This is the worst in the terrible genre of surprise party stories. All surprise party stories leave the main character feeling confused and unloved, but this book takes the cake. Felicity’s friends are so horrible and inconsiderate, they not only ruin the party she planned, but make her feel stupid in the process. They gaslight her even after they let her in on the surprise, and she still calls them ‘the best friends ever’! Ugh.

it's nearly felicity 's birthday and she's planning her party. the invitations have been written and the party games chosen.but it seems none of her friends, except Polly, can come. She cannot have a party with one friend, so she cancelled her party. polly decided to go to ice -cream dreams.at the mall ,polly was off to a star treatmentn while felicity went for a special hairdo.the next day, felicity was feeling down. there was no birthday cards, no presents not even a telephone call to wish happy birthday.when they were at ice - crea dreams, the shop was closed.polly knocked on the door, this time the door open, when felicity looked in,she was suprise.al her friends were there waiting for her. felicity was so glad.and that was a special birthday.

2023 EDIT: Part of my 2023 clear-up, of books I no longer like, or am no longer interested in, or remember well as standing out, or find as special anymore, or I otherwise will not miss.

Final Score: 3.5/5

Original Review:

Much the same as the previous 'Felicity Wishes' book, only this one's a birthday party/domestic pop-up book instead of a magical fairyschool-based one, so I didn't resonate with it as strongly. But it's nice, sweet, playful, and harmlessly predictable for kids.
