Mack Bolan “The Rambo of literature” (as I am so coining him.)
This book was exactly what I expected it to be. The good guys are good and the bad guys are bad. Black and white, no morally grey characters here. I was surprised by the final whodunit and a few other moments.

The biggest surprise for me that made me quite happy was in the final fire fight the main bad guy ends up in a one on one fight to the death with one of the female agents working with Bolan. As they are battling it out in my head waiting for Bolan to come in and save the lady. But he didn’t , instead she took a beating but also gave one back to the bad guy and came out the victor. Her inner dialogue during the fight was realistic and I was pleasantly surprised that in this very macho man 1988 title, the girl got to fight her own fight and win.

It was quick low stress read and something different from my usual book fare. It was interesting I would potentially read another.
