In Candracar, the Council of Elders is in a panic. Nerissa has entered the walls of the Temple. Without the Heart of Candracar, the girls do not have their full powers. But even worse, none of them seem to care- life is much easier without the pressure of being a guardian. A Choice Is Made
Cassidy’s Star creates an “ethereal shield”. Then “The Heart of Kandrakar” creates one too. The Oracle tells them to focus on the shield. If they lose concentration it will weaken. Nerissa starts to murmur something and then the Heart of Kandrakar shatters. Tar begins to leak from the cracks and coat Kandrakar. Hay Lin yells out to her grandma (whose not in the shield. Will hears the Oracle tell her to “Follow the choice of the heart”. The darkness (the negative essence of the Heart starts to swallow everyone outside the shield). Will starts to feel strange and then … She finds herself back home in bed.

Will can’t sense the star now. Things aren’t normal. Her mother’s tea and pastries are delicious and they hadn’t fought once. She knows she’s not dreaming but something’s off. When she meets up with her friends, they talk about their powers. Surprisingly they don’t seem to care that they’re gone. Hay Lin is also acting weird. In Kandrakar she was worried about her grandmother. Now she’s axting like it didn’t even happen.

Taranee also forgets her shyness and goes over to Nigel and tells him she’s thinking about him, but her mother shows up. Despite her friends trying to distract Mrs. Cook, she finds Taranee and interrupts. Instead of being mad, she surprises Taranee by inviting Nigel over for pizza and to watch a movie. Taranee gets so excited she kisses Nigel in front of her mom. Cornelia and Will both agree the others are acting strange. Will says maybe they’ve just gotten the lives they deserved. Cornelia says they should meet at her house to talk about it. She gets off at Wills bus stop. Will says she’ll wait with her but then Matt drives up and asks her to go with him to the pet shop. This leaves Cornelia standing there and thinking how they say she’s the ditzy one.

She thinks about how she doesn’t want to forget who she is or Caleb. She then sees Cadma’s bird and decides to follow it. Cadema sent her bird to find Will. Even after she retired she still had some powers. Now it seems they’ve all gone. She drops the bomb that Kandrakar is gone! Cornelia tries to tell her friends but Irma just looks at her blankly and asks what’s Kandrakar. Cornelia gets upset and storms out of the cafe into the rain. She runs into Peter and thinks about wishing he’d ask her to watch a movie with him Tarnee, their parents, and Nigel. It would be so much easier to forget Caleb. Then she thinks about what she just thought and runs off.

Cornelia goes home, and finds the picture Elyon drew of Caleb. She’s comforted that now she’ll never forget. Seeing his face, transforms her. Now she’s in her W.I.T.C.H outfit and face to face with Nerissa. Because of love, Cornelia wakes the other Guardians. Nerissa explains that their bodies were there-she’d put them in a deep sleep-, but she’d placed their minds in their astral drops. Nerissa wanted the shield to weaken so she could kill them in their sleep. All of a sudden, the heart and the star unite.

The shields and the sludge disappear. Now the heart has to choose who it belongs to. Nerissa tries to trick Will isn’t giving the heart back to her in order to have the normal life she deserves. Will tells her they don’t choose. The heart does and it chooses her. Nerissa’s hatred makes Shagon stronger and he inflicts her with a swing of his sword-weakening her-. Nerissa starts to transform back into an old hag and powers up for a final attack, but W.I.T.C.H combine their powers and finish her off (turning her to dust). Khor and Shagon are changed back to a man and his dog. The Oracle says he can’t answer what will happen to Caleb.

Rating: 6 Nerissa was taken out WAY to easily even without the heart. I’m not even sure I believe she’s gone. It just felt TOO EASY! We’ll see.

Ah, W.I.T.C.H. So much of my childhood was spend obsessing over the series. The books. The comics. The cartoon. The merchandise. You name it I was into it.

So why only the three stars if I loved it so much?

Well as time went by, I grew disinterested in the series. I went along with it mainly to see how it ended. I simply wanted to know what the final outcome was.

Surely that is not enough to merit three stars? You loved it!

I did, but that was because I was a pre-teen with very low expectations. This came before my vampire-loving period, so you can imagine what my standard was like. Don’t get me wrong, they’re not bad books – they’re simply not something I can go back to now that I’m older.

Thoroughly enjoyable at the time, but not quite so much now.

Nesmím zapomenout ani na Elyon, i když udělala pár nesprávných rozhodnutí, samozřejmě i další důležité postavy : Věštce, Caleba, Joela, Orube, Cedrika, Matta, Luka, Erica, babičku Hay Lin....
Rozhodně to byla má nejoblíbenější dětská série, at už komixy nebo seriál. Doporučuji všem mladším slečnám. ;)

This was a stunning form for the battle and the tale was brilliant. The battle was more subconscious then physical. Cornelia really saved the Guardians in this one and the battle was brilliant and well thought out. The choice of the Hearts was brilliant and the strength in their bond was fantastic. This was brilliant re-read and very enjoyable.

I used to like these series. Now, I don't think they're so good anymore. I got up to number 12 or something like that, and they've gone up to #26 or something... and they're still coming out!! I'm not really interested into them anymore, but I used to be.

I loved this series! All of the different girls had their own individual personalities that made the series more enjoyable to read. Also, of course the cool magical powers was a plus. I loved the character relationships and adventures the girls got themselves into.

This is my second favorite book in the series. Gosh I love Nerissa so much! I think this was a great way to end her arc...well except for the fact that The art is also very wonderful, I just like how the artist drew all the characters.

It's crazy how she had to tell her mother that she's a W.I.T.C.H.. And I love the way Cornilla and I. finally stop argueing for once and worked as a team.

Will and the others journey back home, but have lost their powers! To make it worse, no one seems to care! Can Cornelia and Will somehow pull them together again?
