Looking for a hot, sexy read that's plenty steamy yet sweet, erotic but not over-the-top kinky, with two very likable characters who are made for each other, with just a hint of suspense in the plot--a book so easy to read you can polish it off in one afternoon? Well, Pleasure Bound is all that.

Let's start with the characters: The hero, late 20-something Jonas Harrison, is a 6'2", dark-haired, blue-eyed private investigator, a sexy computer geek in partnership with his best buddy (who he met while serving in the military), Wade Harrison (So Sensitive). Jonas is an only child from cold, wealthy parents, who barely gave him the time of day, and didn't know how to show him love. Jonas joined the Army right out of high school and struck up a friendship with Wade, who comes from a large, loving family. One day Wade brings Jonas home to meet his family during a backyard picnic, where he meets his lovely, recent nursing school grad, voluptuous, dark-haired younger sister Deanna. Sparks fly between Jonas and Deanna, but Jonas has to remind himself it's "hands off"--Deanna is Wade's sister!

Fast forward 5 years. Jonas has never gotten over his attraction to the sassy, smart-mouthed Deanna over the years, and has finally received the "alright already" from Wade that it would be okay to pursue little sis. But Deanna's playing hard-to-get. The lust for the studly, dangerous Jonas is definitely there, but she doesn't want to be just another notch on this playboy's bedpost. Her heart couldn't take it. She's tired of men who only see her as a "body"--she wants to be respected for her mind and her opinions and wants a man who will treat her as an equal. But Deanna doesn't realize that Jonas's feelings for her run waaay deeper than lust for her body. He has no intention of letting her slip through his fingers, and finally convinces her to give him a shot. He invites her to spend a weekend with him at his Miami condo...

Yowza! Do Jonas and Deanna ever connect during that lusty weekend! They've got chemistry in spades, and Jonas manages to teach a willing Deanna a thing or two...but there's a fly in the ointment when Jonas gets a little bossy about one of Deanna's clients (Deanna's given up nursing for interior decorating). Deanna will not put up with a man telling her what to do, even if he insists it's for her own safety. One of Deanna's clients is a rumored drug kingpin, but until Jonas can show her some proof, he'll remain her client.

This drug kingpin client is what supplies the little suspense in this erotic read. I must confess, I was a little surprised by what happened with this guy---I really didn't see what happened coming. I had a different scenario in my head. Make no mistake, this is not an erotic romantic suspense. This is 90% an erotic romance, with plenty of steamy, sometimes smart-a** dialogue between the H/h, which leads up to some plenty hot, sensual lovemaking (against the door, in front of the mirror) between Jonas and Deanna. Yeah, these two were smokin' together, but I never felt it was too much. They weren't horizontal constantly--there was just enough story surrounding them that you didn't think "what, again?" I liked them as a couple. I liked how Deanna blushed and stammered when she got turned on, I liked how they playfully teased each other, and I liked how Jonas was a little insecure around Deanna, worrying that he wasn't good enough for her. Deanna and Jonas didn't play games with each other--they each knew what they wanted out of the relationship but were just unsure if the other felt the same way. There was a scene were Jonas presented Deanna with some gifts...and it just melted my heart. Jonas was the perfect sweet alpha.

So if you're in the mood for an erotic romance that will get you all steamed up and turning the pages as fast you can, give Pleasure Bound a shot. I'm hoping Anne Rainey will give Deanna's over protective, construction company owner twin brother Dean his book next. Something tells me he has a world of hurt to overcome. 4 1/2 stars

Note: Jonas has a nickname for Deanna: "Kitten". The first time he uttered that, it sort of took me out of the story and had me thinking of Bones Halfway to the Grave! It took a while for me not to picture Bones with his Cat...

*Warning: This book contains explicit sex (oral and one anal scene); a dirty talking/thinking hero; some light spanking and some off the pages handcuffing; some Skype sex; and a hero with a penchant for carrying his heroine a lot--which is not a bad thing! Not for the faint of heart.

Perfect 5 star read when you're in the mood for 95% SMUT and 5% suspense!
This was really a wonderfully light and easy read containing all the key elements - Hot Alpha, Hot Sex, Spankings and Caveman-like behavior! Loved it :)

Totally smoking hot story. It felt like 90% sex but Jonas was so sweet trying to woo Deanna that I really didn't care. There was also tiny amount of suspense to add to the story. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Lots of intense and steamy sex scenes, but not much plotline which was fine in this read because the author has an awesome grip on the anatomy of an effective sex scene.

I do believe Ms. Rainey that the series just got better!!

Pleasure Bound is a sexy hot romance that will have you blushing and cheering at the same time. While this story can easily be read alone, reading the prequel short story, “Cherry on Top” in Some Like it Rough, and the first novel, So Sensitive, only enhances the experience.

Deanna Harrison has been attracted to Jonas since the first time they met. Problem is she is a busy woman working on her new career and she has no desire to be another conquest for him. She just can’t seem to get him off her mind. He’s drop dead gorgeous and no other man can compare to him. She is getting weaker and weaker to his advances and just about ready to cave.

Jonas Phoenix is sexually frustrated and the cute blonde he just met just won’t do the trick. There is only one woman for him and she keeps blowing him off. Rejection after rejection, but he is determined to have her, especially after they share their first kiss. Now he is more resolute to have Deanna and he is going to pull out all the stops to make it happen. Not even her two older brothers; Wade, his best friend, or Dean, her twin, are going to stop him.

This love story has been five years in the making. Once they set their eyes on each other, neither could be satisfied with second best. One kiss and now it’s time to see if it’s for real. After a sexually charged weekend in Miami, they both know they are in trouble and now must figure out how to make it work.

This is a believable well written story. There was a nice slow buildup of the romance and the anticipation was incredible. The love making is smoking hot with heart and passion, not to mention the most imaginative that I have read in a very long time.

Jonas is just perfect. He is a complete alpha male, but has a past that has made him a touch insecure. For a man whose childhood was so void of any love, he amazes me at his capacity to open his heart and embrace what the two of them have. He takes my breath away. Deanna is a brilliantly amusing woman. Her wit and sarcasm is a hoot and I love her strength. She has to be a very strong woman being surrounded by three dominating males.

I can see more wonderful stories in the future. I’m hoping I will soon meet Gracie’s sister, who has just been discovered and also Dean, the last of the Harrison’s siblings to find love. He had his heart broken in a prior relationship and is love shy. I’m looking forward to more captivating and sensual reads to come. I will be following this great series all the way to the end.

Sizzling, Hot, Erotic, Electric...Anne Rainey delivers a seductively riveting read...Her characters Jonas and Deanna are fun to follow through the beginning stages, into the heat of the bedroom and even when they argue...The chemistry between these two sets the sheets on fire, along with several other fun places.

The story is fast flowing, full of hot, steamy scenes guaranteed to make you wish you had your own Jonas! If I had to chose one part that didn't sit well with me; the only thing I had trouble understanding was Deanna's reasons for continually turning him down for years. She says it is because of one event, one thing Jonas said to his brother, but then she goes on to say she isn't the kind of girl that goes for a fling...The first is weak, the second is more believable, so I'm not sure why the first part was even added to the story. But trust me, that, by no means, detracts from the story.

Wade and Jonas served in the military together becoming like brothers. Hearing much about Wade's family and having a rather chilly family himself, he cautiously attends a family picnic at Wade's parents' home. There he meets Deanna, Wade's younger sister, and is charmed by her sass and attracted by her curvy, sexy body. Several years later Jonas and Wade have opened a PI business and Jonas has finally decided that he's tired of Deanna refusing to go out with him. He persuades her to agree to a weekend away at the beach house he co-owns with Wade. The purpose? Convince her he is not a player just after her body. The strategy? Well, that will have to be played by ear. The result? Deanna's acquiescence and thawing towards him. Add a PI case that he's working on involving a dangerous drug lord and a screwed-up kid, overprotective meddling brothers, and an unexpected relative showing up and you have a scorching romance that sucks you in on page one and doesn't let you go until the immensely satisfying end.

Sexy and hot, but not very dramatic. The conflict happens at the end and is over in less than 30 pages. Almost like it was an afterthought to include it. Also, points deducted for overusing "growled," because he's a man, not a dog. Overall, not a bad book. Lots of steamy sex, but not much conflict.

The plot and smut in this is honestly so good. The good plot allows the smut to just be next level since you get to know the characters.

This is what erotic romance is supposed to be. PLEASURE BOUND has a great love story, interesting plot, and sizzling love scenes that will melt your um...socks off! ;)

From the moment he met her five years ago, Jonas Phoenix knew that his best friend's little sister, Deanna Harrison, would change his life forever. Now, he's tired of playing around and he's ready to make her his.

Deanna has wanted Jonas from the time she met him, but she doesn't know if she can put up with his playboy ways. Jonas won't take no for an answer though, and he asks her to give them a chance by taking a weekend getaway to Miami. Deanna throws caution to the wind and says yes, but by the end of the weekend realizes that their relationship is much more serious than she ever anticipated.

Whew, this was a hot book. Jonas and Deanna seemed to have great chemistry from the moment they met. It surprised me that it took them five years to get it together, but there you have it. Once they did get together though...oh boy!

I loved how Deanna reduced Jonas to a Neanderthal at every turn. This man took pride in the fact that he was so controlled but when he got around her, he ended up essentially saying "me man, you woman"! It was great!

My only complaint about the story was that part of the plot that was supposed to build the danger and suspense didn't really start until the last half of the book. I thought that I would have been more engaged in that part of the plot if it had been introduced earlier. It felt a bit rushed to me.

Otherwise though, I thought PLEASURE BOUND was sweet, hot, and really kept me interested. The book is connected to another book, So Sensitive, featuring Deanna's older brother and Jonas' best friend. I definitely want to read that one as well.

For me to say that Pleasure Bound by Anne Rainey was HOT...doesn't really tell you exactly how HOT this book was. So let me just say this book is SEXUALLY EXPLICIT.

Jonas Phoenix meets Deanna Harrison at a friend's family picnic and Jonas is instantly attracted to Deanna but it takes several years before he begins his pursuit of her.

Once that pursuit begins, he is relentless. However, Deanna is reluctant to get involved with Jonas even though she is very attracted to him. She is looking for more than fling with someone and she believes Jonas is a playboy.

To get Deanna to see him as more than a playboy, Jonas issues her a challenge. He asks her to go to Miami for the weekend with him and allow him to prove to her there is more to his attraction to her than that.

In Miami the sexual tension between the two erupts full force and they forge a bond of closeness that become closer with each passing day. However, there is danger lurking in the shadows and it could mean disaster for both of them.

Now you know there is some twist here...that I am refusing to give away. So if you need to know...read the book. I don't give spoilers.

Even with all the sexually explicit material in this book, the story line is fully developed as are the characters. This isn't your basic sex book.....there is a very interesting story to follow here.

This is the second book in this series, and while it was good I liked the first one a little bit more. Jonas works with Deanna's brother and has been trying to keep his hands off her for the past 5 years and he finally decides and asks her brothers permission to pursue her. Deanna has loved Jonas from the moment she met him 5 years ago when her brother brought him home to the family picnic. There was soem smoking hot sex scenes between the two of them but I wanted a little more mystery/action. I think there was more mystery/action, getting to know the characters in the first book. Anyway, I did enjoy the book and read it in a day and I do look foward to readign the 3 book in the series when it comes out later this year.

What makes this book stand out is that it has a natural and beautiful progression of a relationship between two main characters, it does not contain the usual unnecessary frustrations and dramas that most romance novels are plagued with.
The author has made this book resemble real life and the reader gets to enjoy the romance and bit of suspense in this book.
Another stand out is the sex, and wow it is spectacular, it will leave you hot and bothered at the same time.
I very much enjoyed this book and will be reading more from Ms. Anne Rainey.

Pleasure Bound is the 2nd book in the Hard to Get series. This is Jonah and Deanna's story, both of whom we met in the 1st book of the series, So Sensitive. Like the hero of So Sensitive, Jonah was a sexy, bossy alpha who loved the dirty talk, and while I thought the talk often sounded cheesy in So Sensitive, I thought it was much more natural and sexy in Pleasure Bound.

This book has a lot of sex with a little bit of light bdsm and an action/mystery side storyline. It's a great read for a lazy afternoon, and I can't wait to read the next one!

Ero indecisa se comprare o meno questo romanzo, poi ho preso sia questo che il terzo, così da completare la trilogia e dare una chance all'autrice per riscattarsi ai miei occhi--e ha funzionato! Fin dall'inizio ho capito che Jonas mi sarebbe piaciuto di più ;) Bello il weekend a Miami! Peccato per la trama: avrei preferito più suspense per via del cliente di lei, più pathos--insomma si poteva dare più spazio alla scena finale =) però sicuramente più carino del primo!

Still currently reading but so far my opinion varies. The story line is kind of basic. Boy meets girl, girl starts liking boy, boy tries to seduce girl pretty much the basics in any romance novel but I do like the fact that the author Anne Rainey uses visuals and describes rooms and places in the novel as if you were there seeing it just like the character. Overall it's a good late night reading for when you want some "me" time.

Pleasure Bound

No overly alpha men here.... Well once the air was cleared between Jonas and Deanna. Just smart, sexy determined tech guy, Jonas turning Deanna's head and keeping her flustered and out of her comfort zone. The bad guy elementnadded a nice mixture to show how Deanna matures in her relationship with Jonas and how he hears her concerns.

Great continuation from Wade and Gracie.

This is really a 3.5 star rating but who's going to quibble over a half star? I fell for the male lead right off the bat; who wouldn't? Ex-military, slightly rough, and friends-in-place-of-family... it basically reads like my male lead personal preferences checklist. And he did not disappoint. Throw in the female lead is the sister to his best friend and the story basically writes itself. But it was fun to immerse myself in this tale. A beautiful distraction.

I really enjoyed this book. I was funny, had romance, and made you believe you should never give up when you know you've have found the right person. I did read this book first not realizing it was the second book in the series Hard to Get. I recommend reading them in order, starting with So Sensitive because Pleasure Bound does giving away parts that would have been surprises in the first book.

let me start by saying curse my need to finish things I start! If you can manage to get past the first half of the book where the guy is anything but romantic and comes off as a stalker like controlling a**hole and the lack of plot (unless porno type plot counts) you get a mediocre suspense story at best that wraps up fairly quickly without much depth.

I am infatuated with Jonas' character. I loved every aspect of the novel. Although, certain qualities of the characters reminded me of Fifty Shades Of Grey so instead of five stars, I give it four. Would absolutely reccomend you read this novel.

There are far better books in this genre to read than this one. I didn't care for the constant dialogue--thought it was a bit immature. There was no story arc or emotional suspense except for one scene. It just kind of plodded along from one sex scene to the next.
