Rate this book
A useful, enjoyable workbook to inspire you to think and write more creatively. In over 300 silly and serious exercises, poet-teacher Paul Matthews gives our fantasy permission to enjoy itself, and then when he has the life flowing, he provides the tools to craft it into poetry and story. Though the exercises are intended for group work with adults, individuals and teachers of children will have no difficulty adapting them to their needs.

This book is full of fun, fruitful exercises for writing groups or the writer alone. Although Matthews sometimes lapses into the typical anthroposophical tendency of declaring that everything about his approach can save the world, this book is still a valuable tool for teaching joy & play in writing & poetry.

Marginally helpful for the anthroposophically inclined wordsmither. Some fun exercises that I think I should try, a smattering of things I can use with my students, and a lot of weird pull quotes from antiquity through Steiner.
