Always the BridesmaidBeing a beta in a family of mostly alphas and omegas made me uniquely prepared to take over event planning for Cosmic Bonds, the family business.Coordinating corporate retreats, pack counseling, and of course, helping people find their pack through our cutting-edge computer software and eerily accurate tarot readings was a full-time job. Business was booming, which meant asking Pack Kahele, one of our caterers, to consider a more permanent arrangement. The only problem with that was my crush on Pack Kahele was well known in my family and guaranteed to get worse the more time I spent around them.Never the BrideI didn’t have time for a crush, even if the pack made my head spin. Logan, a grumpy alpha chef, Nico, an alpha lawyer workaholic, and Julian, their omega who flirted with me like it was his job were on my strict look don’t touch list.I tried to fit into a pack before, and it ended with me picking up all the broken pieces. I was just a beta, after all, the third wheel of the designations. If I longed to be picked first, for just once in my life, that was too bad. Pack Kahele was heartbreak waiting to happen. If only I could get my heart—and libido—to agree. Because the more time I spent around the pack the more I dreamed of a world where betas had an essential function to a pack and they needed me as much I was coming to need them.* * *Cosmic Sunshine is a contemporary sweet omegaverse. It’s part of series of standalone that can be enjoyed on it's own, but you'll notice favorite characters making appearances throughout the series.*This novel contains MM, the grumpy one is soft for the sunshine one, and many references to junk food. The author is not responsible for the increase to your waistline or libido.

I liked this book and I would give it 3 stars but there were so many typos. I usually don’t take stars away because of typos but there’s SO many. I don’t think an editor read over this or anything. I started one of the previous books in this series and it’s just as bad.

I'm gonna have to give this a 3 star rating because while I did enjoy it for the most part, I did find it lacking in some ways.

The first issue is that this book definitely needs some editing done. Throughout this book there are grammatical errors, like the sentences don't make sense because the wrong words are used or doubled up.

Secondly, I felt like we missed so much connection had between Sunshine and Pack Kahele because they were already friends for several years (sight unseen) before the start of this book. If there was at least a little flashback or prelude to how she met them, more than just a one sentence explanation, I think it would have been better. Also, I wished that Sunshine had more interaction with her Alphas. Like, of course she was with Julian a lot because they were very good friends beforehand so they hung out regularly... but in this entire 400 page book she only hung out privately and separately with her Alphas under a handful of times. I wish there was more built up connection in that regard. Additionally, it was really weird to see the interaction between Sunshine as the beta and her pack because she constantly was saying "they make her feel like an omega" which was a bit off-putting in my opinion because it sounds like she's not only wishing she was but also subtly trying to compare herself to Julian. I also found the heat very weird, like it was super focused on Sunshine and her care and pleasure when it should've been focused on Julian as the omega. Like everything that was remotely omega-esque was very Sunshine focused which gave off weird vibes.

As a side note too, I hated how her name was constantly used. Because her name is also a stereotypical endearment, it made using her name a bit hard without any other endearments. In conversations with the pack they called her Sunshine frequently, and by that point it felt impersonal. It's like if her name was Susan and they constantly just called her Susan instead of any other sweet nickname. Like yeah, Julian called her baby but that was before they started dating so it had a friend vibe to it, then Logan called her darling once or twice, and Luca called her kitten a handful of times... but that was it, they mainly just called her Sunshine, which was unsettling.

Also, this story was very low drama. The most tumultuous thing that happens are petty squabbles, and I think that's crazy for a book as long as this one.

Over all, it was an alright read and I enjoyed it for the most part.

4.5☀️

this was sweet and low drama and great OV. i have not read the book before this but was not confused and i don’t think you need to read it to understand Sunshine’s book.

i do love OV where the fmc is a beta. Julien, Lucas, and Logan made sure that Sunshine was their focus since they were already a pack for a while. this was a friends to lovers, but i didn’t feel like i was missing something since they had been friends for years. they did get together at the 37% mark so you don’t have to wait too long foe them to get together and you’re able to see them taking her on dates individually but also hanging out together as a pack.

i also loved Cosmic Bonds and the businesses Sunshine and her family had. but also her family and their support, esp with what was going on with Thalia. it makes me want to read books about all of them.

MMMF, fmc beta, male omega, 2 male alphas, mutual pining, friends to lovers, heat scene, bonding/bite marks, beta 🪢, DP, locking toys during heat, interconnected standalone, HEA

Mixed bag

The basic story was very good, and I have enjoyed this series. I dinged it one star because the editing was sloppy to nonexistent: missing words, wrong words, misspellings, haphazard punctuation. In a couple of sex scenes, she would have had to be a Cirque level contortionist to make everything happen as described!

I would also like to point out that being in Sunshine's head was exhausting, but worth it in the end. If you are dealing with generalized anxiety, low self esteem, PTSD, and/or ADHD, you might need frequent breaks for comfort and calm (cuddling with your favorite person or furbaby definitely recommended)! She worked hard for her HEA, and when she finally felt the love, acceptance, and support from her pack through the mate bonds, it was such a palpable relief! Also, she had more patience with her ex besties than I would have had, and I commend the author for not letting her murder both of them.

So if you like sweetverse/omegaverse, I recommend this book with reservations.

No drama pack

If you’re looking for a pack with drama…this is NOT it. They are practically perfect! 💗

The drama all comes from outside influences: Sunshine’s exes and a friend who doesn’t know what a healthy friendship.

I LOVE how the author is able to make this beta-centered, even with an amazing relationship between Sunshine and Julian. Some authors have a difficult time keeping the main character the main character. And of course it’s great to see moments from characters of previous books. 😉

So Good!

I’ve been waiting patiently for Sunshine’s book and it did not disappoint!

This was such a sweet and angsty read. It has the miscommunication trope, but not in a third act breakup sort of way. Sunshine had so many insecurities and it was beautiful watching the guys tear them all apart and help rebuild her strength.

This was also a fantastic example and reminder that not all friendships are meant to last, some are just meant for a season or several seasons.

Seriously I just loved this book so freaking much!

Sweet OV

I enjoyed this friend to lovers book. The tension between her and the pack could be felt. And I liked how the male omega was handled. Sometimes in other ov make omegas overshadow the FMC, and they feel a little one dimensional. Julian was a fleshed out character. That said there were a lot of errors throughout the book, missing words, incorrect words. It was almost like at some points the authors fingers didn't keep up with their brain. Overall all though I enjoyed sunshines story.

Can’t wait for more!

I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading more about the family! It seems this is the first in the series and I’m surprised with the FMC’s back story and the family business!

The steam was great and in my opinion story-forwarding, showing how important she was to the Kahele pack. I liked the three different pack members and how they were each truly individuals.

I also enjoyed the neurodivergence aspect for the FMC and navigating that as an adult with a small business!

a super relatable FMC

As someone struggling with ADHD, and someone who has experienced toxic friendships in the past… PHEW this book hit home.

It describes and demonstrates neurodiversity so well, I almost cried at the pure relief of being SEEN. And the gentle way the pack helps her see and manage the tasks that were overwhelming before..

And just how thoroughly loved she is, even as a beta.

I’m emotional in the best way after this read, and it’s exactly what I needed.

More Sullivan Love!

I have been waiting for another Cosmic Bonds installment and it did not disappoint. Sometimes the best situations come out of heartbreak and facing your fears. We get Sunshine’s story with her hunky omega and alpha’s.
They all made me swoon, she couldn’t have asked for a better pack. Now only if she jumped on the bandwagon. Lol! Lots of heat and love in this one. Beautiful story.

love

I really love Sunshine’s story! I’m so glad she found her place with Pack Kahele! Julian, Luca and Logan are so perfect for Sunshine!

I wish Talia and Becca had received more comeuppance. I wanted Rob, Issac and whatever the omega’s name to get their comeuppance.

Overall, it was a really good book and I enjoyed how Sunshine’s life got better once she knew she could trust their feelings.

3,5 stars. Not a fan of MM but I love Beta FMCs. I really wish there were more omegaverses with a Beta FMC and no MM *sighs*

With that being said, this is definitely one of the better books that combines a Beta FMC with a male omega and his pack. Never once did I get the feeling/impression that the FMC wasn't equally cherished or loved compared to the male omega. I also love that the FMC got alone time with each Alpha.

like looking in a mirror

Okay so this book was great, but also I’ve never seen a character with ADHD and problems with anxiety and friends and imposter (raccoon) syndrome like I have. It was so great to relate to her and know that you deserve love and support even if you feel like you don’t.
The pack was awesome and sexy, and the book also made me laugh a lot.
Excellent read.

This was hit multiple notes for me:
- good writing? Check
- good story line? Check
- a Beta finding her forever pack and not “magically” becoming an omega? Check
- insta love but the guys still have to work for it?!? Check check check

Also a nice read containing low level, resolved on page outside the pack conflict.

This left me excited for this author’s backlog of work!

awesome book

Dude, I knew that chick was just plain evil. I can’t believe all the crap that she put her through back to. She was just a nasty person. I wish nothing but bad things for those two and the packs they have or end up with. One of my favorite parts is when Julian gets her in the ice bath.

I need more...

I truly am loving this series and need more of the family.
It's brought a smile to my face and I read all three books in two days. They are the perfect balance of love and emotional angst. I really do hope to read more about the rest of the Cosmic family.

Sunshine. Sunshine. Sunshine. I so did love this Beta and her tender heart. She serves a sweeping love story and Julian, Logan and Luca patiently steal her heart and trust. This was such a wonderful addition to the Cosmic Bonds series and I can’t wait to see what is to come.

Fantastic addition to the series

I adore this series. The first book hooked me and I keep hoping for the next one. This story was beautiful and I love that each story continues to build this world and family. Well done. Next!

Normally I don’t get super hung up on grammatical errors but there were so many in this. There were also a lot of name mix ups with the guys. It honestly took me out of the story a lot. The story itself wasn’t bad, but I did think it was longer than it needed to be.

Sweet story, needs editing.

I’ve enjoyed all three books in this series. They are sweet, easy reads. However, they desperately need editing. If you can get past spelling errors, incorrect words, etc. these are a satisfying read. If you can’t, definitely skip them.

I really loved Sunshines story. And I loved how her old pack got put into their place and her awful close friend. They both should have been ashamed of their cells even his book characters how they acted. I'm happy Sunshine got her happily ever after.
