Hiyori ist 15 Jahre alt und 1,40 m groß. Ihr Mitschüler Yushin ist ebenfalls 15 Jahre alt, aber er ist gute 50 cm größer als sie.
Hiyori kommt neu in die Schulklasse und erhält den Platz neben Yushin. Sie verliebt sich in ihn und möchte sich mit ihm anfreunden.
Hiyori ist sehr schüchtern, was alles etwas erschwert.

Dieser erste Band der Manga-Reihe hat mir recht gut gefallen. Ich mochte sowohl die Zeichnungen als auch die Story. Die Idee mit dem doch relativ großen Größenunterschied zwischen den beiden Hauptprotagonisten hat mir dabei auch sehr gut gefallen, da ich so etwas bisher noch nicht gelesen hatte.
Nun bin ich neugierig, wie sich die Geschichte weiterentwickeln wird und werde somit auf jeden Fall den nächsten Band lesen.

After an accident which led her to long-term hospitalization, Hiyoko needed to sum up courage to start her late freshman year with her acute anxiety and shyness. She never enjoyed school life because of that, and only had one best friend throughout the previous schooling years. But this year, on the first day back to school, she met Yusshin, a gangly boy of 190 cm with sunny attitude. With Hiyoko's height at 140 cm, the pair looked so mismatched they immediately became class' icon. Not only that, Yusshin persistence on befriending Hiyoko--which started with gave her her later-notorious nickname, Hiyorin--somehow made Hiyoko's high school life started to get better.
What I love the most from this series is not the main characters, somehow, but the side characters. In other shojo manga, you'll find what I called as "high school class" trope, which consisted of loyal besties, bullies, popular girls/boys, unpopular girls/boys, delinquents, etc. I cannot find any of them in this story. Instead of school setting with all of that, Hiyorin and Yusshin's school gave the most positive class setting I've ever encountered in my experience reading school-setting manga. Instead of bully Hiyorin and let Yusshin and her best friend Ricchan as her sole savior, the WHOLE class helped Hiyorin to fit in.
They're all nice and precious babies without a single malicious intent I love them all! It's nice to read a manga where the class residents are getting along so well with each other, even the character who will get labeled as unpopular nerd in other manga was mentioned as "poised and elegant". I really, really love this school and classes! Hiyorin is so lucky to enrolled into such precious, positive school so she can finally learn to get out of her shyness and made friends on her own. *hugs my babies*

An okay story about a short, timid girl who missed a lot of school due to an accident. When she finally returns to school and joins her new class, she meets a tall and charismatic boy who encourages her out of her shell. She quickly falls for him and the story mostly depicts her slowly gaining self confidence and opening herself up to the boy she likes.
Very standard shoujo without much drama or character development. Usually in stories like this the lead is a delinquent, but here he's just a popular, playful, irresponsible guy who sleeps during class and is always smiling. The girl is slightly annoying. I like timid heroines, but she doesn't work for me. And there isn't really enough conflict to make it interesting.

MEH. This is what I get for looking mangas like Kimi Ni Todoke. True, there are similarities between both of them:
- shy Girl, very introvert
- popular Boy, who gets along with everybody
- both of them seats next to each other (and she is by the window)
- beautiful girl is the Rival
- the Girl starts to socialize thanks to the Boy
- there is a stray animal who then lives with one of them
BUT... the shy Girl is NOT cute as Sawako. In fact, I think she is pretty annoying, whinny, and falls in love pretty quickly with the Boy. The Boy is NOT cute as Kazehaya. He is an OK character, I feel I did not get to know him very well. At least in the first volume, he is bland.
No, I will NOT continue reading this manga. I downloaded the OVA thinking it was a mix between Love.Com and KNT (and I guess I am more or less right) but this manga lacks cuteness, sympathy and all the nice things that are Love.Com and KNT.

Meine Erwartungen wurden hier wirklich übertroffen. Endlich mal wieder eine neue Mangaserie, die mich vollkommen überzeugt hat. Ich liiiiiiieeeebe den Zeichenstil. Und ich habe alle Figuren schon gleich ins Herz geschlossen. Überhaupt einfach nur herzig der Manga. Ich liebe einfach Yushin <3 Und es spielt viel in der Schule. Ich liebe Geschichten, die in einer Schule spielen <3333
Also dieser Manga war Liebe auf den ersten Blick. Dabei kann ich eigentlich gar nichts mit reinen Liebesgeschichten anfangen. Aber in einem schön gezeichneten Schulmanga ist das irgendwie was anderes^^ Hach, ich liebe einfach solche Liebesgeschichten, die sich ewig ziehen, weil keiner den ersten Schritt macht, obwohl von Anfang an klar ist, dass die beiden zusammen gehören. Haaaaaach^^
Hoffentlich reizen sie die Sache mit dem Größenunterschied nicht bis zum Äußersten aus und hoffentlich geht mir Hiyori nicht doch noch irgendwann auf den Geist...

Hiyorin with only 140 cm and yuushin 190 cm., they two become couple until the end despite they have such a big height differences and character.
One thing tht i didn't like that hiyorin easy to get cry.. but im glad that in the end she did change because of yuushin.
And kou with ritsuka just adorable.. haha.. well this might not be my favourites manga,, but i like it though.

Aufmachung
Auf Hiyokoi bin ich durch Recherche nach einer neuen Shojo Reihe gestoßen. Da ich gern längere Reihen lese und mir auch die Idee der Story gefallen hat, war das Urteil gefällt.
Richtig begeistert war ich vom Zeichenstil, wobei die Cover mich gar nicht so beeindrucken. Zudem mag ich den Erzählstil, denn es ist wirklich leicht sich in die Charaktere einzufinden.
Protagonisten
Hiyori ist 1,40 m groß und unfassbar schüchtern. Auf Grund eines schweren Unfalls hat sie den Einstieg in die Mittelschule verpasst. Nun Anschluss zu finden ist für sie eine große Herausforderung.
Yushin ist 1,90 m groß, faul und schläft im Unterricht. Dementsprechend sind seine Noten. Aber er ist sehr aufgeschlossen und höflich seinen Mitmenschen gegenüber. Das und sein gutes Aussehen sind die Gründe dafür, dass er oft im Mittelpunkt steht.
Fazit
Ich habe nur wenige Seiten gebraucht, um sowohl die kleine Hiyorin als auch Yushin in mein Herz zu schließen. Am Besten finde ich eigentlich, dass Yushin kein Bad Guy ist, sondern Fröhlichkeit ausstrahlt und freundlich ist.
Und was soll ich sagen? Ist der Größenunterschied nicht irgendwie unfassbar süß?
Was ich aber auch unbedingt positiv hervorheben möchte ist, dass die Nebencharaktere nicht nur eine Randbemerkung, sondern auch bedeutsam sind. Das habe ich auch oft schon anders gesehen. Dadurch bekommt die ganze Story aber gleich viel mehr Leben.

Hiyori volta a escola depois de ter sofrido um acidente mesmo violento que a deixou um tempo internada para recuperar correctamente. Está então numa nova escola onde apenas conhece a sua verdadeira amiga, Ritsuka, que está sempre presente para a apoiar. O problema de Hiyori é que é muito tímida, demasiado até, e a sua vida social é um desastre, literalmente. Mas ela promete que nesta nova fase da sua vida ela vai tentar superar isso e fazer novos amigos.
A história começa com a apresentação de Hiyori a nova turma, embora ela mal fale em frente dos colegas, e felizmente não vai ter que falar muito porque é interrompida por Hirose, que fica a olhar para ela curioso. Isto porque? Na verdade Hiyori é pequenina mesmo pequena *tem menos 10 cm que eu* medindo 1 metro e 40 centímetros, e Hirose tem quase 2 metros, logo a diferença deles é incrivelmente engraçada. E parecendo que não é isso que os aproxima.
Hirose é muito popular por ser o rapaz mais alto da escola e por acaso até é bonito, o que faz com que tenha muitas raparigas atrás dele, mas ele é um rapaz um pouco preguiçoso, as vezes ate come e adormece nas aulas, mas também é muito confiante e dá-se bem com toda a gente. Ao contrário de Hiyori que não tem confiança nenhuma em si mesma e é muito boa aluna.
Hirose vê que ela é assim e incentiva-a a ser mais activa e a dar-se bem com o resto da turma, e principalmente a sorrir mais porque .. ” se sorrires, coisas boas acontecem”
Assim começa a nova vida de Hiyori que lentamente faz novos amigos e se apaixona por Hirose, embora não saiba bem definir o que sente e apesar de ser rápido é também gradual, e não se sabe bem o que Hirose sente sobre isso. Ele não tem namorada mas tem uma amiga especial que por um tempo “atormenta” Hiyori sobre querer Hirose para ela. Mas o coração de Hiyori é bom demais para estas coisas, e ela sabe colocar as coisas com prioridades, ou seja para além do amor que sente, ela sabe que tem de agir em nome da amizade e não pensar só nela, e isso é importante.
A parte engraçada que já marca um momento decisivo das personagens é quando Hirose organiza uma festa de Natal que acaba também por ser uma festa de boas vindas a Hiyori e como ela é pequenina e a “rainha” da festa, vestem-na de Natal e Hirose pega nela para ser ela a colocar a estrela no topo da árvore de Natal.
Depois há obviamente uma troca de presentes surpresa e depois de Hiyori as distribuir por todos, deixando Hirose para o final, e ela também, descobrem que ficaram com a prenda que tinham trazido, então trocam entre si. Parte fofinha é que parece mesmo que cada um trouxe a prenda para o outro.
Claro que eles se vão dar bem, e descobrir o que é realmente o amor entre eles, visto que são inexperientes no assunto.
Um elemento que esta presente no shoujo é de facto a ciumeira, não é algo que goste que tenha mas as vezes é importante *como no itazura* mas há muitos que sobrevivem bem sem ele como o Horimya. Mas aqui é Hirose que fica um pouco incomodado com outra personagem, Kou, que na habitual troca de lugares fica a abeira de Hiyori, e é muito parecido com ela. Ela mesma o acha, quando diz que são do mesmo mundo, porque ele é um pouco afastado da turma, embora se dê bem com eles, e é muito tímido. Embora afaste toda a gente e dizer que Hiyori o irrita e isso, é só para a afastar, *muahahah*
Eu gostei desta terceira personagem romântica, porque é mais fria e cruel com os dois, mas no fundo até é simpática. “Não me toques com as mãos que tocaram nele!” é muito maduro para a idade, eu achei. Mas é constante nele, ele reage sempre assim a ela e a ele.
Por outro lado temos um pouco da vida de Ritsuka, e sobre o que ela sente. Hiyori está a socializar mais, a fazer novos amigos e a dar-se bem na escola, não deveria precisar tanto dela. Mas afinal quem precisa de quem? Por isso é que ela se sente um pouco afastada mesmo que não seja intenção de Hiyori de se afastar. E trata também o seu lado amoroso por um rapaz que se contar estraga tudo.
Mas a ideia da personagem dela é muito boa, e é como se fosse uma ajuda a Hiyori, porque já vem do passado dela.
Agora a arte de Moe é sempre este estilo limpo e bonito que é bastante agradável. O que adoro em Moe é sem duvida o cenário *yah são coisas que adoro e que acho importante* tanto a nível de espaço real como ambientes e climas,eu realmente gosto deles.
Tal como toda a textura que ela dá, é um trabalho super demorado, mas muito cuidado e o final é excelente. Simplesmente perfeito.
Em 2012 o mangá teve uma pequena adaptação anime, que eu ainda não vi, mas irei ver de certeza e dar uma pequena opinião sobre ele. Actualizo aqui ou publico no Sinfonia dos Livros.

Quise empezar a leerlo nuevamente ya que estuve a punto de terminarlo años atrás y tenía mis dudas sobre mis gustos románticos de pequeña. Quedé sorprendida con lo enganchada que terminé con la historia, me dan ganas de seguir leyendo incluso si mis ojos piden un descanso por la hora que es, lo cual es lo mejor que me puede estar pasando.
No me gusta que haya un instant love, le saca toda la magia a lo que sería el proceso de darse cuenta de que está enamorada y forzó que la amiga de la infancia aparezca como obstáculo desde el principio. Me gustaría hacer sabido más de ella antes de que se la mostrase como el enemigo porque siento que ellos dos pueden tener una historia muy interesante que podría desarrollarse pasa así no verla como un problema sino como una persona que podría llegar a tener algo con el interés amoroso si la protagonista no hace nada para evitarlo. Sin embargo, al ser instant love se pierde toda la magia.
Por suerte, los personajes son muy fáciles de querer entonces me gusta la lectura que llevo hasta ahora

ho ufficialmente finito Hiyoki (tutti i volumi) e posso dire che è stato carino.
non bellissimo, non stupefacente perché i continui equivoci a lungo andare scocciano, ma ho apprezzato la love story e la volontà di crescere, la determinazione e la costanza nel farlo (anche se queste arrivavano dopo una serie interminabile di equivoci ma vabbè amen 🙃).
è una lettura che consiglio?
sì, perché è uno shōjo vecchio stampa, i disegni sono semplici e in questa semplicita riescono a trasmettere ogni emozioneemozione💛

Oh my gosh it is so cute she is so short and adorable and she sits next to a very tall guy who tries to make her smile because she is shy it's so adorable. What is very funny is how she survived a truck accident it doesn't show in the book the accident but when you think about it it is funny, no offense.

Hiyokoi c'est un shojo hyper niais mais que je relie avec plaisir et mélancolie :) La timidité maladive de Hiyorin est vraiment bien traité et j'adore l'évolution des relations entre les personnages ! Je conseille si vous aimez les histoires niaises ou pour de jeunes ados qui voudraient découvrir des shojo

Die Art Mangas zu lesen ist ein wenig gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber daran wird man sich bestimmt schnell gewöhnen. Die Zeichnungen sind natürlich ein Traum und die Geschichte war auch wirklich sehr niedlich.

Volumetto molto carino e scorrevole, mi piace molto Hiyorin anche se è davvero troppo timida.
Spero che la serie non sia cosparsa dei soliti cliché da Shoujo, ma che trovi qualcosa di originale! (anche se in questo proprio non direi, ma pazienza XD)

A simple story with the typical stereotypes, with a light atmosphere and likeable characters. Nothing really surprising or special. A simple and lighthearted feel-good story, I enjoyed it very much :)

Ahh this quarantine got me all nostalgic so I’ve been re-reading books and mangas I used to love back in middle school/high school and Hiyokoi is one of those! Even though Hiyorin (the female lead) is kind of a crybaby the story is still pretty enjoyable! A typical shoujo manga.
