Mr. M the boy a difficult assignment. A public killing on the Fourth of July. In Vermont. Of a friend. Whom he really cared for.
A mission of great political significance he couldn’t fail to complete, because he would be assassinated if he did.
Faced with this impossible choice, the boy procrastinated until circumstances made further delay impossible. Then acted. Any boy of his age and experience would have done the same thing.
His First Kill: A Short Story I usually don't read short stories....because...well...I think they are too short! LOL But this one was filled with twists and turns and unexpected things. I loved it! It was a quick read (as I guess is the point of short stories lol) but it was enjoyable all the way through. Thank you John Brinling! It was a fun, unexpected read!
A young man is hired by Mr. "M" to kill a woman the boy has never met. He has the gun supplied to him and half the promised money, and is on the road to the town where he must do the deed. John Brinling does a nice job getting the reader into the head of the would-be hitman. Solid story with a bit of a twist.
This was a good story!! It was full of twists and each one was surprising. Just when you think you have it all figured out, the whole story changes. The story was well-written and even though the characters were not necessarily "good-guys" you couldn't help but like them. Very enjoyable read and definately worth the time!
"His First Kill" is a fun quick read! Even if you're not a fan of short stories, I think you will be pleasantly surprised with this story. Alot of twists and turns, the best one was the final one!
I just finished this short story and was blown away with the surprise ending. Enough said. Quick read and delightful Another great story by John Brinling.
