I really enjoyed this, Tania's second novel and thought it a delightful read.

Sweet Seduction has everything set up for the romantic at heart; Livia, a lively young lady who desperately wants to succeed with her cake-making business, and Rufus, a good-looking millionaire who had a quiet 'thing' going for Livia when they were ten years younger.

The story begins with their unexpected meeting and, is this the beginning of a possible rekindling of the old flame?

Needless to say, Livia has a good head on her shoulders and she doesn't lose it easily to Rufus with his charm, poise, confidence and oodles of money.

The story flows, with natural ups and downs. Tania writes well and without giving any more away, I think all romance-lovers will enjoy this one!
Well done Tania.

Dear Self,
why don't you do yourself and het romance authors a favor and stop reading romance for a while because you've clearly got issues with this genre right now (such as the desire to read original work with a memorable voice). So, let's get on with the review, shall we?

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." - Charles Caleb Colton, Lacon, volume I, no. 183 (1780-1832) Source

Let's start with something positive. I liked the timing and the setting. It was contemporary England but still had the son of a member of the peerage (life peerage but whatever) that is ubiquitous in traditional Regency romances. I will also add that Rufus, despite being somewhat unremarkable, was rather sweet.

It was okay. It was light, sweet and readable. But it was also unoriginal, the characters were fairly flat, and the dialogue rather trite. There was a serious case of tell, not show, and a lot of introspection. That meant that there was not enough action and progression - and I realized this by the end of the first chapter.

Come to think of it, it probably wasn't so much the same-oldness of the book that bothered me but the fact that 4/5ths of the book was introspection and exposition. Therefore, I say,

"It's elementary, my dear author Watson. Show, don't tell."

Livia is feisty but at the same time has a vulnerable side and lacks confidence due to caring for her mun who recently passed away. Rufus is successful and used to getting anything he wants. But something's been missing in his life, and it takes Livia entering his business world to make him realize exactly what he's been missing.

This is a really sweet romance that's light and so easy to get in to. I read it in one day, and it would be a perfect beach read. Definitely a feel good romance that will make you go "ah"!

A wonderful romantic read, that has you rooting for Livia who is determined to keep an entrepeneur from taking over her cake making empire.

A great read that will tug at your heart stings.
