Mutiny on the Zumwalt

My unpublished, sacrilegious story would have been better told as the USS Cunningham. These five stories capture the reader. If you have trouble putting down a good story, take a week off because this collection paints Navy operations, ships and personalities in spectacular detail, including the new Navy version of reproductive physiology and relationships.

Sadly, a completion on the Amanda Garrett series

I'd read 'Sea Fighter' long ago, but until recently, I didn't realize that there were more books to follow.

Again, I am glad that this omnibus of all five was aviaible on Kindle Unlimited, as I have gorged on them over the last four days.

Fair Winds and Following Seas to the late James H. Cobb.

Good storytelling

Plots are a bit unrealistic, but good writing, in-depth navy details and fascinating places to visit with Google Earth or maps at the ready while reading. A geography lesson along with exciting adventures. Most all locations are real and most equipment is real, or has been planned at one time. Go Navy!

Good Read. I’m glad I found it.

Pros: compelling original stories. Believable characters. Tons of action. Clever plots.

Cons: a bit wordy at times. But hey, that’s why you can flip pages!

Seaborne fury.

Incredible pace, almost unbelievable technology, characters to relate with, and intense sea battles, allied to effective diplomacy. What a combination, what a thrill ride, a great collection of stories.

Just excellent

This was, without a doubt, one of the absolute best military fiction series I have ever read and being a veteran I have read a lot of them.

I've read the sample to see how this fares. Not sure how much of the first book the sample gave me, but I more or less liked it. The plot is great. But. I was already wondering if I should buy the book, because the story telling was really too wordy (and that from someone who likes Tom Clancy ;-). Then I read the reviews of the following books and it became clear to me, that I wouldn't like them. If I ever find Choosers of the Slain for little money, I think I am going to buy it (99 cents).
