Lemuria & Atlantis: Studying the Past to Survive the Future

Rate this book
The mysterious civilizations of Lemuria and Atlantis become reality as Shirley Andrews, the author of Insights From a Lost Civilization combines details from scholars, scientists and the respected psychic Edgar Cayce. Her sober portrayal of disturbing parallels between the spiritual decay of Atlantis and our modern world, and her reasonable explanations for the vivid dreams and past life memories recounted by numerous people about life on the lost lands enhance this fascinating book.

I have not read the first book, Atlantis, but I completely loved this book on an archaeological, spiritual, & questioning level. The views presented here will make you think, & make you nod your head at times, while making you question mainstream beliefs every once in a while as well, & that I believe needs to be done sometimes!

I couldn't put this down. If you have any kind of connection with the idea of Lemuria, read this book.

I don’t know what I was hoping for in this book, but this wasn’t it. Too much is stated as fact when it is conjecture. I love being open minded, but this was too much. It very much has an agenda similar to Christianity. Law of one. We all have one Creator. Materialism is evil. Love conquers all. And all of that. There were many interesting things discussed in between the agenda, as if the author was trying to disguise their motives. Yet the agenda remains. Here lies yet another book that champions throwing away individuality, throwing away how uniqueness is beautiful, and just enter a mind where it’s all the same. I politely say no to books that champion throwing away individuality. If we’re not going to learn how to be uniquely ourselves, then there’s really no point to living. I’ll keep my identity. Thank you very much. What is with all the books about mind assimilation? It’s creepy!

Read this book if you like historical data, scientific research, and a sprinkle of mystical healing.

I say a sprinkle because this book was a very extensive text book on Atlanta and Lemuria history and how people are continuing to look for the physical evidence of their locations. I went into this book thinking it was going to be more focused on the spiritual side of the civilizations but this focuses on their presence, the historical findings, technology attributed to them, etc. It reads just like a text book so diving into this for a hobby/interest was very difficult. I think if you are a scholar looking at these, this book is for you. There are extensive indexes and sources throughout the entire book and you will not leave this without more directions to go.

There is something rather soothing in the way this book lays out its crack-pot ideas and the inherent optimism of the author. You can't even get offended by the lack of critical thinking and the amount of contradictory statements. It simply goes through motions of laying out the vast amount of information that the author and like-minded people believe and you're in for a ride - if you're into that kind of thing. Just shut your brain off and treat is an adventure of Buckarroo Banzai that will take you all the way to atlantis, magical crystals, alien settlers and 9/11 "bombings"(!???). If you read these books for the comedy, this one is recommended.

But, of course, 1 star since it is a load of bull.

My Beloved Atlantis

The day will come when the Truth of Atlantis will be acknowledged and respected for it’s amazing gifts. My heart is happy when I read of the temple’s of healing and the crystal powers that were given freely. The ending was always abuse of power and abuse of humanity. I really enjoyed this book. I felt the pain of The Things and am grateful for reliving hope that we don’t relive our mistakes. I have faith! Thank you!
