Mason Howard had known his whole life that he was not like most of his classmates so he focused on trying to to seem as normal as possible. After meeting Annie Brennan, a girl who was more like Mason than she even knew, Mason had to decide if being normal was what he really wanted. And if not, could he bring himself to tell Annie the truth about their shared secret? Normal was the last thing Annie Brennan wanted. After striving to find some way to stand out from her classmates, Annie was happy to discover a family secret that made her seemingly boring life more thrilling. Only Annie had no idea exactly how exciting things were about to get or how much she would wish for her quiet life back.
I really enjoyed Paired. I have a love of YA fiction and this book was really entertaining.
The book follows Annie and Mason through a star crossed lovers/long distance type romance.
After meeting at a wedding Mason realizes who and what Annie is and that she has no idea.
Although Mason lives a privileged old money life in Virginia and Annie unknowingly lives a glamorous life in NYC as the daughter of a famous clothing designer, the two are perfectly paired.
While reading the book I definitely felt like I was a senior in high school again, all the hormonal emotions of young love and jealousy and betrayal came back to me.
All in all a fun read. I can’t wait for the sequel.
