So far my favorite book of recipes - every single thing I have made has been fabulous. I might have overlooked this book when thinking of purchasing a vegan cookbook, so I was delighted quite unexpectedly when offered a copy to review. The book has just undergone a second printing, and the now includes raw and gluten-free recipes. It is a lovely, hefty book, too, with clear and simple directions.

This is a wonderful cookbook based on the idea of cooking in order to share food with friends & family. There are some very basic everyday recipes and some very special recipes for holidays and other special events and social occasions. All seem relatively easy to make, even the fancy recipes. And there's some basic information about the whys and hows of a vegan diet. This book is compiled by the group Friends of Animals: www.friendsofanimals.org.

There are a few good recipes in this, and the photos really tempt your appetite, but all in all it's not the best. If you have enough money to start a very big vegan cookbook collection for your library, then by all means, add this one and you won't be disappointed. However, if you only have means for a few good cookbooks, this ain't one of them.
