The first two stories were good...the last, not so much.

The first novella (Love in Three-Quarter Time) was pretty much okay. The second felt like a joke to me because the characters were, quite frankly, awkwardly built up and the chemistry between the couple was highly unlikely.

But come the third one, Tapestry, and I felt like I stumbled into a scene right out of any sane woman's nightmare. I kept glancing at the back cover and looking at whatever clues I could find just to assure myself I was still reading a romance anthology. Whatever moral the author wanted to send by the end of the story was eclipsed by the bitter aftertaste I had with the whole plot. It was more fitting as a psychological, crime-thriller... so, yeah, that's why the 1 star...

The first story was fair. Very unrealistic. They met one night, talking several times throughout and the next time they met, become engaged. Just because he made you feel things you haven't before. Keep experiencing life and you'll run into that more times.

The second story was fairly decent.

The last story was a sh*show. 1. She left her marriage without divorcing. Just left to visit her friend. 2. She was reacquainted with someone she met in high school. He then alternates between travelling the world with her to keeping her locked up. 3. She meets another guy. Runs away and ends up living with him and his 2 daughters. Guy 2 murders him and drugs and kidnaps her. 4. She escapes again to go home with guy 1. But he's moved out because she's been gone for months at this point. Now I'm confused. She dreamed it all and is still with guy 1/ her husband the entire time?

What can I say? These three stories all take place on the same night at the same place, a Mardi Gras masked ball in New Orleans, but from different couples' points of view, which didn't work at all for me.

Let me start off by saying. Janet Dailey I do not know how you got sandwiched between these two other novellas but I'm sorry. The Taming of Katharina was the only bright spot of the entire book. Now having said that I do not recommend this book to anyone.
This was my second experience with Jennifer Blake and probably my last. I just don't like how she writes women. Her dialogue was a little uninspired also.
Elizabeth Gage's novella though was, first of all, not even a romance. I'm not entirely sure what it was other than horrible. I'm so frustrated that I actually finished this book...

This book was a mixed bag for me. I enjoyed the first two stories as light and fluffy fun reading. The third story felt out of place in this anthology. To me, it was a vast departure from the first two. The author put her character through quite a bit of disturbing drama. The build up to the end and the end were disappointing.

Hated the book at the first chapter and put it away. The story is written poorly and the heroine personality and vocabulary don't match the timing of the story...The characters could have been intriguing if the author(s) have worked a lot more on them...

I only liked (and finished) Janet Dailey's story. That was surprising, as I usually don't like her books. The other two were DNF.

First two were good books. Kind of hokey but nice.

The third was a horrible nightmare of pain.
