Brian Yester, a veteran of the Iraqi wars, seems to be the only person alive after the world is struck by a highly contagious and deadly flu pandemic. He struggles to carry on as he grieves for his dead family. Brian finally accepts his situation and devises a plan to find others who may have survived. After months of searching, he finds survivors and something more sinister than he could have ever imagined.
I enjoyed this short book quite a lot but didn't finish it the first time I started it. I think this was due to the fact I that I thought it would start pre-apocalypse and not post-apocalypse. The storyline is engaging but the main character a little weak. The worst part for me though was the prevalent spelling and grammar mistakes all the way through. It looks as though the author has used something like speech recognition software but then made no attempt to correct the inevitable mistakes that throws up. However, that said, I enjoyed the story and recommend it. I do not think I wasted the approximate 3 hours it took to read it.
