They call themselves the Underground Omega Syndicate and, according to the message they so helpfully left me, I’m being forced to do their bidding, whether I like it or not. They know things no one else does—private details that have been kept under lock and key— and are threatening to expose my dirty little secrets if I don’t play along.
Except they’ve made one teensy miscalculation. Am I going to correct them? Hell no. By the time they realize their mistake, I’ll have turned the tables, utilizing the resources they’ve so graciously provided for my own personal agenda.
The only thing I didn’t count on? The Alphas who threaten to throw a wrench in all my carefully laid plans. They say our history means more to them than anything else. That I mean more. They want what I promised—for us to become a pack.
But how do I tell them the woman they knew and apparently loved is gone, when they can see her standing right in front of them?
When you don’t like the FMC or the “heroes” then the RH just doesn’t work. Fallon who comes off as all tough and bad a&& is actually just this measly little omega who immediately reverts to her former self when her best friends (Alphas who are now in a famous rock band) show up!!! They completely deserted her!! Left her on her own where she was brutalized and sexually assaulted, and just because they decided a few years back to stop screwing groupies and wait for Fallons eventual return doesn’t make any of it ok!!! Her men became famous AFTER THEY DITCHED HER. Then went on to screw groupie after groupie until they one day decided to wait wait until Fallon showed up! They DID NOT LOOK FOR HER THEY DID NOT SEND A PI AFTER HER, no they continued their rockstar careers oblivious to her terror and torment until she stumbled into them. Then all of a sudden they’re all in and determined to get her back! Well fu*k them!!!!! And frankly Fallon lost all my respect when she took them back she didn’t even make them grovel! YUCK! Talk about a horrible take of women’s empowerment!!
Ever start a book and realize it should have stayed on the shelf? This is it.
So…..these assholes abandoned her for 10 fucking years. Not once did they reach out to her, they sleep with every groupie they come in contact with. Living their best life. Here she is going through pain and suffering! Being abused and assaulted. Here they come and after 30 seconds she jumps on their cocks like she’s forgotten what happened. This is I think one of the worst case of body betrayal I’ve read in a while.
You hate these men for ten years because they left you and went wild with groupers but the second you see them again, you sleep with them? Talk about the worst case of body betrayal syndrome. Ugh.
Fighting Fallon by Sinclair Kelly had so many factors working for it. I would give it ten out of five stars if I could. What I appreciated most by the author was how I felt when I read this humdinger of a story. She achieved this by having a solid plot, and strong characters where we got to know them better with the multiple POV throughout the story. I loved how it had action, drama, mystery, romance, spice, so much spice, and humour to contrast the tension in the story was crafted so well. I'd have to say this is the best omegaverse written by the author to date.
First for me from this author and I loved it. Truly. Loved all the characters and their different personalities and of course our fmc Fallon was great with a snarky mouth and hidden 'killer ' talents!
I’ll be the first to admit I’ve only ever read Omegaverse stories by Sinclair Kelly, but they are always a delight. How she gives Fallon, the omega, power, authority, and agency is a joy, and this was no different. The gripping storyline had me enthralled. Loved it!
Thanks to Sinclair Kelly for the early copy for review.
It has been 10 years since Fallon Parker has seen the guys who are now known as Feral Lyrics. With no mind to actually speak to them, fate has a way of making different plans. When she is drugged and kidnapped and forced to do a job, she finds herself back in their clutches. Only this time, she's not the same innocent girl they left behind.
Anson, Wren and Felix have waited the last 10 years for Fallon. Literally dedicating their entire tour, "It Can Only Be Her tour," to her and hoping she seeks them out; they never realized she would end up right where they wanted. Only she comes with secrets and something else they definitely didn't plan for.
Omegas are disappearing and being trafficked. The only known fact is that it all happens when Feral Lyrics are in town. When everyone is a suspect and Fallon doesn't know who to trust, what will happen when the man they least expect tricks them all!? ***** This book is great! I was hooked with the story line and could not put it down. I love this author's writing already, so when you added that to this type of story, I was all in! It did not disappoint. It was steamy, fast paced and full of storyline. I was glued from page one and wish there was more!
*Overall 5/5 *Heat? 5/5 *Fast Burn *Multiple first person POV *MFMMM Romance (No MM) *Alpha-Beta Sammich ;-) *Triggers at end (check before) *Ends in HEA
"From contract killer to rogue mercenary to mother."
3.5 Stars I struggled with this book and almost gave up a few times. I've been in such a funk lately and probably reading way too many omega-verse reads but I just didn't love this one and I really wanted to. Hell, the heroine introduces us to her wild side-she's a literal contract killer of Alphas and on the outs with her childhood besties/future harem. In the short time prior to their reuniting she's hating on them and so adamant she wants nothing to do with them so clearly I grew a grudge. This annoyed me to NO END when she caves with barely a nudge. Where's the badass killer then? The guys are also part of a band which is just another trope I'm not a fan of personally but it is cute how their entire music career is basically dedicated to her. There's not really much personal drama once they has their shit out. A few jealous women here and there but no real OW drama. I like the concept of the series but this just had elements that don't always work for me but I tried. Easy read however note, it does cover heavy topics like sexual assault, murder obviously and trafficking to name a few.
I enjoyed the action-packed plot, and while I thought the omega FMC Fallon accepted all the men back into her harem a little quickly without enough grovelling and the idea of a secret syndicate was slightly stretching the realm of possibility, I'd consider re-reading this story again.
You tell me they left her, she suffered horribly, they f*cked groupies like rabbits despite loving her, and first time they meet again she not only gets locked in a room despite being assured by the MMCs manager he'd be right outside if she needed him (spoiler: he was not) the alphas go feral, she lets them f*ck her and they can't even be gentle? Literally every character is on my sh*tlist at this point.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
At first, I wasn't into the story or the characters. I mean, I liked Fallon. Most Omegaverse stories have female leads who are more defenseless and can't save themselves. Sure, they are often smart and try to protect themselves in the ways possible. But they mostly try to keep it up until someone comes to save them.
But Fallon is the opposite. Sure, it has a lot to do with her background and what happened to her. But she learned to fight and is now defending other omegas. Furthermore, she is smart, witty, and snarky. A badass woman. So, I'm all for that.
The plot with the Syndicate was okay. I have read several Omegaverse books with underground organizations and stuff like that. So, the idea is not really new. I mostly saw it added as a means to get the FMC back to the guys.
The reason I was not into the story from the beginning was the guys. I mean, from Fallon's POV, it appears like they just left and didn't even try to get back to her. They didn't leave her a message or anything to say otherwise. You would think, after they became famous, it would be easy to find her. They have the means and resources.
But instead, 10 years go by. In the first years after becoming famous, they had groupies and all that. Only a few years later, they decided to wait for Fallon. They dedicated everything to her. The songs, shows, and tours.
And Fallon quickly falls back into a relationship with them. I only came around to that because it was told what happened when they had to leave her. And I took into account that they were young at that time too and didn't know any better. So, they didn't leave her on purpose and tried to get back to her, only to recognize that she was gone and they had no means to contact her.
Though, I don't know why the authorities thought it would be necessary to go to such lengths and separate them. Was it because she was an omega and they were alphas? I'm not sure at that point since it was never explained.
But they at least weren't heartless assholes who did it on purpose. So, I cut them some slack.
The general storyline was interesting and kept me reading. Though, I predicted it right with who the insider is and stuff like that. And I loved Chance. So, in the end, I'm glad I didn't give up. I loved the book, though it wasn't perfect.
And the epilogue was too short. I wanted to see the family life and how it will work with them having children. I don't like that things are mentioned in the end but not shown.
This review may contain some mild spoilers - however I won’t give away the big question and I’ll warn again before any actual spoilers. From my understanding (after having only read 87% of the first book so far) this book is the first book in a series of 3, however the books are standalone within the series.
This book is well written and I would say the pacing is believable enough for the type of book this is. Unlike some reviewers, I don’t have issues with FMC or the MMC’s. There aren’t a lot of grammatical errors that bring you out of the story. I’ve taken longer to read this book simply due to being ill.
I would say this is a pretty decently fast burn book and the spice … I give it 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Honestly, the premise of this book is intriguing enough to me to make me want to read the next in the series.
Now, for the part that might contain some minor spoilers, again - I’m not giving away the plot or anything.
I’m not new to Omegaverse, and one common theme amongst all I’ve read are the incredible connection and awareness of the bondmates once the bond is in place. As I was getting to the main ‘who done it’ if you will, I actually stopped reading to come start writing this review. When the big bad comes for the target, there is no concern through the bond. All the bondmates are awake and conscious, and one of them is literally fighting for their life. The others? They haven’t even the slightest clue that something might be amiss.
Now, I will give the author the benefit of the doubt, since this book is written in multiple POV, MAYBE as the action is happening the other bondmates are connecting the dots, but the character even begins to suspect something nefarious is coming.
Anyways, enough about that - look, no TRUE spoilers after all! My final bit of info to pass along is that while I hadn’t completely come up with a ‘who done it’, I had already considered who it turns out to be a few different times. I guess that’s my long winded way of saying the book is a little predictable.
I’m off to finish the book now, just to sum it all up - 4 out of 5 stars, I would recommend this book if you’re into the Omegaverse/RH/Why choose tropes.
This book was adorable (as much as one can be with a hired killer involved!)
Sinclair Kelly did it again.
This story is pretty much perfection. You have a bada$$ omega who trusts no one but works independently to take out Alphas who think they can get away with whatever twisted things they want. You have three men who are heartbroken and in love but haven't been able to find the one who completes them. Then you have a secret organization that decides they can use all of this to their advantage and puts a plan into motion connecting all of these characters together for one heck of a ride.
There's secrets, past hurts, mystery, action, and spice. There's no other woman drama, no bullying, no major agnst, or any other crazy complications. No lulls, no dragging anything out. There aren't even any spelling errors! It's just perfection! This book is everything you need.
6/5 stars!
------------------------------------ **Adding because my brain overthinks a lot about everything. Minor spoilers ahead:
Apparently, all of the band's music was about her. They did interviews reaching out to her, and yet the first four years, they slept around hoping to fill the hole in their hearts that she was meant to fill. After four years, they decided to go celibate until they found her. I'm curious why they actively wrote those songs about how much they loved her, that she was it for them, and how they believed they still loved her, and yet still slept around during that time unless they figured they'd never see her again. Perhaps they didn't care as much back then or admit to themselves how much they did until after the four years? I really wish it was explained more or that they talked to each other about it - her holding off during that time and their reasoning for what they did in that aspect.
I'm also curious (though this is just me being me!) if they held away from knotting, even though they didn't know she was an omega until they scented her at the concert ten years after they left. It's not necessary to the story, but I'm still nosey! I wish this had somehow been brought up in the book!
Fallon has a particular skill set, and now the Underground Omega Syndicate wants to use these skills. She’s drugged, kidnapped, and blackmailed into investigating a trafficking ring set around the tour of one of the world’s most popular bands. A band comprised of men Fallon once loved. They promised they would come back for her but they didn’t and it’s been 10 years since she last saw them. Her plan is to get in and get out. Find the evidence she needs to free herself and avoid the Alphas. But you know what they say, “The best-laid plans of Omegas often go awry”.
An enjoyable start to this shared series. Fallon is a fierce survivor. Her brand of justice is making the world safer for Omegas. I had a mixed view of the guys. I felt Wren, Anson, and Felix gave up a little too easily when they first went back for Fallon. Then I felt they were a little too indulgent with the ladies for me who were supposedly in love and devastated over one woman. They did spend years dedicating the band to her but they benefitted from that more than she did. I would have liked them to have to work harder to win her back. I also would have liked them to get to know her again. It was pointed out; they only knew the girl she once was but little effort was put into getting to know present-day Fallon. I adored Chance. He knew Fallon, the dark and the light, and appreciated both sides equally. He was also just the right amount of crazy and brought humor to the group. Finally, the UOS was a solid storyline although Fallon could have been given more of a chance ot show off her abilities. I look forward to the next book.
Fallon is a badass omega who’s been through it and built herself back stronger, and honestly, she deserved a standing ovation just for surviving the first few chapters. She gets dragged into working for the Underground Omega Syndicate to expose a trafficking ring and, because the universe has jokes, she ends up face-to-face with her childhood friend and loves of her life, three now-famous rockstars who left her high and dry years ago.
The second-chance setup had so much potential, but... the groveling was WEAK. Like, I don’t care how many sad love songs you wrote, sir, you needed to crawl. I needed full breakdowns, handwritten apologies, emotional carnage, not just a few “we never stopped loving you” speeches. Fallon deserved better.
Chance, the beta handler? Actual MVP. Funny, supportive, zero toxic alpha energy. I would've happily watched Fallon run off with him and leave the rockstars looking stupid in her dust.
It’s fast-paced, a little chaotic, and there’s definitely plenty of spice to keep things moving. But the emotional payoff? Just didn’t quite hit the way I needed it to.
If you’re into: ✨ Strong omegas reclaiming their power ✨ Rockstar second-chance drama (heavy on the drama) ✨ Beta side characters who lowkey deserve their own books ✨ High heat, lower emotional grovel
Then Fighting Fallon is still a fun, quick ride, just go in ready to yell “AND THAT’S IT?!” a few times.
Each time we read a new book or series we take a gamble. Some are quickly re-shelved as they don't strike our fancy or we don't connect with the characters. Other's are never given a fair shot because they aren't what we were looking for at the time.
When I read the synopsis of this one I almost skipped it. I don't enjoy strong female leads, as they often come across as too cold, demanding or superior to the male characters they share the pages with. But, I am making an effort this year to expand my reading and author lists, so I stuck with it and I am so glad I did.
Fallon is a strong female lead, and she had to be to survive being abandoned as a child and the consequences of everything that followed. She took her trauma and turned it into power which she uses to help others get to their safe places. However, when faced with her past loves, she doesn't try and be better than them or stronger than them or anything like that. She allows them to see the softer side she keeps tucked away from the world that would try and use that knowledge against her.
In all honesty, I think this is the truest depiction of a strong woman I have ever read! After all, allowing yourself to be vulnerable is the strongest thing you can ever do!
Great book, great story, great characters. Just a great read overall!!!
I love Sinclair Kelly, and her books are just always so good. However, this one just felt like it was nothing but steam. I read a lot of romance/steamy books, so I feel a little hypocritical here but when a book is like all smut, they tend to just not work for me and that’s kind of what happened here. I really loved the background story and wanted to focus more on the Syndicate, hunting down who is in charge of that ring and helping it, and rescuing people. It felt like such a huge thing that the book kind of treated as an afterthought. Plus, I needed the guys to grovel and fight for Fallon’s forgiveness, but we honestly don’t get any of that. It’s like she spent 10 years avoiding anything to do with them and the band, and then once she shows up at the concert not only do, they find her basically right away but then right after the concert they’re hooked up! I needed her to hold out more, make them grovel, and be slow burn. But like I said the steam in here is maxed out and I just wish we focused more on the story because it was really good just needed more focus on it. It didn’t feel like a Sinclair Kelly book. I want to eventually continue with the series to see if the balance of the smut and story gets better because there is a whole series revolving around the Syndicate and I hope to get more of the missions in future books.
Fighting Fallon was such a great start to the Underground Omega Syndicate series! I look forward to seeing what kind of characters the other authors come up with and see how their stories unfold as well.
I really enjoyed Fallon as a main character, how she had a rougher past in foster care and grew up stronger because of it. It sort of made her a vigilante, which I am all for. I loved that she gained the strength she needed to help other omegas in similar situations as herself and that even if she did catch herself in a tight situation, she was usually calm and level-headed enough to get herself out.
Chance was by far my favorite of the men, simply because he already knew the current side of Fallon, the changed side, and fostered it. He encouraged her bloody/darker side and didn't allow her to feel ashamed of it. From the very start it was all about Fallon and her happiness, and not to say the others didn't care about the same, but there was some obvious past drama with them that needed to be overcome first.
Loved Fallon's story and can't wait to see what other missions the Underground Omega Syndicate puts its people through!
Sinclair Kelly is on the short list of authors I will read every single book from because they are all absolutely amazing! Well, let me tell you, this one is no exception. Fighting Fallon is the first book to release in the shared universe of the Underground Omega Syndicate. This is a story of first loves and heartbreak, survival and fame, with lots of feelings and action. Fallon is recruted by the Syndicate to investigate and uncover an omega trafficking ring and that puts her in the way of her first loves and former foster brothers, now rock stars, Anson, Wren and Felix. I always love Sinclair Kelly's characters, but she overdid herself with Chance, a beta who's an agent of the Syndicate. He and Fallon make quite the team and their verbal sparring is so funny I was laughing out loud reading and got a few weird looks thrown my way. If you love any of the following tropes, this book is for you: omegaverse, rock stars, foster brothers, second chance love, FMC who survived trauma and got stronger from it.
I was already annoyed that 3 of the harem had previous history with the MC cuz I hate that
(I want to watch them fall in love, not hear second-hand about it)
but eventually I started to really like them&really adore seeing them re fall in love with the new versions of themselves
&then the author threw in ~random new guy who joins the harem late~ into the plot&I couldn't help but check out.
Idk it almost felt like the MC was cheating.
She lasted 2 seconds after meeting her trio again, swearing up&down she would drop kick the 3 into the sun whilst constantly thinking no one had ever made her feel an iota what they made her feel
&suddenly she's attracted to a stranger..it just felt unnecessary to add in a 4th when we were barely beginning to mend the cracks in her relationship with her 3
+Chance is a smarmy dick who makes me cringe every time he's in a scene++ he's a BETA..... Like c'mon, eww
There was a lot to like about this story. One thing that really drew me into the story was the story was told from multiple points of view. It was packed with action, suspense, romance and very spicy. I am not a fan of Omega verse books, but this one drew me in. I wanted to see how everything unfolded. Fallon was an amazing character, I really enjoyed her. She was not going to let anyone tear her down and was up for a challenge to help others. However ,she is also willing to share the more vulnerable side with her pack. I fell for Chance, I liked his part in the story and how he was there to support Fallon. The mystery will definitely keep you reading, you want to see how they fight back. I highly recommend you take time to read this book and meet these amazing characters. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I just got bored. I took a break and did not care to go back to it.
The beginning of the story did not work for me. A hired killer consistently goes to the same bar for years and knows the owner, the workers, and regular patrons, and never drinks, but accepts a drink from the random new guy working the bar that you got bad vibes from... Sure, makes sense. Also, makes a big stink of not wanting to see or talk to the guys, but goes to the very front of a crowd where they can easily see (let's be real, that disguise wouldn't do shit against people who actually knew you) and when their manager basically kidnapped you to their bus, you just go along with and don't try to escape...
It was just too clear that the author is just trying to move the story along without actually making the story make sense. Honestly surprised I made it to 55%
Fighting Fallon was brilliant! First off, Fallon is one bada** woman! I’m in awe of her strength, bravery, resilience and hope despite everything she has experienced. Then we have 3 alphas and 1 sexy, witty beta boy (IYKYK). These four will stop and nothing to prove to Fallon just how much they love and desire her. And it turn, Fallon, despite being burned in the past, loves them fiercely. The chemistry, both physically and emotionally, is truly mind blowing. It’s nuclear level and wowza was it fire *fans self*! There was just so much to love in this story! The characters were fantastic, the storyline was original, and there was action, passion, mystery, and so much more! I was hooked immediately and never wanted to book to end. Bravo Sinclair!
Fallon hasn't seen the men who left her behind for 10 years. When she's drugged, kidnapped, and forced to do a job, she finds herself right back in their hands. But she's no longer the same girl they left behind, and once they realize that, she'll have flipped their game around on them.
This was a perfect start to a new series. I was completely invested in Fallon and her story as well as Wren, Anson, and Felix. Her men spent their entire tour dedicating it to her without knowing where she was. I mean, how sweet is that? The ending was also super sweet and I was glad to see the author didn't leave us on some massive cliffhanger.
Ten years is a long time, especially when you’re trying to forget the men who left you behind. For Fallon, life only got worse when they left. She’s no longer the girl they used to know. When she’s put in their path again things heat up fast, but with secrets blanketing their reunion, can Fallon and her men find their HEA?
Fallon is a bonafide baddie. I absolutely loved her character. She’s doesn’t let her omega designation hold her back and fights for those who can’t stand up for themselves.
The guys of Feral Lyrics wrote songs about our girl! *SWOON* The chemistry and instant connection between them all is explosive m. Not to mention the added delight of Fallon’s “beta boy.”
Rockstars, a secret organization, one bada$$ omega, and a mysterious beta makes this story *chef’s kiss*
I loved this one so much! If you’re looking for an OV to devour, look no further. This has so much going for it. Fallon is a really great FMC who wants to make the world a safer place for omegas, by being the big bad omega that she is. There is a pack out there for her, a truly rockstar pack known as the Feral Lyrics, and they’ve been searching for her since they were separated as teens. They’re desperate to be reunited. Throw in a beta who has his sights set on our leading lady as well as a mysterious organization, and it can’t get any better. This one has steam and action and so much tension, making it unputdownable as you race to the end!
I was invested in this book IMMEDIATELY!! As soon as I started reading I really fell in love with Fallon. She’s such an inspirational FMC. You can tell she’s been through hell but she’s a bad A FMC who fights for Omegas everywhere. Because of an organization she finds herself involved with (thanks a lot Beta Boy) she now has a job that links her back to her past and the three alphas who left her. But not everything is how it seems, from the guy all the way down to their tour as rockstars. I loved the connection that Riley has with the guys and can we talk about how their entire career has been dedicated to getting her back?? SWOON. Such an amazing and steamy read!
Holy crap I think I just found my new favorite Omega series. Three rockstar Alpha’s, one sexy AF handler Beta and one bad-ass Omega. If you’re looking for a sweet omega-verse this is not it. Fallon is one kick-ass omega and her story starts the Underground Omega Syndicate with a BANG! This is probably a first for me, but I wish there was more story. Don’t get me wrong Sinclair Kelly did Fallon and her pack justice, but left me wanting more. Can’t wait for the next book to come out.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a different kind of omega-verse series. No cheating, no MM, great mix of plot and spice.
