Worldwide confusion. Personal tragedy. International chaos. Ever wondered what it will be like at the end of time? Read the headlines today - and this story.

"God," Dani whispered. "If You are really there and You really do care about what happens to us, please help me. Not for my sake. I don't deserve it. For my baby. Please."

What could Dan tell the remaining members? Those who were leaving questioned the church doctrines that kept them from uniting with the United Religious Coalition. "I always believed the coming of the end would be so obvious people could not miss it. I'm beginning to change my mind. I feel that right now we are living in the very last days. But most of my congregation seems totally unaware."

Gavin sighed, like a teacher frustrated with a rebellious child. "After all the catastrophes that have befallen America these past few years, Brian, it was ripe for a conversion. When tough times come, people very nearly trample each other to climb onto the moral bandwagon and get right with God. A conservative nation is a strong nation, and by God, Brian, I'm going to make this a strong nation. It will become the center of the world!"

What if these things were really happening? Are you sure they're not?

I’m drawing a line in the sand. It’s time to leave behind old, boring ideas of what Christianity is all about. It’s not sweet. It’s not prissy. And it’s certainly not boring. God is a relevant power in our lives, and yes, living His way can get messy. It can even get dangerous . . . to our pride, our arrogance, and our preconceived notions. But wouldn’t you rather live an exciting life connected to the source of all power in the universe than skulk in the shadows wondering how and why your life makes a difference?

In my writing, I try to demonstrate what that kind of dynamic Christian life looks like. My books are meant to be more than entertaining. They are meant to be life-changing. So if you want to come along, hold on. It’s going to be a wild ride.

I read this book when Céleste Perrino-Walker was the only author. After reading her wonderful Prayer Warriors trilogy, I was excited to get to read another one of her books, since the ads for it said it was supposed to relate events althat came after the ending the third Prayer Warriors trilogy book. Boy was I disappointed. It wasn't written in the same style as the beloved trilogy series, for starters, and she barely mentioned one family from the trilogy and the main guardian angel of that family appeared twice in the book. Those were the only connections to the Prayer Warriors trilogy. I was so disappointed in the book that I threw it out. It didn't stay on the shelves of the Adventist Book Center for very long, either. Now that it's back, I'm not interested in getting disappointed by it a second time.

A Thought Provoking Read

This is the first book in a series focused on events leading to the unfolding of the book of Revelation. There are hints and glimpses paralleling present day circumstances, combined with a lot of action and suspense, with a finale that leaves the reader asking difficult questions. Questions every Christian needs to ask themselves now. A timely book indeed.
