The Countdown

Rate this book
The Countdown is a labor of love for those wanting to understand Biblical themes with modern-day examples and narrative. This series counts down ten extremely important topics for every Christian, from unforgiveness and love to significance and our God-given value. Especially targeted, but not limited to, a younger audience, this book nails the contemporary analogies of these themes to books, movies, music, video games, and television. If you are tired of inaccessible theological books and want a fresh, young, current voice, The Countdown will not let you down. But the real question is, are you ready to let God change you? Are you ready to start The Countdown?

hey what can i say? this book is awesome! i mean, i DID write it, but i still think it's awesome. it's a labor of love on my part to explain to many christians my age (give or take a couple of decades) certain fundamental truths of the Bible for their personal growth in Christ. it dawned on me one day that there are many books out there but hardly any that are accessible to everyone. for instance, for many people, we learn about life more through media than actual one-on-one teaching or even ministry or through our relationship to the holy spirit. one of the things i endeavored to do was to write in a conversational tone that is accessible to anyone but write in analogies to many different media references. I initially wrote a very long book but decided to break it up into thirds so it would be less daunting to read. this first book takes on three subjects (there are ten in total through the series).

i've gotten a lot of positive response from many different readers. my prayer is that you not only love the book but allow God to change you with it, and allow him to change your life through his Word and his Spirit.

A transparent honest account of one man's walk with God and the lessons God has taught along the way to date. The text is full of pop culture refrences and will delight those that remember M.A.S.K, playing with G.I. Joes and love action movies.

When the author first wrote this book, he had compiled 10 basic truths that he felt like weren't being discussed in most churches. He wanted to bring attention to these 10 areas so that Christian readers could live in a way that would be more in line with what Jesus taught. After having friends review early drafts of the book, the consensus was that the book was good, but too long. Johnson decided to split his long book into three parts, and this is Book 1. Counting down, we get entries #10 through #8 in this book.

This book is a non-stop blend of pop culture references and spiritual insights. The author writes in a very honest way.
