Nero Wolfe receives a mysterious invitation to a cocktail party (he only drinks beer) and sends his assistant Archie instead (former alcoholic now teetoler) advising him to call when the murder occurs.

It does. Now it becomes an issue, figuring out who, and how.

This would be a boring story if it weren't presented in such a clever order.
