Interesting and becoming more and more dated I would guess as all communication speeds on?

This book was given to me by Jen several years ago. I tried reading it then but couldn't get involved. Since then I've been to Japan twice and last month while checking out some books I came across it and decided to try it again.

Wow! Seward hits the nail on the head. Many of the places he writes about I've visited; therefore, I now have a frame of reference to assist me. The places, mores, and customs of the Japanese are covered in a factual, sometimes humorous vein. Highly recommend this book to anyone who loves things Japanese!

Enjoyable, well written, book about Japanese customs and culture from the perspective of an American living there in the mid-1970's.
