This book was entertaining & very interesting. I liked reading of the different people & their lives & the historical aspect with regard to Rowntree's was also very interesting. Couldn't find the cover for it tho!
I had high hopes for this historical fiction. The book is a story of Rowntree Factory (known now as Nestle) and it starts from its inception to approx 2005. It's a nice overview of how the times have changed and how the community spirit has gone once a family run business has been taken over by a large corporation and it was all about $$ The story shows various lives of women that joined the factory from pre WWI to 1970s and how different their lives turned out, due to many socio economic factors as well as the society perceptions. It was nice to see the differences each of these women had to face but it did become a little repetitive towards the end.
