A very good place to start for beginners, much helpful practical diagrams and advice.

All too text book I'm afraid and nothing lively about the method of explaining but just what you need for beginners.

The first half gives good introduction to concepts, but the book is dated. Also, it felt harder to follow toward the end because of how previous concept were referenced.
