It's fine. You really need to like college basketball to get into it. It's a series of interviews describing the life of Jim Valvano. Towle seems to have done strong work at researching the people who knew him best and getting their perspective. Most of his probably know him best for being associate with cancer research, and that is certainly a significant portion of the book. It also describes his Italian roots, his time at Rutgers and Iona, his relationship with his family and his time at NC State.
