After witnessing Oriana’s death and losing consciousness himself, Vincent wakes up to find himself back in his four-year-old body. He does everything he possibly can to prepare for putting an end to this vicious death loop before reentering the magic academy, but this time, it’s Oriana who doesn’t remember him! He’s going to have to start back at square one as friends and hope he can make her fall for him this time. But does this shy boy have what it takes to put the moves on the girl who won his heart and bring a happy end to this third loop?!
After eagerly waiting for volume 2 to arrive, I found myself slightly disappointed.
While I still enjoyed reading this book, seeing another 'reset', this time it is Vincent who remembers and not Oriana. But to add to this, Oriana appears to be not interested in him, with Vincent doing what he can, not only to keep her safe but to be part of her life/circle again, but this proves to be difficult due to her disinterest in him.
Just like the previous book, we are left hanging, and while I found this second book not as good as the first, I am still interested in reading the next volume... whenever that comes.
This is way longer that it needs to be, and written like its describing a manga, panel by panel. All the emotions/reactions described are way OTT (eg. people screaming and falling on their knees for slightest of reasons), and very often make no sense considering the context, which is my personal pet peeve. But I still want to read the last installation and finish the story. It's going to be a long wait 😅
this second volume really made me appreciate the first one. i really enjoyed this volume because it feels like everything we’ve learned about these characters has been turned on its head and it’s so interesting seeing them in a new light! the first volume already explored oriana experiencing new sides to her friends but this one just really nails it! although we already had oriana appreciating her previous lives’ vincent, seeing vincent have a newfound appreciation for everything oriana struggled through alone is so heartwarming and breaking. i think i do prefer a lot of the dynamics in the first volume, i still thoroughly loved this volume and am heartbroken to see absolutely no news for the last installment in this trilogy. hoping it gets translated and published in english soon or i might just have to pick up my japanese studies! such an interesting concept that has been grasped to its full potential thus far and i can only hope the ending lives up to my expectations!
read the japanese edition of this but it's not listed on goodreads. thought the title was bad in japanese, its even more cringy in english yikes 💀
didnt quite reach the heights of book 1 for me although the early chapters were pretty interesting. the later ones start being more romcom filler-y but Oriana and Vincent are still the cutest so I didn't mind too much.
really wish Yana had stayed mysterious tho, I didn't like her reveal here at all. it made her seem petty and I don't think i can enjoy her character after that rip
Ahh the pacing seems both too quick and too slow at the same time! The overall story itself regarding the mystery of their possible murder and time regression is going by so slowly, and nothing seemed to move forward as it mainly focused on Vincent and Oriana's relationship as he tries to get closer to her in this lifetime. While I loved meeting her group of friends and seeing how Vincent handles being the pursuer, I feel that the 1st book had more going on compared to the 2nd. And now that I think about it, it feels like half the book was all filler hahah... So this book, while full of cute moments, seem a bit boring and unexciting compared to the first. Still excited for the next one, although I do hope story progresses more.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Probably my disappointment stemmed from my expectation that we'd see more sleuthing - this time by Vincent - to know exactly why our protags died (for the second time!) in the first volume. Instead I got lengthy bantering by horny, cringey teen characters, many of them I have no idea why I should care about. At least kudos for writing them sound... realistic. (I find it harder to sympathise with the version of Oriana here though.) I hope this is just a boring middle part to an intriguing beginning and a satisfying ending.
less interesting than the first one (I wanted to see more angst from Vincent) and a terrible ending that wasn’t anything (not even a cliffhanger, literally just felt like a random chapters end)
It could have been better. Too slow for my pace and their misunderstanding killed me T^T I love both main characters so I contined but it took me a long time to pick the rest up.
I kinda want to give the rating 2 star for this volume but i decided to just make it 2.5 I've been waiting for this volume after reading the volume 1. The story is interesting, the character is nice i think, overall i really enjoyed the vol 1. But volume 2 is just boring, with our Heroine lost her memories now we don't have the fun and outgoing personality of her anymore. The MC Vincent is too pasive, i can understand that as a Duke's son he can't do anything freely but for entire volume he almost didn't make a progress at all, make us realize that how amazing is the Heroine in volume 1, aggresively chasing him without any hestiation. Then this volume ended without anything interesting, there's no excitement like the end of V1 to speculate what's gonna happen in V2. V2 ended with just a normal day without anything interesting to expect in the next volume And another unsatisfactory is how different the illustration from the V1. I'm sorry for the artist because this is kinda rude but i really don't like V2 illustration. They became smaller and too cute, totally different feel from V1.
