I read this book in grammar school, long before I understood the context of the Battle of the Bulge or what the 7th Armored Division was. It impressed me so much at the time that I thought about it constantly, and eventually become quite interested in the history of the Second World War. I doubt that kids have many books like this to read anymore, from what I've seen.
