About the author

Ulf Gottfrid Stark was a Swedish author and screenwriter (he adapted several of his own books for film and wrote the screenplay for the 1999 film Tsatsiki, morsan och polisen).

Stark collaborated with the illustrators Anna Höglund and Mati Lepp.

From 1989 to 1998 he was an elected member of the Swedish Academy for Children's Books Svenska barnboksakademin. In 1998 he received the Nordic Children's Book Prize.

Stark was born and grew up in Stureby, Stockholm Municipality, which place features in several of his books. Stark's interest in writing started early; during his time at secondary school he was introduced to writing by his classmate Peter Curman, and in 1964 he wrote his first poetry Ett hål till livet. Following this, Stark's interest in writing for a career was greatly encouraged.

Läst för jobbet. Illustrationerna var nice annars nej, har svårt för när vuxna använder barn som "slavar".

Ho letto qualcos'altro di Ulf Stark con risultati altalenanti. Dalle quattro stelline di Sai fischiare, Johanna?, fino alla stellina solitaria di Il bambino detective e Piccolina tutta mia.

Qui si torna verso punteggi bassi. Forse qualcosa si è perso nella traduzione, ma il punto centrale del libro mi è sfuggito completamente. OK, un bambino ha bisogno dei suoi tempi per crescere. Se non me l'avessero detto nella prefazione, l'avrei completamente ignorato.

Bella la tavola con i pesci.

Ulf è un bambino. Un giorno, nel giardino, mentre il nonno estirpa le erbacce imprecando, cattura un bombo. Lui sa quanto il nonno odi gli insetti e così pensa di fargli piacere catturando un bombo. Invece il nonno si arrabbia e così, il giorno seguente, Ulf si ritrova a fare da schiavo per il nonno.
Un romanzo molto bello che mi sento di consigliare caldamente.
