Rebecca Sharp always loved a good love story. Let's face it, when you include a romance novel on your 8th grade summer reading list just to see if the teacher would notice (she didn't!), she was bound to give writing one of her own a go. There's really no corner of romance that she doesn't (or wouldn't) enjoy writing, except maybe aliens, much to her husband's dismay, so her large catalog features a little something for everyone. However, her love of shows like NCIS and Criminal Minds makes her favorite stories to write the ones with some kind of suspense and crime solving.

When she's not writing, she's at her office treating patients, and somewhere between those two things, you'll find her wandering the globe with her husband always searching for their next adventure.

I was already not really looking forward to reading this book because I’m not a huge fan of the “playboy bachelor turned committed family man” trope. Then I realized it was ALSO a surprise pregnancy. Death to whoever invented that stupid trope.

I have also realized that every single one of these books in this series are exactly the same. I’m really holding out that Ranger will be better.

READ THIS SERIES

This book hit all the feels. Where the first two Reynolds’ brothers were very typical alpha males and fantastic reads by their own right. I loved that this book Gunner while being totally “alpha” also showed that even the most “alpha” man can have insecurities and self doubt. This book was raw, steamy and had a great story line.

Compared to the first two of this series… this one was so boring. I felt like nothing really happened and then everything happened in the last 50 pages. I tried really hard not to get annoyed with basically everyone in the book but it was almost impossible.

I really really liked this book. Everything about it, the suspense, the small town, the characters, it was all so good.

However, I'm only giving this a 4.0/5 rather than the 4.25/5 I gave the first 2 books. Mainly because I started this book in the beginning of my reading slump and I really didn't want to read anything despite loving this series.
But also I'm rating this book lower than the others because the ending of this felt a bit rushed in my opinion. Like everything in the last 25pgs happened so fast and I feel like another 25pgs could have been added to the ending to better grasp how the characters were feeling when disaster struck. But I mean it was still really good.

And now I'm just excited to read about Ranger and Sydney, which is the real reason I started this series in the first place. I mean he's literally like the same person as Spencer Reid, and I love him so I'm so excited to read about how cute he will be in a relationship.

noooo

Can the author please remove the word creamy from her vocabulary? The erotic scenes were seriously made so gross because everything was creamy and her sweet cream. Ewww does she have a yeast infection? 🤢

Feels like the last chapter had everything smashed into it. Small town and thriller was fun! Playboy Gunner and heiress Della is such a dang hot relationship!

So many inconsistencies in this book. Where has the Keira’s baby disappeared? It was mentioned at the beginning that she’d had her baby but than later she was walking around with no baby at all or not even pregnant. Or am I reading it wrong? Argh. Just no. And Gunner the manwhore just completely changes his ways in matter of weeks? Nice fairytale 🤢

Honestly I think the reason why every book so far has been 2/5 for me is because of the way the author writes. But I’m almost there(rangers book)

Chef’s kiss 💋. This was a storyline that I was not expecting, but I was so in love with it! It took me a lot longer to get into the book and start desiring to read it, but I still really enjoyed the plot and timeline of Gunner and Della’s relationship. Out of all the protective series, this one had the most character development, which made for a really enjoyable read and helped me connect with the characters on a deeper level.

4.25⭐️

I really enjoyed this one! I think the plot was richer than the previous books and I really liked the characters. I believe the MMC in this one is based off Agent Morgan from Criminal Minds so I'm not surprised I loved this one.

I thought I wouldn’t like this one as much but this is close second for my favourite of this series. I loved that it was less a stalker situation in this book and the pregnancy definitely held that extra tie between the characters that made me pray they would have a happily ever after (they all did but you never know). I liked getting his insight with his brothers and his position in his family, again being slightly different than the other brothers.

Derek Morgan would never get someone pregnant let me start there. I think I didnt like this book bc I don’t like the pregnancy troupe. Accidental pregnancy actually makes me violently nauseous and lightheaded to be specific. Additionally I’m banning certain adjectives from books that I’m reading (reach out to me directly for this list I’m not putting them on the internet). ALSO why was it randomly dropped that their mom was almost murdered by a serial killer but it was never brought up again in any of the other books? And why are all these girls getting kidnapped? Idk man this series was good but had too many weird plot holes.

"Be Bold" . What Della's new tattoo says what she wants to be and when she meets Gunner in a bar in her hometown that's what she is. Only she doesn't give him her name and she calls him whiskey, not wanting to know his name. No Names just a night of fun. Four months later and she's heading back home, pregnant, and surprise surprise, her new contractor, for the hotel her father bought her to renovate, is her baby daddy.
Gunner's just been put on protection duty for a hotel heiress, and no one is more surprised than him when she steps off the plane and he comes face to face with the girl he hasn't been able to forget about. And she's pregnant with his child. Over the next several weeks Gunner searches for whoever is trying to sabotage Della's hotel all the while trying to keep her safe and trying not to fall in love with the mother of his baby.
I loved Gunner and Dellas story from the first meet till the sweet HEA.

This story was crazy hot, tense, and suspenseful. Loved Gunner Reynolds. He was a caring sweetheart who didn't really know his own worth, while Della Bolden was striving for independence, away from the suffocating protectiveness of her father.

"He wanted to consume me. His mouth. His hands. He wanted to mark every inch of me, and I was powerless to stop him."

I loved the connection between these two characters and the way their sexual tension built the more time they spent together. Even though Gunner was back in Della's life under false pretences, the way his feelings changed about their situation was real, and I loved that he was willing to do whatever it took to keep her safe. For a guy who enjoyed doing the one-and-done thing, I enjoyed how possessive and protective he felt about Della and their baby. I thought Della was majorly hung up on the way that her father tried to keep her safe, but I admired her strength, resilience and determination to forge her own path.

"Love was like a harness strapped around my heart tethering it to hers."

This was a fantastic, well-written addition to this series that had plenty of feels. I'm really excited for Ranger's story next.

I LOVED Gunner and Della’s story! Gunner was hiding some big insecurities and feelings of failure behind his smile and Della was desperately seeking independence and what they got for a night with no worries was something that ties them together forever.

I loved seeing Gunner handle the new change in his life and realizing he was never less than his brother’s, that what Della and their baby needed the most was him, just as he was. I loved seeing Della taking on all the challenges herself and working hard against all odds.

Their relationship was so sweet and I love how it progressed naturally (after the first chapter) and I loved the mix of their chemistry and them working together.

Was this book absolutely perfect? No. Did I love it regardless? YES!!!

Please note this book does have unexpected pregnancy.

Pros:

I liked getting to see more of why Gunner is the way he is and to see him stepping up to be more. He’s a fun character and showing how it feels to be in the shadow of older siblings was done in a lovely way with him.

Cons:

The “mystery” of this book fell a little flat. It didn’t build in a way that a reader could have figured it out entirely which is good in some ways, but it also meant there was a bit of an information dump near the end to make it work and loop it n the characters and reader.

So good

I love this series!!! I love the excitement and the storylines. I absolutely adore the characters. This book is great because it keeps you right on the edge. I couldn’t wait to see what happened and how things unfolded. Seriously counting down the days till Ranger comes out. Highly recommend the read! No way this won’t be the best mistake!!

Accidental pregnancy is probably my least favorite trope ever 🙃

Also REALLY hate the terms “cream” and “creamy” in a romance book. I’ll let you use your imagination on HOW they’re used 🥴

Otherwise gunner was just okay. He’s not my favorite brother by any means out of this series. So far Hunter is my favorite but I’m looking forward to Ranger!

I'm reading this series in one go, and I think that's why this book didn't seem as good as the others; it's getting a bit repetitive. And also, I don't really love the pregnancy trope. It wasn't terrible, but neither as good as the previous books.

I'm so excited for Ranger's book!

4.5 stars. I really liked this book and all the characters (except for Carolyn). The only thing I didn't like was the accidental pregnancy but, Rebecca executed the rest of the story and pregnancy very well. I love the Reynold brothers and can't wait to finish this series off with Ranger!!!!

3.5 stars rounded up because I adore how the guy is extremely turned on by the pregnant heroine. The scenes are spicy and romantic and emphasized her being pregnant rather than down play it.

Kudos to you, Dr. Rebecca Sharp.

Okay so… I felt for him and the whole feeling the need to fit in and whatnot, but there was some commentary that just gave me such an ick feeling that truly made me consider DNFing it. Also couldn’t stand half of the characters for various reasons, but oh well. Anyways… Onto Rangers book.

Oh, one more book which is not for me. So i decided not to finish it.
But i’ll read final book in the series, cause it’s about youngest brother from their agency, and he will woo (or he will be wooed by) the author of erotic historical novels. This lady was mentioned in the second book (Hunter). So i’m waiting and hoping for the best.
