My sister buys these strategy guides for the artwork, which is fortunate for me, since I have to borrow them all the time. I like the artwork as well, but I usually need to refer to the strategy guides because my strategies with most RPG's, well, sucks. This is one of the more useful guides I have used in the past.
A pretty good strategy guide, but I felt more could have been added to it in order to make it more 'complete'. This guide is a lot better than many I have used, but the company that did the Collector's Guide to XIII-2 did a much better job, at least in my opinion. To the X-2 guide's credit, I did not find anything that was flat-out wrong, as with some guides, I just feel more information could have been added. Overall, since it is a pretty good guide and did come in useful a couple times, I would have to give it four stars.
A guide I likely used the least. In fact, I only came into possession of it because my friend who use to own it gave it to me after he was too bored with the game. I’m guessing, I want to say I was about 2/3s through completing the story of the game (not for 100%). I didn’t use this that much except for after finishing. And even flipping through here I’m not really certain I used it at all (there was Blitzball in X-2!?). Maybe to try and influence the type of ending I could get? Hm, well, all in all it is a comprehensive guide.
Time to talk more about the game. X-2 is fun. I like to view it as a standalone using familiar characters. Dresspheres are super fun and the interaction with the characters, and player, are super interesting. Sometimes maybe too fast-paced, but I do remember having a blast. Checking out the guide it’s quite apparent I missed out on A LOT of stuff. However, I have X/X-2 HD remaster and while I played X, I’ve yet to get around to X-2. Time to put this baby to use. Gullwings out!
