Well, this is my book. It's been a year since it was first published, and I want to leave this comment to say thank you. This is the first book I published after tons of books I wrote and hid under my pillow. I was afraid. I was scare to be the writer I always dreamed, but when I wrote this one, I couldn't hold it anymore. I want to share it with everyone who loves romance, dragons, and epic fairytales. I couldn't keep waiting for the "perfect time." So thank you, thank you, thank you, and see yall soon, because this was the first book, of many to come.

Esta es una historia de superación. Ohmet, el protagonista, es un joven príncipe que siempre se ha sentido inferior y no ha encontrado su lugar en la familia. No ha destacado en nada y constantemente se auto destruye con sus pensamientos hasta que decide emprender en una peligrosa aventura en nombre de su corte. Esta desición lo llevará a otro reino donde enfrentará grandes retos y deberá aprender a defenderse y enfrentar una peligrosa bestia y una maldición centenaria.
Esta historia está narrada en primera persona desde el punto de vista del protagonista masculino y conocerás sus miedos y sueños.
Me gustó la escritura y narración. La autora hizo buen trabajo estableciendo un mundo (worldbuilding) bastante fácil de seguir. Esta historia es la base para las próximas partes.
La historia de Laila como protagonista femenina es una triste y desgarradora. El libro termina en cliffhanger y la segunda parte ya está disponible.

So, first and foremost, I have to start off by saying that i was a little mislead by this book. This is my fault for assuming, but it left a taste in my mouth that's hard to ignore. When I saw a title of "The Prince who fell in love with the dragon" I was assuming it would be...you know a story about a prince who falls in love with a dragon. You know like, a prince falling in love with an actual dragon. like a Donkey/Dragon from Shrek kinda vibe. That's why i picked up this book. This is not what the book's about. and that definitely made me a bit sad as it's why i picked up the book in the first place. Like i said, my fault for assuming, but i wish the plot description of the book was more clear on this as it doesn't tell you that's NOT the case. So right off the bat the book's leaving me disappointed.
Now that that's out of the way, how's the book itself? Well.. first of all, it doesn't resolve anything. It's the first book in a series so it's only really setup. if you're expecting any kind of resolution whatsoever you're not going to get it. Omet (MC) learns that the girl is the dragon and they have to come up with a plan to break the curse without killing her. That's kind of where it ends. and there's no second book as far as i know out yet soooo yeah. can't even go onto book 2 if i wanted to.
The main character is very whiny for nearly the entire book. he's the 4th prince in a small kingdom and constantly whines and complains about his family including his older brother. he hates listening to people and thinks he knows better than everyone. and this never changes. he constantly argues and lives by his own set of rules regardless of the consequences. The only real positive character trait he has is "doing the right thing" and not wanting to kill someone he has the hots for. That's about it.
He gets himself in a lot of bad situations which are pretty much all entirely his fault and refuses to deal with politics even though he's a prince and that's kind of what he has to do.
The other characters are annoying asses, but...you know they're all royalty so that's to be expected.
Short version of the plot is, there are 12 kingdoms and all of them send a representative to fight a dragon that has the princess captive. the one who slays the dragon gets to be the super king of all the land. Omhet goes for his tiny kingdom. everyone makes fun of him and he's an annoying entitled jerk who eventually sneaks off and finds the dragon/captured princess and has chats with her.
That's essentially the story.
There's WAY too many scenes with the politics of the kingdoms and him interacting with the people at the competition training. We only really get to start chatting with the princess in earnest about 4/5 of the way through the book which is sad because she's 100% the best character in the entire book. in fact, she's pretty much the only bearable one. omhet has 3 bodyguards who are incredibly interchangeable to the point that i forget who's who, and they throw so many names at me that i honestly forget nearly 3/4 of the people in this book. There's a legend at the back to describe who's from what kingdom, but i find it very amusing that in the book the twelve kingdoms are labeled as the "Twelve Terrirories". That's some beautiful English right there.
Speaking of which, yes, i did indeed notice a few grammatical errors here and there. Things such as "de" instead of "the". Small ones like this here and there, but not TOO distracting. However, this is a self-published book so some grammatical errors are to be expected to slip through the cracks here and there, even if it was "proofreader by" someone (yes that's the grammar they used).
If there is a sequel, i may read it if it ever does come out. I wouldn't be incredibly excited to read it, like OH MY GOD I WANT BOOK 2! but...eh. it was fine. The writing style was very easy to understand and the girl/dragon was a pretty neat character even if the book itself literally should have just been a talking dragon he fell in love with (yes i'm still salty this book didn't fall into the preconception of what i thought it would be about)
so..i mean for what it was, it's a generic fantasy book. Not great, not terrible...it was...serviceable. it was fine.

Andebeck, la capital, no ha podido tener rey por más de 100 años debido a una terrible maldición materializada por un violento dragón que debe ser eliminado para que regrese la corona a manos de alguien, por eso, todas las cortes mandan a sus mejores guerreros para entrenar en esta ciudad y prepararse para matar al temible dragón.
Quien lo logre, se ganará la corona y la gobernanza de todo.
Así es como Omhet, para probar su valía ante su familia, se ofrece como voluntario sin saber que este viaje lo transformará por completo.
Bajo este contexto, Jerry, su autora, crea un territorio que invita a la imaginación y genera intriga por conocer las reglas que rigen a estas tierras.
Poco a poco va preparando el camino para conocer qué creo esta terrible maldición y las intrigas que se esconden detrás de ella.
El principio es un poco lento pero comienza a agarrar un muy buen ritmo que se mantiene hasta el final. Su protagonista es un tanto engreído pero tiene la capacidad de hacernos sonreír, después hacernos enojar, más tarde querer golpearlo y terminan emocionándonos con lo que vive, por lo que el viaje será emocionante.
Al ser una novela independiente, sí llega a sufrir de algunos errores ortográficos y de estilo, aspecto que afectó mi calificación; sin embargo, creo que tiene un buen fondo que la hace una novela perfecta para un público adolescente. Aunque, yo sin serlo, me sentí interesado y hasta atraído por seguir leyendo lo que sucede en esta saga, por lo que me seguiré con la segunda parte de inmediato.
Así que al final creo que tendrás una lectura entretenida y refrescante dentro del género que vale la pena conocer.

The beginning is a bit slow but it starts to pick up a very good pace that is maintained until the end. His protagonist is somewhat conceited but has the ability to make us smile, then make us angry, later make us want to hit him and end up getting excited about what he experiences, so the journey will be exciting.
Being an independent novel, it does suffer from some spelling and style errors, an aspect that affected my rating; however, I think it has a good content that makes it a perfect novel for a teenage audience. Although, I am not a teenager, I felt interested and even attracted to continue reading what happens in this saga, so I will continue with the second part immediately.
In the end I think you will have an entertaining and refreshing read within the genre that is worth reading.

In Jerry R.M.'s The Prince Who Fell in Love With the Dragon, readers follow Prince Omhet. Omhet is the youngest of four brothers in the remote kingdom of Glacier, and sees himself as the disappointing one.
One hundred years ago in the kingdom of Andebeck, a dragon massacred the royal family and stole the princess. Now, Andebeck has called on the other royals to join them in fighting the dragon and discovering what happened to the lost princess. Plus, whoever kills the dragon will become the new King of Andebeck.
Omhet volunteers to go, as a way to prove himself to his family and to himself. When he arrives in Andebeck for training, he learns that nothing is as it seems. Not the other royals, his guardians, or the dragon itself.
Overall, The Prince Who Fell in Love With the Dragon is a ton of fun. Even though readers can easily guess the twist, it is an enjoyable ride to get there. Jerry R.M. does not overwhelm readers with information, but slowly teases it out in a satisfying way. Because the novel is told from Omhet's point of view, readers only know what Omhet knows.
Since we spend time in Omhet's head, this helps make him a more relatable character. He has a desire to do what is right and to make his kingdom proud. Knowing his motivations, even when Omhet is being impulsive, readers can understand why he is making his choices. As the story goes on, readers get to watch as Omhet grows and learns. This all makes the story more compelling.
Readers are transported to a magical land made up of Twelve Territories (five kingdoms and seven courts). The world-building is interesting and the kingdoms that we spend time in are fairly well-developed. Since this is the first novel in a series, hopefully more places in the world will fleshed out as the series continues.
A map would also be a very useful addition, because the world feels so big. It would be nice to see it, and get a better idea of how the different regions interact.
A thread running through the book is the political intrigue. The different kingdoms are trying to find allies while training. There are secrets, loyalties, bullies, and betrayal. This adds stakes in addition to the looming threat of the dragon. It also causes the reader to wonder who, if anyone, can be trusted.
There are some trigger warnings in this novel for assault, self-destruction, gore, bullying, death by dragonfire, and some foul language. However, nothing feels unnecessary to the overall plot. In addition, the author handled it all tastefully.
While The Prince Who Fell in Love With the Dragon does touch on these dark topics, there are other aspects present. The story also has a focus on overcoming trauma and doing the right thing. Jerry R.M. balances out the darkness with humor, romance, mystery, and interesting characters. This prevents the tragic aspects from becoming overwhelming.
This is a series that is worth reading. It is a solid start to a story that is clearly building for at least one more book. If you enjoy fantasy adventures with transformations, a gentle love story, magic, some fantasy politics, or all of the above, this is a novel to check out.

Tenía que venir aquí a desahogarme. Pocas veces doy mi opinión en Goodreads sobre mis lecturas, pero esta vez necesito desesperadamente hablar de este libro.
Desde la primera página, me vi atrapada en un mundo tan detallado que casi podía sentir que veía una película. La autora ha tejido una historia llena de elementos esenciales que hacen que un libro de fantasía sea inolvidable: personajes memorables, escenarios fascinantes, una trama envolvente, y una magia que parece cobrar vida propia.
Cada personaje está desarrollado con tanto cuidado, que parecía que los conocía personalmente. Sus motivaciones, sus luchas y sus triunfos resonaron en mí. El corazón de este protagonista es tan hermoso, que sufrí y celebré cada paso que daba.
La trama, ¡omg, la trama! Estaba llena de decisiones por parte de los personajes que yo no veía venir, misterios profundos y momentos de tensión palpables. Ese último acto lo leí sin poder levantarme de mi silla ni soltar el libro. La manera en la que la autora manejó el clímax y como terminó el libro fue magistral. El cliffhanger me está matando.
Tengo el corazón apretado con ese final. No puedo esperar a leer el próximo libro. Ni siquiera puedo expresar cuán buena es esta historia, porque no existen palabras para describir lo brutal que estuvo. Desearía con todas mis fuerzas no elevar el libro, pero ¿cómo no hacerlo? Lo amé mil veces.

Tengo el corazón apretado con ese final. No puedo esperar a leer el próximo libro. Ni siquiera puedo expresar cuán buena es esta historia, porque no existen palabras para describir lo brutal que estuvo. Desearía con todas mis fuerzas no elevar el libro, pero ¿cómo no hacerlo? Lo amé mil veces.
Esta es una lectura, dentro de la fantasía juvenil que no se puede dejar pasar.

I so so badly wanted to love this book because I heard about it while it was being written and was intrigued by the premise. But the writing, oh my god. The main character complains for the first quarter of the book. For the second quarter, I was rooting for him because we started seeing some character development and plot building (which was nearly absent from the first quarter of the book). By the third quarter though, when we’re still building plot (!!!), I just couldn’t do it. Plus it bothered me how it only took the MC seeing a pretty girl for him to suddenly become brave and kind, etc. Literally nothing else. I just couldn’t do it anymore. The hopes I had for this book were all dashed, and I just can’t continue. Tragic.

-entretenido de leer
-el giro que da el libro está bueno
-buen manejo de la información, la va soltando de a poco y no apabulla al lector con demasiada info sobre el mundo que es lo que suele molestarme en muchos libros de fantasía.
-me gusta la narración en primera persona porque empaticé mucho con lo quejoso que es Omhet.
Cosas que no me gustaron:
El título!! es súper confuso. Pensé que se trataba de un romance gay y no lo es.
Pensamiento general: recomiendo el libro. es fácil de leer, entretiene, el mundo es lindo y los personajes tambien.

El príncipe que se enamoró del dragón cuenta la vida de Omhet Espinho uno de los hijo del rey Guillermo, del reino Glacier, ubicado en la montaña más alta y fría de la cordillera.
Omhet siempre se ha sentido al menos frente a sus hermanos y se ofrece a representar a su reino en una competición.
La historia habla de antiguas leyendas sobre hechiceras malvadas que maldicen princesas. De dragones, competencias y rescates. Es entretenida y a través de ella se puede apreciar el cambio de Omhet. De ser un muchacho irreverente y despreocupado a un hombre dispuesto a librar la verdadera batalla.

me hubiera encantado leer este libro cuando era mas chica, me hubiera encantado.
la historia es dulce, sin demasiadas complicaciones y fácil de leer.
Me gusta que no tiene relleno y dura lo que tiene que durar. Por eso me gustó. He abandonado cientos de libros de fantasía por extenderse demasiado y este fue el largo perfecto y el ritmo perfecto.
Por cierto a veces quería pegarle una buena tunda al príncipe pero terminé encariñandome con el (inevitable)

Compré este libro el año pasado en un viaje a EE.UU. y lo tuve por meses en la estanteria sin animarme a leerlo porque pensé que era rollo infantil.
Pues me equivoqué.
Me gustó mucho, es un libro tierno pero a la vez hay aventura y un giro que no esperaba.
La princesa no me agradó como personaje pero me enamoré de Omhet asique me pasé las páginas suspirando.
Y el dragón... lo puedo adoptar? fue lo mejor del libro

La clásico historia de un príncipe que se enfrenta a un dragón con un giro: el príncipe es un bobalicón inútil, lleno de inseguridades y el dragón…peculiar.
La trama es predecible, lo que no significa que no sea un gusto leer a Omhet en su estancia en Andebeck. Omhet pasa de ser un babalicón a un personaje querido (si bien algo quejumbroso). La autora nos regala un viaje maravilloso por sus pensamientos, miedos, motivaciones y contradicciones que lo convierten en un alguien real, un amigo que extrañas tan pronto se cierra el libro.
El estilo e historia me recuerdan novelas que leí de niña de la editorial “Barco de vapor”. Dirigida a un público juvenil (aunque entretenida para adultos por igual) es una historia linda, incluso cozy, sin por ello dejar de tener momentos tristes y emocionantes.
Los primeros dos capítulos tropiezan un poquitín -nada grave. A partir del capítulo 8 coge un ritmo genial y es difícil soltarlo.
Este libro combina las dos: un estilo único y hermoso de escritura, con una historia que quieres seguir leyendo y personajes entrañables.
Definitivamente seguiré al pendiente de las próximas novelas de estas autora.

I wasn’t expecting such detailed book but wow truly took me off guard in a good way. All am going to say is don’t let the title of this amazing book fool you lol. Everything went so great together from the plots to the characters. No spoilers from me. But I wish I can pick my favorite character but honestly am debating between all of them.
