Lisa Cach grew up in a farm near Portland, Oregon, a place she loves although she'd always trying to leave it. Wanderlust has led her to sail the Sargasso Sea, teach English in Japan, and trek the leech-infested jungles of Borneo. She has degrees in both English and psychology, two subjects that were fun to learn about but that guaranteed her low-paying jobs. Her father, she admits, may have been right about the MBA.

Lisa started to writing romances in her parents' basement during snatched moments from work. Since her writing career began her free time has become less and less as her novels become more and more popular. She's loved romance novels since Junior High School, and at least now she doesn't have to worry about getting caught reading one. Lisa married, and bought with her husband a home in Seattle, Washington. She describes her personal paradise as "...a pile of books, a plate of brownies, and the free time in which to enjoy them".

I only liked the first 2 stories in the anthology. The other 2 were corny to me & didn't really follow the theme. The 1st story by Lisa Cach was the very best.

I read all the novels in this book many years ago when I was much younger and they made me fall in love with romance novels and reading! Still love them!

This was a lot of fun! I enjoyed all four of these stories but I did like two of them more than the other two. I liked that these were all set over different time periods.

A Mother’s Way Anthology
Mother: May I by Lynsay Sands – 1353 London, England
Lord Jonathon of Fairley’s mother has been throwing her friends daughters at him for five years, since her husband and older son died. She needed to get creative and act innocent….a plan is formed and moves forward. First King Edward informs Jonathan he must marry in two weeks. Then she gets her daughters friend, Alice of Houghton, to help him find the perfect wife. As long as Jonathan doesn’t suspect her of meddling….this plan might just work.

The Breeding Season by Lisa Cach – 1750 Bath, England
What better help for shy Charles Highcroft to be pushed into being social then Evelina Johnson. Their mothers decided their son and daughter needed to help each other. Evelina was getting a bit of a reputation with the men she’d been kissing and poor Charles was more than content with his horses. After all, it was much easier to be around animals than people. And as simple as Charles chose to dress, Evelina preferred the highest fashions. Can this mismatched couple really help each other? With meddling mothers….anything is possible. I loved the way the author brought the characters to life, especially Charles who really grabbed this readers heart with his shyness.

Protectors/Superheros Series Novella – Book 1.5

Her mother on the other hand believes her daughter needs a Protector and puts an ad in their newsletter for her daughter. After all a mother knows what’s best for her own daughter, right?

Starbuck is not your usual Protector. He doesn’t have that body with the biceps that shout out he’s strong and nothing else about his physical appearance matches up either. And that’s why he is used to go undercover. In this case, he needs to find a mole and looking like a computer type geek fits the role. He’s not sure if it’s good or bad that the girl he wants don’t like Protectors and thinks he’s safe, because eventually the truth will come out.

I only read Lynsay Sands's addition to this anthology. It was decent for an anthology. A quick read. Less than an hour total for Lynsay Sands's story.

Hers is set in medieval England where a Lord is told by the King that he must marry in the next two weeks and have produced offspring by the following summer's end. So, his mother decides to help him by having the daughter of friend sort through all the eligible women at court.

The problem starts when he finds himself falling for the daughter that his mother has said is off limits.

This review is just for Book 6 in Julie Kenner's Superhero series.

This is the story of Jenny and Starbuck. The novella is a fun, fast-paced read that will keep you entertained the whole way through.

If you're looking for a quick, funny read - this is for you!

This book was a little hard for me to get into. I try to give all books a chance and I did read it but it wasn't a great book for me. However I did enjoy the one story Seeking Single Superhero. A subject that I haven't found too many authors write about.

A couple of the stories were interesting; however, the emotions, and subsequent actions, were unrealistic. Okay for a light read.

it was a little hard to get into the stories, which are just your basic romance stories. a little sci-fi thrown in in the last story.
