Even though creating breathtaking events and rubbing elbows with the social elite seems fulfilling, there’s one thing missing from her fairy tale life—her prince charming. After a string of failed, faith-challenging relationships this woman of God refuses to give up on meeting the man of her dreams. Tee knows in her heart that God will answer her prayers--SOMEDAY. Tina Long is an event planner extraordinaire and woman in love with God. She has survived countless meaningless relationships with men that didn't understand her celibate lifestyle. Until she meet Michael Stokes...her Prince Charming. However, Michael has some unresolved issues - one being that someone is trying to kill him.
Henderson writes with vivid detail and passion for Christ. The storyline started out a bit slow but ended strong. While there were a few parts of the story that were predictable the ending had an interesting twist. Henderson is a new author with a promising future.
Someday by Jae Henderson chronicles the dating experiences of Tee and Michael, two successful singles who have chosen to abstain from sex for both personal and religious reasons. Tee desires real love and and real romance, but feels as if she can't find a partner who is willing to wait until marriage before bedding her. Michael, a reformed player, is tired of being a poor example for all of those who look up to him and wants to walk the straight and narrow until Ms. Right comes along. A professional event brings the two together, and it would seem as if they are perfect for each other, if and only if they can dodge Michael's crazy ex-girlfriend who is willing to have him at all costs.
Someday was indeed a "delightful" read. Many much needed topics are explored from abstinence, to the influence of music on young people, to healthy vs. unhealthy dating practices. Christian women who are struggling with keeping their "virtue" until marriage should definitely check out this book. I particularly loved Tee's interaction with the young rap artist and hope to see him in the sequel. There are a few developmental issues in the storyline that were slightly distracting, but for the most part, it was a very interesting read and I am looking forward to reading the sequel, Someday Too.
As the author I am quite biased but I wouldn't put out any that I felt was anything less than excellent. I wanted to write a book that spoke to Christians and encouraged them to live a Godly life in an educational and entertaining say. I hope you will take the time to learn more about it, www.jaehendersonauthor.com and www.imagoodwoman.com. Here is the synopsis....
Tina "Tee" Long lives a life that reality TV shows are made of. But there's one thing missing from her fairy tale life---her prince charming. After a string of failed, faith-challenging relationships this woman of God refuses to give up on meeting the man of her dreams. Tee knows in her heart that God will answer her prayers --SOMEDAY. When Tee is introduced to an incredibly handsome, recently retired NFL player named Michael Stokes it seems that someday has finally arrived. There's one problem. He's been marked for death. Can Tee accept a man who has a killer on his trail and a surprising new addition to his family? Someday is full of adventure, excitement, thrills, laughter, and love as Tee and Michael fight to stay alive in order to stay together.
SOMEDAY BY: JAE HENDERSON 3*** ‘Someday My Prince Will Come…’
Tina Desiree Long has pledged her life and body to GOD and declares herself celibate until she weds the man that GOD has molded for her. Michael Stokes is an injured retired NFL player that made his career his God until his body fails him and he had to find the one true GOD. These two Christians meet and there is a magnetic tug but both try to steer clear because of past situations that threaten their ability to seek their true connection. Michael’s past indiscretion threatens any chances these two may have of establishing a budding relationship.
Someday is an easy read centered on a Christian woman’s struggle to live a celibate lifestyle while still hoping for Mr. Right. Good depiction of an ambitious woman and the close bond between family and friends. A tinge of romance riddled with reality. Betrayal vs revenge, preaching with some teaching, mystique and suspense lined with a tidbit of witty scenarios that will make you chuckle. All are key components in the smooth flow of Ms. Henderson’s Someday. 3.58
I appreciate the author trying to write a story from the perspective of a single Christian woman who is having a hard time finding "the one" but my goodness this book was just over the top. The dialogue was so far fetched that I kept asking myself "who actually talks like this?". I can appreciate a good escape from reality but it should still feel somewhat real. And Tee's desperation was off putting. I understand having the desire to be married but all she ever talked about was her failed relationships and how she can't find a man because she's celibate. Plus she's full of herself. She's a good woman because she's Christian, rubs her man's feet, cooks, is "fine", dresses fierce, etc. She also has a bad attitude and is incredibly judgmental. I was going to read the other two books in this series but now I think I may just pass.
OH MY GOODNESS!!!! This book was amazing!!! I ran across it at work and couldn't put it down! I feel like it came in my life at the perfect moment. With Lent season going on and me giving up social media to regain my focus on the Lord..... I've been fighting with myself in saying I trust God's plans but my impatience gets the best of me! This has really opened my eyes to wait on HIS time! I was determined to read the rest and I've already bought the 2nd on Kindle and the 3rd is on request at work! I'll probably be done with the series by this time next week! This has really opened my eyes!
Jae Henderson did such a wonderful job in weaving this beautiful love story together with passion, realism, and biblical principles. Tee and Michael experience many of the same obstacles that singles experience today: trust, celibacy,lust,self-control,outside forces, and timing. The road to happiness is paved with many obstacles but this book shows it is possible when you seek God first. Great job.
This is an entertaining Christian Inspirational Romance novel, the first installment in a trilogy. This first book chronicles the trials of Tina Long practicing celibacy in today's dating world. We are introduced to her friends and family members as they traverse the various aspects of single and married life. The book has a predictable, happy ending, but sets the stage for the much more complex and better-written sequel that follows.
I appreciate the Christian aspects of this book as it relates to dating and just overall living your life. It definitely resonated with me. However, I felt like some of the storyline seemed over the top, almost unbelievable. A couple of times I rolled my eyes thinking "really?!" But other than that, it was a pretty good book and it did keep me entertained for the most part.
This book was excellent. I loved Tee she reminded me so much of myself and Ida Foster I don't usually mention characters but by the end of the book I had to laugh lol really??? I really enjoyed this book and it was really relatable. I can't wait to read what is in store for Tee in the next book!
