Crystal Therapy is a pocket guide to the healing power of 88 crystals, complete with beautiful color photographs of each one. The book is suitable for beginners, and it focuses on crystals that are easily obtainable. Readers learn which crystal to use for particular health or life issues, receive clear explanations of crystal-related terms (such as phantom and record-keeper"), how to choose a crystal that’s been humanely mined, and read fascinating channeled messages from each crystal. The authors discuss how the crystals work with the angels and archangels; and outline the steps for laying particular crystals in your home to build energy grids that help with abundance, romance, a good night’s sleep, protection, and more.
I'm not sure how I feel about this one,it was good but not quite what I'd wanted and a bit boring in parts. The last few pages were the important ones where she Finally buckled down and just gave you a simple, useful guide to what each crystal is best used for. Also a handy chart right at the end with a list of symptoms and areas of the body and which crystals help what.
The rest of the book ended up feeling like filler until the useful parts emerged. The crystal messages were cute, but after reading hundreds of them I began speed reading. I didn't really learn anything new in how to use crystals, there was recommended grid layouts but I think that's intuitive anyway. Not sure I'd reread, but I do like the final 15 pages...
Like all of Doreen Virtues books, this one is an easy read. I'm not even half way through & have learned alot. Last night was a full moon, so I put all my crystals on the back window to receive moon light all night long. My crystal felt like they were virtually jumping with energy this morning. A few wanted new places to be put in. A couple wanted the same place just rotated differently. I just went wherever I felt tug to put them.
I do not like inputting a start or finish date, for that reason I have not input many books that I have read. I am guessing on the dates not anyone has notice.
I call this the crystal book, because it has picture of the crystals that associates with the angels, zodiac, a brief prayer and healing messages, it describes the crystal itself and the crystals that are associated with different illness such as anxiety, abuse, stress, thyroid only to mention a few.
A very insightful read of all kinds of different crystals and the purposes/uses of each one. I wish it was a little bit more descriptive on each crystal and wemt more in depth on birthstones and such. I still enjoyed this book and it helped me identify some crystals I had but wasn’t too sure what they were! I liked this book!
Easy read. Teaches the basics in a very understandable way. Includes how to clean, reprogram, set intention as well as various meditations and grid instructions. Of course it offers detailed information of various stones.
I do find some of the teachings in this book really interesting and I enjoyed the list of angel names and their specialities. The rest kind of left me feeling cold. I supposed I'm too sceptical at this point and haven't come to my place of appreciation for them. I think though it was the language that put me of. Crystal Kingdom and the use of Atlantis really got to me and not in a good way. The basis for crystal therapy is sound, but when you bring in things like this, you're going to lose readers like me. Also, knowing that Doreen Virtue PhD who makes such a song and dance about her PhD got it from a place of no accreditation, and having a PhD myself from a very old and very respected university after 4.5 years of research not including my masters does make me cringe. Almost all of my friends have a PhD, and none of us use it as part of our name. Not even when we publish our academic texts. Its a given.
Love it! Enough said :). Well, no I'll be saying a bit more. I just recently been interested in Crystal Healing and a friend recommended this book to me. I am not always a fan of Doreen Virtue's opinion, but her books always seem to speak to me. I felt it was a good and short introduction about crystal healing, with some scientific information on crystals, how to use them for healing. The other half of the book features some crystals, with a short information what they are used for and a message from each crystal. The last part are some charts for an easy way to look, which crystal is used for what. It really is a short introduction, fa from being a comprehensive encyclopedia, but it is written with a lot of love and intuition.
I adore Doreen Virtue. I have been personally working with color therapy and meditation. It has become sine qua non to my dealing with stress.
This book has opened another avenue of self healing. I am lead to believe from my doctor that I have a cyst on my ovary...I have been working with crystals, solarized water and mediation and I am feeling much better without really knowing what is going on within body other than I just don't feel right.
I am excited, my mother and I are going to see Doreen Virtue at the end of April in San Diego.
If anyone has any questions about my experience, don't hesitate to ask.
The crystals are pictured and laid out for the reader to use as a reference in regards to working with crystal healing. Being that Doreen Virtue works Angel Therapy, the crystals are associated with Archangels, the healing properties for each, and the messages that each crystal carries. The back of the book uses charts and understand with what crystal to heal what ailment or need the person has is extremely helpful.
Having studied and gotten certified as an angel therapy practitioner and a medium by Doreen, I know how she thinks and writes. While I would not pick this book up for locations a stone is found or properties, I find myself going to it a lot when I make talisman's for clients. I also like to learn to combine stones that will create magic in a person's life. If you let the Universe show you, it will give you miracles. This book can be a road map for that.
This book contains excellent photos of the rocks and crystals for easy identification. Being rockhounders, we have many of the rocks and crystals listed in this book. When I told my husband that these rocks hold energy, he said, "I knew that!" Well, I didn't. Now I'm looking at these rocks in a whole different light. Now I need to learn to make them into necklaces :)
While I don't really buy into the whole 'Archangel' element to this book, it is a useful resource for anyone interested in using crystals for therapy, healing, Feng Shui etc. It contains useful information, but I view it more as a book for beginning crystal users. Nevertheless, a worthwhile addition to my bookshelf.
This book is OK but I have others that have more information in them, I wish Doreen Virtue would have added more info. To be honest, it looks "hurried"... there are better books about crystal healing and angels out there. I know it says "pocket guide" but seriously, just not enough information.
WOW! A book that combines the wisdom of the Angels with that of the crstals and gives you positive affirmations to make to bring the energy of each into your life! Wonderful! Blessings
This is a short overview book of crystals, and how they can help. I thought it would be a bit more in depth. It is a good high level book for beginners. In my humble opinion.
