Waking up tattooed, mated and a werewolf would shock most people but for Siddalee Brighton it’s just another day.
Siddalee has always held a burning hunger for her best friend, werewolf Jasper Gandillion. But she never realized what belonging to the animal within him would mean until he marks her in a show of passion and dominance, awakening the werewolf inside her. Siddalee was the first of many illegal breeding experiments that the Luna Werewolf Nation Alpha, Dane Velham, created and the only one strong enough to stop the monster from torturing other women and creating more experiments.
Will being the daughter of the monster who slaughtered Jasper’s pack destroy the love and lust between Siddalee and Jasper, or will they emerge as the new Alphas of the Luna Werewolf Nation?
A native of South Alabama Sayde Grace was raised among the cotton fields and dirt roads of the south. She has a deep love and appreciation for the rural communities and uses her experiences of small town life in her books. A lifelong story teller, Sayde began writing full time two years ago and has written five full length manuscripts which range from romantic suspense to young adult and even erotica. In each of her five books she uses her experiences in farming, ranching, or rodeoing to make the story setting believable. Growing up in the equine and cattle industry have given her a behind the scenes knowledge of the industry.
Sayde is currently enjoying and loving life in beautiful South Alabama with her husband and two young children. She is published with The Wild Rose Press for two novella's and working on a third.
Siddalee always thought she was meant to be Jasper Gandillion's mate, but when he leaves her for six months without a word, she is devastated. She would never allow Jasper to see that pain though and when he returns to claim her as his mate, she puts up a fight. However not all is as it seems with Siddalee and as the truth comes out, Jasper will have to be patient with his mate as they begin to build their pack.
Had quite a few surprises. I thought overall good story, Siddalee is very head strong and often makes a knee jerk reaction. Jasper is pure alpha, had a twist with him in the beginning I had a hard time believing. Would check out more though from this author.
I need to start out this review with a confession as it may have something to do with my review as a whole. I am in a book slump. Perhaps it’s me adjusting to me new work schedule, dealing with other things, less time to read…I dunno but I can’t seem to find anything that will pull me out of this darkness.
I really enjoyed the beginning of Untamable. I instantly liked Sidda’s charm, wit and backbone. She’s one tough cookie and she doesn’t care who she has to punch out to get what she wants. Her mouth is lovable in a “I would beat her ass if she said that to me” kinda way. I LOVED HER.
Jasper was a cocky alpha, hell bent on landing errr… mounting….errr…whatever….he wanted. I really loved the mystery behind what he was doing for so long in Romania with some other female while Sidda sat at home not knowing where he was. Jasper was total dominant alpha and I found him to be lovable, infuriating and completely dominant. YUMMY.
However about 30% into the book I started to, for lack of a better word, get bored. There was so much inter-pack politics and the characters where so back in forth with their feelings…I just wanted something to happen. Sidda was constantly trying to tell herself how much she hated Jasper and then in the next thought declare her love. Jasper was being a total man and just wanting to smack her ass lol.
Once the true plot of the villain, Dane, is revealed we start meeting all these secondary characters and it gets pretty hard to keep up with who is who, who is related to who, who’s been with who, and who all these pups belong to. More than once I thought about taking notes to keep track.I’m glad I wasn’t the character in the book in charge of tracking these wolves down to bring into the new pack Jasper was forming. Poor wolf has his work cut out for him :)
All that aside once I got into the last leg of the book the action and plot picked up considerably and I found myself drawn back in again. I really liked Stephan’s (the villains second in command) hardass character who was fighting for control over his inner demons and past actions.
I am a huge supporter of Sayde Grace. She has written some things that literally made me pace a room with anticipation. I love her writing style and for her very first attempt at paranormal romance I would say Untamable is a solid start.
An exciting page-turner, this book grabbed me early on and demanded my attention throughout. I have never met a heroine quite like Sidda before. Mouthy, irreverent, and hard-headed, she is also passionate, loyal and wields powerful magic effortlessly. She loves Jasper with her whole heart but has a knack for severely testing the limits of his patience. I sympathized, usually, with Jasper's frustration, but I must say I just loved Sidda’s spunk and determination to do what she felt needed to be done, regardless. She is a force to be reckoned with and unstoppable when executing her agendas. An action-packed adventure, with some hot, spicy love scenes, this book had me staying up late to reach the satisfying conclusion.
