Very entertaining throughout and I’m absolutely loving Peter and Kitty as a couple. I’ve always wanted them to get together in the main (616) Marvel Universe; they’re a perfect match! Anyhoo, I’ll stop ‘shipping now...

This was so good omg I loved it!

So we have Pete fighting Omega Red here and its a fun battle and then Silver sable comes in and we see why and how Roxxon is behind it and the history of both the characters which is told in like a "for kids" manner and still makes for a good read and then the big battle when Sable kidnaps Flash thinking he is spidey and the confusion it leads and then what the real Spidey does and the battle and the man behind it all, its so awesome! Plus Fury even has his own machinations which will lead to even more troubles for Spider-man and I also love how Kitty is included here! Actually a lot and wow her and Peter.. well read to find out.

Plus the debuts of Vulture, Rhino and Shocker which I hope leads to big stuff down the line for them but an amazing volume overall and it continues the impressive work of presenting all these classic stories in fun ways and challenge Peter in even better ways! Plus the art is just too good!!

Ahhh Ultimate Spider-man... what an absolute bliss you are! 15th volume done and it is still going just as much pure fun and immensely enjoyable as ever. I can't help but greedily read the whole series to it's end, and yet getting sad at the same time that this brilliant masterpiece of a modern classic Marvel series will end from my to-read list in no time. That is the eternal dilemma of a great book/series to a reader: I can't wait to finish it but I don't want to finish it. :/

Oh well, as long as the next volumes are as blissfully, humorously, suspensefully, excitingly, above all ENTERTAININGLY READABLE as this one... then hopefully I'm going to just sit back and enjoy the ride that is Brian Michael Bendis's Ultimate Spider-man!

The highlight this time is Peter dating Kitty Pryde. They make a very cute couple, and since Peter has broken up with Mary Jane, a very natural one. Silver Sable and her somewhat inept mercenaries are at least entertaining, though I can't even begin to guess what the guy who hired them was thinking.

Surprisingly enjoyable arc because of the characters.

World: I don't know why but I found the art better this arc. Bagley us good with Spidey not so much Peter but u don't know, it was actually ok. I really enjoyed the world building this arc with Roxxon, Silversable, Kitty it was good. The world is fully formed now but adding different prices and different takes from 616 is always interesting and fun.

Story: Surprisingly interesting and fun. Paced and written we the main tale of Silversable is an intriguing one and the tension in the end was wonderful. The issue with the storybook style framing was also good giving a fresh feel to the story. The pieces are moving around and I can tell something big is coming down the line again. The piece with Kitty and Peter was also sweet and full of fun character development, good stuff!

Characters: MJ is still sad for me. She can't just be defined by Peter, it's sad. Peter is okay too with a little further development and slowly getting back to his old self. The idea of him and Kitty seems wrong at first but Bendis handled it well and it was interesting. Roxxon was interesting as was the entire Silversable arc, strong fun characters with basic motivations.

Fun and simple and tension was great.

Onward to the next book!

I really like Kitty Pryde. Is it okay to ship her with Peter? Is that a done thing in comics? Oh, hell, I don't care. In this volume, she was pretty awesome -- and she really can keep up with him better than Mary Jane.

The fights and so on were fairly typical, but there were some good bits (other than Kitty Pryde) dispersed throughout -- especially Aunt May's reaction to Peter trying to come clean to her about Spider-man. That's an impressive amount of that river in Egypt, May.

I did really like the relationship between Peter and Kitty in this volume. I was sorry to see him break up with Mary Jane, but it's nice to see him in a relationship unique to the Ultimate Universe.

This volume focuses primarily on Silver Sable and her dealings with Roxxon, as the corporation has tasked her with hunting down the Wall Crawler. Silver Sable and her team of mercenaries are an effective bunch as they quickly narrow down Spidey as being a student at Midtown High. Tensions pile up, and Bendis incorporates some fun additions to the mythos here. The strongest beat is the opening chapter found in the annual issue where Kitty Pryde begins a relationship with Peter. It's a fun pairing that just works really well for this series, even if most readers will side with MJ as being the true partner for our hero. There's also a fun Flash Thompson portion in this book as well as some great moments for Aunt May that add depth to the supporting cast. The main plot is arguably the most forgettable aspect here, but Bendis does a great job weaving together multiple threads at this point of his run that it feels more rewarding to have made it this far.

I kind of loved the twist here.

So we start with Peter hanging out with Kitty and them starting to like each other. It's really cute but also a smart idea, as Peter's whole reasoning behind not dating MJ is because she can be in danger, and Kitty can protect herself. Then we get into Silver Stable, and her goons, and instead of being smart and intelligent, they're kind of morons who fuck up a lot.

It's a really funny volume with lots of old school Spidy feels. It's not the greatest volume, and no earthshattering events, but that's okay. Sometimes simple Spider-man tales are my favorite kind. A 3.5 out of 5.

Another great Spider-Man comic in this one it was Kind of fun with the whole dating Kitty and seeing Peter with a new girlfriend I guess that knows that quite what you call them meet up with Ultimate Silver Sable, and enjoy all the usual pleasures that have made this series so difficult to put down for me. I suspect we will see more of the X-Men now this was a really enjoyable comic and like I said it's the reason I can't put these Comics down

This volume of Ultimate Spider-Man is 168 pages and contains Annual #1 and issues 86-90. This is another fantastic story with Peter and Kitty Pryde getting together in the Annual, and Silver Sable causing problems for Spidey in the following issues. Absolutely recommend this!

My Ultimate Year #15 (Annual in #14)

This is a really enjoyable volume. Some of the great emotional beats we got early in this series are back.

Read for Peter’s new girlfriend, The Wrecking Crew in their best ever appearance, and more old school friends (no spoilers!).

This was a darn good volume in the Ultimate Spider-man saga. Making Peter Parker a high school student (in the regular Marvel U, Peter didn’t stay in high school for long) is really used to advantage here. The annual reprinted here, where he starts dating the X-Men’s Kitty Pryde, is a perfect example – Peter having broken up with Mary Jane for fear of her getting hurt. Peter and Kitty's date in this issue is a precious and fun story. Other things in this volume I liked: the use of the Wrecking Crew as the clean-up organization known as Damage Control; the Ultimate versions of Silver Sable and the Wildpack, as a group of somewhat inept mercenaries (better than their world-class counterparts in the Marvel U); Mary Jane’s reactions to Peter dating someone else; the closing in of Spider-man’s secret identity being tied to Midtown High; the children’s book illustration style of Silver Sable’s and Donald Roxxon’s pasts; Ultimate Vulture; and the misunderstandings that lead to all the conflicts in this trade. Nicely done.

Way to shake things up! Once again the bad guy is the big change for this collection, with the honor going to the mercenary Silver Sable who did indeed have excellent hair. I was really hoping that the panic attack Peter had over his secret identity would end differently. Sadly, no dice. I'm still having fun though and that's the important thing.

This volume was just awesome. A new relationship that makes sense and are charming together and so forth as far as Teens With Super-Powers goes... But I thought this storyline with Sable and this dumb-ass businessman was very clever from the jump. Instead of it being a villain with some nefarious plot in mind for trying (and failing at first, oh hi Fred, I mean Flash Thompson) to kidnap Spider Man to unmask him and ask what is up with his company, this Roxxon dickhead is all about his misguided self interest (I absolutely love the text that gives us the bare-bones of the backstories for both Silver, who is practical and down to brass tax as a mercenary for a reason, and Donald who is like a slightly more functional Donald than the one in current events). Why did Spider-Man do what he does in attacking the bad guys and saving civilians on Roxxon properties? It couldn't simply be that... Spider-Man does the *right* things, right?

I know I should take off some points for the somewhat abrupt Vulture appearance in the last issue, but even this ties in nicely with this Roxxon's not just incompetence but corrupt ways (even if he doesn't think that's the case). It's the kind of conflict that also amps things up personally for Peter - he almost comes out to Aunt May until she makes clear her savage take on the masked webslinger - while also making clear that sometimes it's a good idea to have a storyline where Peter/Spidey has to face off against total jackasses...with the exception of Silver Sable, up to a point, but even her crew are just jokes.

It shakes things up in a way that's needed so that Spider-Man isnt only fighting nefarious super-powered beings or Fisk (who im sure we'll get back to next time). It doesn't change the entire trajectory of the story, but it doesn't have to - it puts into focus what is so effed up about Parker's existence, even while personally he should be on the rebound (though here, too, MJ still can't let go - I do hope the next issues see her moving on or defining herself without having it be about with/without him).

I must confess how impressed I am with Bendis and Bagley’s run. 90 issues in and it’s still very entertaining. I really enjoy it (I know that, according to some fans, that’s about to change pretty soon with The Clone Saga and Ultimatum...).
This arc was not as great as the others, but it was a lot of fun, nonetheless. The Silver Sable/Roxxon story was predictable and, at the same time, convoluted, but it turned out fine.
However, I absolutely hate the Ultimate version of Vulture. The character design is horrible and he’s not even the real Vulture, just some goon in a very bad costume...
Peter Parker, as I’ve said many times before, is the cherry on top of every Ultimate Spider-Man issue. I’m really enjoying his relationship with Kitty Pride so far! Ah, just one more thing: The annual included in this compilation is the best part of it!
A solid arc with a great annual! 3.5/5 stars

I wonder at which point did Bendis get free reign to introduce just about any character into these Ultimate books. At the beginning it felt like a rather lonely universe with the Ultimates, Spider-Man and the X-Men as the main superpowered forces in this reality. But this volume (and other relatively "recent" ones) continues to aggressively introduce new Ultimate versions of classic Marvel characters such as the titular Silver Sable.

The actual story was a bit weird a times (Silver Sable trying to find Spider-Man for Roxxon), but it's still good fun. The awkwardness between Peter and Mary Jane continues and I generally accept this based on how this story has been handled in the Ultimates line but I do hope they reconcile things later on. But first, Bendis decides to give Spider-Man a new romantic path...

It was pretty good, not great as it never really felt like Spidey was under threat and I'm not sure if Roxxon etc was supposed to be a known thing, it seemed assumed you would know about them but I didn't have a clue. Felt a little low-key when all is said and done.

So why 4 stars? I've always loved Kitty, one of my favourite X characters, heck even Marvel characters, forever, I just like her. So her and Spiderman? Awesome! I'm not sure if they "get together" in an X-Men volume or something as the issue started with them being together without any connecting tissue of them actually getting together... If so I wouldn't mind reading that but I can't find it. It's just nice seeing the two of them together.

There's not a lot to this one in terms of overarching plot, but I love the stuff it does do. I completely forgot about Peter and Kitty but I love it. Silver Sable is at once a red herring, competent adversary to Spider-Man, and out of her league in the realm of SHIELD/supers. Roxxon is kind of a bumbling idiot and it's just a funny addition that also hints at something - could go nowhere but who knows.

I gotta say I'm not a huge fan of Bagley's art, or at least the way he draws women. It's one thing to make all women have the same body, but in this volume, young Sable looked identical to Gwen Stacy in early issues and that's kind of messed up. Get some perspective, dude.

A much lighter and more fun read after the quite harrowing stories of recent issues. I must first say making Peter Parker and Kitty Pryde a couple is so unique. Their first date is frankly adorable and I think all their interactions make for the highlights of this Volume.

The main storyline about Silver Sable trying to track down Spider-Man to question him was interesting enough. The story introduced Sable, Omega Red, the Vulture and the Tinkerer into the Ultimate universe and while none of them are set up to be major players ala Kingpin, Doc Ock or even Electro they're all welcome and Vulture in particular had a really interesting design in my opinion.

I think I’m rating this one a little highly because I love the annual in this and Peter and Kitty funnily enough. Although I still love MJ, im very interested to see how that all comes to a head.

I also have a big crush on the silver sable. Needs me a strong gal like that.

But the Roxxon storyline was a little messy for all the foreshadowing it had around it and it felt a little disappointing I was hoping the corporation to have a little more depth to it but maybe the story will open up later?

I really loved the Kitty/Peter part but I can't help but be frustrated by how naive Peter is acting throughout this series, he just doesn't seem to learn. I'm aware that he's 15-years old but he's supposed to be a genius! He just keeps involving into affairs he doesn't understand anything of, keeps getting demasked and looks like a fool at the end. It's part of the charme, but it's really time for some development.

This might sound harsh but aside from that frustration I really enjoyed this one. (Vulture!)

Kitty (Annual 1). Peter's romance with Kitty Pryde was likely the cutest thing to come out of the Ultimate universe. So charming! [5+/5].

Silver Sable (86-90). This is a delightful arc because it's such a comedy of errors. The head of Roxxon is terrific, and Silver Sable gets an interesting story. It actually loses something when Bendis explains the plot in the last issue, but up until that point it's terrific [4+/5].

Surprisingly good! It loses some of the angst, keeps Spider-Man firmly planted in his world (I don’t mind the Kitty Pride relationship, and actually quite like their chemistry), and makes for a fun story. It’s nothing Earth-shattering, but it hits the sweet spot of Peter’s guilt, his powers, and still being reminded that despite being a big hero he has to go back to school and be annoyed by guys like Flash.

I think this volume does a great job of balancing a light, humorous tone with really well done action. Peter dating Kitty Pryde was something I was vaguely aware of in Ultimate Spider-Man, so I look forward to seeing how that relationship fleshes out. Unfortunately, the combination of the story not really having a lot of impact and the fact that I’m just not a huge Silver Sable fan keeps this volume in “just okay” territory.

This was great, exciting, great goodies and baddies. I like the way they are developing the story and the relationship with X-Men and SHIELD.
I wish in a way Spiderman would grow up a bit. He still seems so naive and gullible. After all he has been through?
Great drawing, action shots and colouring and story.

(3.5) Continuing on a straight line from the last volume. Fun and enjoyable, but it really feels like the story has gone a bit stale. I'm not really a fan of Peter dating Kitty Pride, or of spidey getting easily taken down by the goofy team of Silver Sable, but overall it's still a fine tale. Just not what it once was
