An eye opening book. I'm still a fairly new Special Education teacher. This book really broke down the IEP more and gave me a lot of better "why's" to things that I do.

I definitely feel I need to redo every IEP.

The book “IEP from A to Z: How to Create Meaningful and Measurable Goals and Objectives” is an accessible and comprehensive guide to creating effective IEPs for students with special needs. The book is broadly based and applies to children with nonverbal learning disability, ADD/ADHD, emotional disturbance and behavioral difficulties, language difficulties, and autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The content features a practical explanation of the special education process, area-specific sample goals and objectives templates, tips for teaching skill development and generalization, and helpful teaching resources. The Moving from Theory to Practice section of the book is especially noteworthy as it addresses skill categories often neglected in students’ IEPs such as social relatedness, pragmatic language, executive function, and theory of mind. The IEP from A to Z is essential reading for parents and professionals both of who share responsibility for developing high quality IEPs designed to provide effective educational programs and services to special needs students.

Solid explanations of each piece of the IEP. Nice overview of goals. A little more moderate focused than I teach.
