colin Fitzgerald and Atticus Stillwell to be their woman - she will marry Colin and bear his heirs (regardless of the actual father) but the two men will share her affections. Improbable and not very romantic story - it was more erotica than romance IMO, even though there was a HEA. The beginning was very much like a transaction rather than a romance - I don't know why they chose Grace and I didn't believe it was more than lust (combined with the need for Colin to produce an heir) actually. It lacked any real character development even if it was only 53 pages. There was no relationshp between Grace and the two men shown to me and I didn't think it was remotely realistic. Their amorous activities were very adventurous for innocent virgin Grace but she seemed to take it in stride - somewhat remarkable given the level of, er, penetration and the lack of preparation. It made me a bit uncomfortable actually (and not just physically!).
Whew! I need a hand-fan while I read this one. For such a brief story, the author gave a nice glimpse of three personalities, and a long, full look at some sexy times. It’s completely enjoyable as it is, a bare-bones story that fulfills the subtitle “spice brief” perfectly, but I would have read a novella length version of this quite happily. I will definitely be checking out more of the author’s work.
