My love for romance books began during my recovery from chemotherapy in 2020. I love everything from romcom to dark romance and everything in-between. I had never thought about writing a book, but for Christmas 2021 my husband bought me a keyboard for my iPad, and I wanted to write something to try it out. Once I'd finished the obligatory 'thank you' letters, I started writing a story.

There was no plan, no light bulb moment, I just started writing and two weeks later I had the first draft of my very own spicy romance novel. Since then, I haven't been able to stop! Characters have taken up residence in my head and I think about them daily, conjuring up scenarios for them to act out.

As with any independent author, getting my first book to the point of publication has been a very long but educational journey. Thanks to the fantastic support from friends, family and people I have met in the industry, I have stuck with it and I hope to go on to write many more.

B&B owner, Lucy, has a handsome writer booked to stay with her at a little seaside village. He ends up being Will Reynolds, American singer and guitarist for ‘king Band, currently on tour in the UK. They start a relationship that seems doomed from the start but continue to try to make it work.

I wasn’t sure about this book at first because they stated their relationship by chapter 5 and I usually like a bit more of a slow burn than that (apparently). However, the relationship is a bit of a rocky one that ends up a little on and off so there is still tension, just less build-up. If miscommunication (or lack of communication) tropes aren’t for you, you may end up feeling a little frustrated with this one. LIKE STOP TURNING YOUR DAMN PHONE OFF, LUCY! For a 38 year old FMC, you wonder a bit about the maturity, but I think that comes from the fact that she basically married and had children with her high school sweetheart fairly early, and though she has been single for 8 years, she also has very little experience with modern dating - especially when you’re dating a rockstar.

I enjoyed this book while reading it and tore through it in about a day. The plot keeps moving, but it does end on a bit of a cliffhanger! Luckily book two is out in July!

⭐⭐⭐.5 - lack of communication trope is just not my fav vibe.
🌶️🌶️🌶.5 - pretty vanilla, but you can tell Will is holding back and it’s about to get spicier!

I loved this book! If you love an angsty rockstar romance, this is for you! Lucy is our FMC. She is a mom of two teenage boys. She runs a B&B out of her home. Will is our MMC, and is in a crazy successful band “the kings”. He is on a world tour with his band, and happens to book a stay at Lucy’s B&B. Lucy doesn’t recognize will and just assumes he is a regular guest. Will is immediately smitten and flirts with Lucy, asking her on a date. Lucy agrees thinking he is gay. She quickly learns that is not the case and their love story blossoms. They hit several challenges due to broken phones, a tour manager, and a spiteful brother, and Will living in another country They want to make things work, but it seems everything is trying to pull them apart. This book ends on a major cliffhanger! I need the second book out asap!
2.5/5 spice (milder spicy scenes but a lot of them)

This rockstar rocks!

Insert scream here! I’m not going to lower my rating because I didn’t do my homework. This was a very enjoyable story about a rockstar Will who stays at Lucy’s B & B and they get involved. I liked that they were mature mc’s, Lucy’s complicated family situation and Will existing with his rockstar antic past. What I didn’t realize is that the book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger and their story continues in the next book. I generally think of a series as different characters in the same town or family, etc. I like my books ending in a HEA and I didn’t get that yet. That’s not to say this wasn’t a fun read, but there’s more reading to do.

We are introduced to Lucy, a single mother of 2 who is running a B&B out of her home along with her other business. Will Reynolds, the front runner of The King Band, is tired and checked into Lucy's B&B for somewhere to write new songs.

It was a cute and fun read, with small amounts of smut. For me, I felt like things were missing within the story, especially early on when Lucy and Will were getting to know one another. Will was definitely forward and came in quite early with his attraction to Lucy. A good little rock star romance book.

This was my first rockstar romance and boy did it deliver. Lucy and Will are such well written characters and this book sent me on a rollercoaster of emotions. There were definitely moments where I was shouting out loud at the characters “Seriously?!”. I really couldn’t put it down and can’t wait to see what is next.

This series is so sweet and cute and I loved the Britishness of it! Will is all you want from an MMC and the series ends perfectly. You need to read the series in order and enjoy it the way in which it was intended. Such a lovely little series, I can't wait for more from this author ☺️

This is an easy to read, small town, rockstar romance.

Will checks in to Lucy’s B&B when his band go on tour in the UK. He’s avoiding the limelight and trying to lay low from everyone. When he meets Lucy, there’s instant attraction, and their relationship pretty much starts to blossom from the off.

Like any new relationship though, the pair are tested. And when communication breaks down, all looks a little bit lost.

There is some spice in this book, and I have no doubts that book two, which follows on nicely after this one, will be bringing some more heat!

Light and easy to read!
