I love the slower pace of New Bern, North Carolina as well as the history and small town community. Imagine a neighborhood where people wave at one another and keep eye out for the children. It's like living in the 1950s. In addition to dreaming up my next story, of which there are always two or three in the works, I enjoy reading everything from children’s books to romance to mysteries to vampire adventure, singing in my church choir and needle-weaving.

I did not like this at all. There was not a story, the lines were cheesy, and they supposedly fell in love in one page. I mean come on!! I have read many ménage books and there is a way to do it were it is not stupid. There was no character development, plot or even a real romance.

Spring Comes To Sanctuary is a paranormal romance. This is a M/F/M menage romance so it may not be for everyone. This is also a quick read, a great choice for those with limited reading time. Spring, Adam and Ryan's story is a fun shifter read. Spring Comes To Sanctuary is book 1 of the Welcome to Sanctuary Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

The hiking guide mentions seeing squirrels, rabbits, birds and the occasional deer. It said nothing about giant horse-like dogs!! Actually, they’re Irish Wolfhounds but Spring’s reaction to their sudden appearance on the trail would have been pretty much the same. Dead faint!
Spring Ryan is tired of people looking at her face and assuming she doesn’t have a brain just because she happens to be pretty. Granted, her latest scheme to spend her birthday alone, on a fifty mile nature hike down the Appalachian Trail, might not help her argument. Don’t misunderstand; Spring is stronger and more independent than people, including her parents, give her credit for. A traumatic episode in her past has made her wary but she’s tired of living in fear.
A nice quiet hike over several days with plenty of time to think about what she wants to do with her life is on the agenda. Being confronted with a pair of hot and sexy Irish wolfhound shifter mates is NOT. Good thing Spring’s plans are flexible because once she has a taste of love al la twins Adam and Brock Sullivan, going back to a place that no longer felt like home holds very little appeal. But will she have to make a choice when reality and her job back home breaks into their secluded mountain sanctuary? Don’t get too caught up in the romantic element of this book, there is a sinister force just waiting to throw a wrench into this budding triad.
Spring Comes to Sanctuary is a perfect example of the imaginative talents of author Cooper McKenzie. Her stories are always entertaining in their settings and dialogue. The way she describes the remote haven of Sanctuary had me wanting to see this place. Oh well, if I can’t go there in real life I’ll settle for visiting through Ms. McKenzie’s vivid story telling.
An example of her powerful writing is the way she paints a tantalizing picture of the overwhelming effect the twins have on Spring. Someone recently asked the question if “fated mates” had become clichéd or over used in fiction. My response was similar to several others in that it depends on how the writer develops the relationship outside of the influence of “fate”. Ms. McKenzie does an exceptional job of creating chemistry and growth between Spring, Adam and Brock. By the way, in case you didn’t know, NEVER give wolfhound shifters high doses of caffeine…just take my word on that!

The whole series looks to be wonderfully conceived and plotted out. I’ve read Winter’s story and I’m anxiously awaiting younger sister’s Summer and Autumn to find their HEA’s as well. Pick up a copy of Spring’s story and be prepared to be drawn into a world fated mates and love everlasting.

2.5 stars... it was just OK.
This was book 1 in the 'Welcome to Sanctuary' series. It's a 'short, pleasant read' that had the possibilities of more drama with the stalker, being lost in the woods, the domineering parents, and so on, but the author just didn't really deliver it to us. She didn't develop the main characters all that much, either, and we were left with not much insight about the twins as people, or Spring beyond the very basics. I was disappointed in that.
Spring's siblings are described, but are absent in the story. A good idea for the series, but the delivery wasn't forthcoming.
Spring Ryan has a brother and two sisters who will be the mates in the coming books for the shape-shifter Sullivan twins (there are several pairs). Book 2 is already out; it is a m/m/m book with a set of the Sullivan twins and Spring's brother, Winter.
I don't think I will continue buying this series because Siren-Bookstrand has several others that are better much better ('The Brothers of Wilde', Nevada and 'The Great Wolves of Passion, Alaska' for example).

This has to be one of my favorite Cooper McKenzie books. Spring is a woman who has been sheltered by her family ever since she was the victim of a horrifying attack in college. A decade later, she’s looking to take back her life by going on a solo backpacking trip through the mountains. The premise is a bit far-fetched—how many overprotective families would let their daughter go off into the wilderness alone?—but it’s a story about shapeshifting Irish Wolfhounds, so I was willing to suspend disbelief.
Adam and Brock are loveable from the start, and they definitely bring out the best in Spring. I loved the way they interacted with one another. This is McKenzie at her finest. Spring Comes to Sanctuary is fast-paced with a cute story and well developed characters. If you love shape-shifter stories, you’ll love this.

I fully understand that this is an erotic romance and I did enjoy the book. However, I felt that if the sex scenes had been cut and there was way more character development the book could have been a lot better. A little bit better of a glimpse in the life of Adam and Brock would have been nice and also a better glimpse at Spring's siblings would have been nice too. I understand the rest of the books will contain the rest of the Sullivan twins and the Ryan siblings, but there was a chance to really open up and pave the way here for the future books. I will be interested come Thursday (4-7-11) to see what Winter's book is like.

Turning thirty, Spring Ryan felt it was time to step away from her mundane life and step away from the protectiveness of her family. Planning a trip alone on the Appalahian Trail seems to be the best way to prove she is dependent only on herself, but by day three she is wondering if perhaps her idea was a bit to hasty, especially when she sees two wolf-hounds that seem to have an interest in her.
Was a bit fluffy for me, I just had a hard time wrapping around the idea that Spring would just readily accept the shifters/mate story so easily.

The only thing that can redeem this book is if the following books in the series are a lot better because this book only really functions as a set-up book. There was no drama, not conflict.
I couldn't believe how easily she accepted her mates, accepted that they were shape shifters, accepted the 3-some, decided to move, how quickly her parents accepted her total change.... all the points of conflict were not at all played up. Not that that is a bad thing, but it is a bit unfulfilling, there is no spice. So I will check out the other books and see if they make up for it.

She's been hiking through rain and cold, while trying to get to her next shelter she falls down and can't get back up. When she finally removes her pack and gets to her feet she comes face to face with 2 huge Irish Wolfhounds who end up being twin wolf hound shifters and her mates. The story improves and becomes even juicier. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!

It was waaaaay to simple and unbelivable. While i dont like the characters that run away scared like crazy when they hear or see someone shifting, this one was just too accepting, in everything...and other than the author saying she was feeling something like a pull towards the men and their Sanctuary, there was nothing that could atest to her words or feelings. All seemed just simple acting and not developed enough for me...words on paper with no reall emotions.

Wow, who wouldn't want twin, hot, sexy, shapeshifter mates? This is a 18+ read. So hot you will be begging for more :D Spring goes on a hiking trip alone through the mountians. Tired from sleepless nights and sore from the long walk she ends up being stranded on the trail soaken wet in the pouring rain. She meets her twin mates who end up bringing her to paradise more then once in this hot erotic story. God help us all this is a very hot and amazing story :D You must read this.

In many ways it is a very cute story but in some ways it's kind of silly. Yet, as always, McKenzie's writing style and story-telling ability carry the day. Just wish there was more substance to the plot and as always, just longer. Not sufficient time to develop characters or develop the plot in a meaningful way.

This was a fun story with a different shape shifter than I have read about in the past. The characters are loveable and will make you laugh in spots and there is a little bit of suspense. While not the greatest book I have ever read it was good enough for me to want to try other books by this author. This is the first book in the Welcome to Sanctuary series.
